NEW CUMBERLAND – Stephanie Ann Fuller Sterling has successfully defended her dissertation and earned her Educational Doctorate (Ed. D).
She received her doctorate in Educational Leadership in August 2015 and participated in the commencement on May 5, 2016, at the University of Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky.
Mrs. Sterling graduated from Oak Glen High School in 1987. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from West Liberty University; a Masters of Arts (MA) degree from West Virginia University in Special Education, Learning and Behavior Disabilities; and a second MA degree in Instructional Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Ky.
She has been an adjunct professor at Westmoreland County Community College in Pennsylvania, and is a Distributed Scorer for the Pearson Partnership for Assessment for Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) Project. In July, she will be teaching classes for the University of Cumberlands in Kentucky as adjunct faculty.
She is employed by the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) in Frankfort, Ky., as an Exceptional Child Consultant since January 2012. She is currently the State Performance Plan and Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR) Coordinator for Kentucky, and the individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B State Monitoring Lead.
Sterling and her husband, Tom, reside in Richmond, and have two daughters, Taylor, a junior studying at the University of Louisville, Ky., and Jenna, a senior at Madison Central High School in Richmond.
Sterling is the daughter of Joe and Ruth Fuller of New Cumberland.
