Sheriff's Office
-- A woman from Hillside Drive, Butler Township, reported at 9:36 p.m. Saturday that she's in the state of Florida and her estranged husband entered her residence through the outside basement door and turned off the security camera while her 15-year-old son was at the residence by himself and locked himself in his bedroom. Upon arrival, deputies were advised by a neighbor that the man left before deputies arrived. A deputy spoke with the woman and advised her how to obtain a protection order.
-- A man on Center Road, Knox Township reported at 9:18 p.m. Saturday that a vehicle, unknown description, came by his residence westbound and shots were fired from the vehicle. A deputy checked the area but didn't find anything.
-- A woman on Lake Front Drive, Knox Township, reported at 7:48 p.m. Saturday that her neighbor was chasing the ducks, making noise and running after them.
-- A deputy was dispatched at 1:33 p.m. Thursday for a report of a stripped down 4-wheeler parked along Pine Hollow Road, Rogers. The deputy located the stripped down Polaris 4-wheeler abandoned along the road and checked with area residents to see if anyone was missing a 4-wheeler. Residents reported hearing it around 7:30 a.m. going down the road, as it was very noisy, but no one was missing a 4-wheeler. There was no visible serial number plate on the 4-wheeler, indicating it may have been stolen. The 4-wheeler was towed by Baker Towing.
-- Deputies responded to North Market Street, Lisbon to assist Lisbon police on a traffic stop, assisting with the inventory of the vehicle while the Lisbon officer completed field sobriety tests on the driver. The driver was transported by Lisbon police to the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the vehicle was towed.
-- A domestic violence report was taken at the sheriff's office in Lisbon at 8:58 p.m. Aug. 4 regarding an incident that occurred on East Liverpool Road, Madison Township. Warrants were issued for Madison Township woman for domestic violence and aggravated menacing.
-- A man on Miller Road, Elkrun Township reported a case of trespassing at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday, saying that his daughter was using a vehicle belonging to a Lisbon man that was parked in the driveway and the owner came to the residence and got it.
-- A man on state Route 172, West Township reported at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday that his son sent him multiple text messages that he will call the sheriff and make false accusations if he does not buy him a vehicle. He also called his place of employment and made the same statements to staff. The man said he just got off work and he's going to be staying in Carroll County for the night.
Highway Patrol
-- Madelynne M. Schweiger, 22, Canonsburg, Pa., was cited for reasonable control after her westbound vehicle traveled off of state Route 172 and struck an electrical box and a culvert at 11 a.m. Aug. 14 in Hanover Township.
-- No injuries were reported when an eastbound vehicle driven by Jeryck A. Givens, 27, state Route 45, Lisbon, on U.S. Route 30 struck a beaver crossing the road at 3:20 a.m. Aug. 13 in Elkrun Township.
-- Vincent E. Delaroza, 27, North Market Street, East Palestine, was cited for reasonable control after his westbound vehicle went off of the right side of Padgett Road and struck trees at 4 a.m. Aug. 13 in Unity Township. He suffered suspected minor injuries, but wasn't transported.
-- A 17-year-old Leetonia boy was cited for a stop sign violation after his northbound vehicle on Depot Road failed to yield at the stop sign and struck a westbound vehicle on state Route 172 driven by Zachary T. Shuler, 31, New Brighton, Pa., at 4:54 p.m. Aug. 12 in Center Township. No injuries were reported.
-- A hit/skip was reported at 9:11 p.m. Aug. 10 on Myers Road in West Township when a motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve and overturned. No name was listed on the report, but serious injuries were suspected.
-- Two drivers were cited after a four-vehicle accident at 5:04 p.m. Aug. 11 in Knox Township on U.S. Route 62. The four vehicles were all eastbound when a vehicle driven by Brenda L. Gaver, 68, West Ohio Avenue, Sebring stopped due to a motorcycle slowing to make a right turn into a business. A vehicle behind Gaver driven by Morgan R. Goldner, 30, Warren, also slowed but was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Julina K. Chidester, 23, Alliance, whose vehicle was then struck by a vehicle driven by Stacey A. McClain, 56, Eastlake Road, Lisbon. As a result, the Chidester vehicle was pushed further into the Goldner vehicle, causing the Goldner vehicle to strike the Gaver vehicle. Chidester was cited for assured clear distance. McClain was cited for assured clear distance and operating a vehicle impaired. She suffered a suspected minor injury, but wasn't transported. Golder suffered a possible injury but wasn't transported.
St. Clair Township
-- Officers were called to Sheetz by the gas station's security team on Aug. 3 for a vehicle in the drive thru with a female riding on the hood. When officers arrived, they were told the vehicle had just left and pulled into McDonalds. Officers found the vehicle at McDonalds and talked to the occupants asking if they were just at Sheetz to which they said yes, they were at the drive thru copying a Tic Toc challenge by ordering their food and paying for it from the hood of the vehicle. Officers told them they could not do that, and they are not to do that again.
-- Officers spoke with a manager at Boost Mobile who accused employees of taking money out of the cash register but was unable to provide proof of it on Aug. 3.
-- A female called the police station on Aug. 3 to report her ex, who was released from jail on July 28, was violating a protection she has on him by texting a household member staying with her son in the residence and she noted his bond agreement states he cannot contact any household member in the residence and that she is not staying at the residence due to being in fear of him. The officer emailed a statement form for her to fill out send back with the bond agreement and text message.
-- A female called to file a report after being alerted on Aug. 3 by Capital One of a possible fraudulent charge on her credit card. She said Capital One told her two charges were made on her account on Aug. 2 to an online clothing store. She noted Capital One is investigating, and she wants a report on file.
-- An officer requested a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) be issued to the surrounding area and states on Aug. 4 for a homicidal and suicidal male in relation to a case being conducted by another officer.
-- An officer investigating an aggressive dog compliant at a Gipner Avenue residence on Aug. 4 made contact with the owner of the property where the dog was staying and was told by the property owner that the dog belonged to a Reve Mccullough, who was staying at the residence. Mccullough was found to have an active warrant and placed in handcuffs. Mccullough told officers she needed medical attention for an infected finger. Mccullough was released to North Star for treatment after the officer called to see if the sheriff's office had someone available to sit with her at the hospital, which they did not.
-- An officer spoke with a female by phone on Aug. 5 who was calling to report finding a suspicious black garbage bag packaged on the steps of the Tri State Christian Church while attending a Bible study. She said the package had a note that read "God forgive Me." The female said a pair of scissors and a pop was beside the package which she opened and inside was dirt and broken glass.
-- An officer stopped a vehicle with two people in it who were fleeing Walmart loss prevention on Aug. 5 after stealing and concealing 32 items totaling $50.96 in a backpack. Loss prevention pointed out the vehicle to the officer who stopped the vehicle. The male identified as Paul Beaver, 36, after being read his Miranda Rights admitted to stealing the items while the female identified as Marlane Polojac, 24, knew he was doing it. Both were taken into custody, transported to the police station for processing and released with a court summons. Beaver was charged with petty theft and Polojac with charge with complicity to conspire with another.
-- Brian Stowers was taken into custody on Aug. 5 and charged with aggravating menacing after family members reported him to be on the porch of his Annesley Road residence with a gun threatening to harm a family member.
-- Officers spoke with a female at her Pugh Road residence told them on Aug. 6 that she was having trouble with the person she lived in a duplex next to in Lisbon before moving to Calcutta. The female said the male broke into her apartment three days prior and runs by her apartment. The officer spoke to the female's son by phone and he told them she randomly goes through these episodes where she believes this male is trying to get her. North Star arrived at the residence and spoke to the female who refused to go to the hospital and did not appear to be a danger to herself or others.
-- Officers spoke with a male on Aug. 7 who said he was cutting his grass when he found several nails in his McCoy Avenue yard, and he didn't know who threw them there.
East Liverpool
-- An officer spoke with a female by phone who said he wanted to report threats and harassment on Aug. 2. The caller said a male was threatening him and his property, and he wants a report on file to get a protection order. Officers dropped off statements for the caller to fill out.
-- An officer on patrol on Aug. 2 on Green Lane observed a group of people loitering in the alley behind Tri-State Supply and an unnamed man with an open container of alcohol and issued him a citation for it. When the officer started to drive away, he observed David Gasior, 53, sitting on the loading dock with a can of alcohol beside him. The officer stopped again and while approaching Gasior and asked him if the can was his, Gasior picked up the can and began to drink from it. The officer took the can from him and dumped it out and issued him a citation with his court date to which Gasior asked the officer why he bothered because he wasn't going to court and then asked why the officer dumped his only beer.
-- Officers responding to a report of threats and harassment at a Pennsylvania Avenue residence on Aug. 2 spoke with the complainant who said a male was driving by his home and threatening him and that the male had thrown rocks at him and broke into his home. Caller further said that he had received threatening text messages from the male but was unable to show them to the officers. Officers noted that statements from an earlier claim made by the caller had not been completed. Officers made contact with the male who said he had not been near the caller's home and had no issues with him.
-- Officers spoke with a female on Aug. 2 who called and said she had been attacked by three dogs at a Beechwood Street and needed EMS. The officers took pictures of her injuries, and she gave them the address where the dogs were. The officers then spoke with the homeowner who told them that the dog owners and the dogs of the fight had already left because she didn't want her dog to get attacked and get in trouble. She said she did not know their names, and they were friends of her boyfriend who were dropping off appliances. The female declined medical treatment for the dog bites. No charges were filed since the parties could not be identified.
-- After receiving a call from a male on Aug. 2 who reported he found a bike in a dumpster and was now being accused of stealing it an officer went to his East Fourth Street residence and told the male there are no criminal charges as anyone can take items out of the trash. The male said he left he bike in the dumpster because he did not want any problems.
-- Joseph (JD) Mason, 42, was issued a citation for an open container in public after an officer observed him sitting on the steps behind Tri-State Glass on Aug. 2 with the container in his hands.
-- A female came to the police department on Aug. 3 to report a possible fraud attempt. She told the officer that a male had started messaging her after viewing her TikTok account and began asking her about cash app and gift cards and that the male appeared to be trying to get her info and have her send him money. She told the officer that she had not given him any information and he only had her cell phone number. The officer blocked the male from contacting her and suggested she check her credit to make sure there were no attempts to use her information and told her to report it if she finds any activity on credit report.
-- An officer conducted a welfare check on Aug. 3 on a female who was reported to not have been seen in five days after not getting an answer at her Moore Street residence the officer left and returned with a captain and the keys to the residence. Officers found no one and no signs of distress in the residence. Neighbors told officers it was not uncommon for the not to be seen in five days.
