-- Deputies were dispatched at 9:50 p.m. Saturday to state Route 39, Washington Township for a welfare check on a man. Another man said he wasn't at the residence but he was able to FaceTime him. Deputies spoke to him and he was fine and with his girlfriend.
-- A disturbance was reported at a Rochester Road, West Township property with lots of people yelling at 8:51 p.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, deputies were told multiple people left the residence prior to their arrival.
-- Someone was reported screaming at Oakdale Cemetery, Leetonia Road, Salem Township at 7:52 p.m. Saturday. Deputies didn't find anyone, but heard music and people singing at a residence near the cemetery.
-- A person was reported having mental health issues on Millrock Road, Unity Township at 4:46 p.m. Saturday. The person said they needed to go to a hospital. Columbiana EMS transported the person to a hospital in Mahoning County.
-- A man from North Carolina called at 4:45 p.m. Saturday to request a welfare check on his 9-year-old daughter because he couldn't make contact with her on FaceTime, saying he was staying with her mother on Lower Elkton Road, Fairfield Township. Deputies had no contact with anyone at the residence. He had called for a welfare check at 12:43 p.m. Friday also. A deputy spoke with the mother who advised they were supposed to have a FaceTime the day before, but it didn't happen and she said she would make sure it happens soon. The deputy spoke with the child, who was perfectly fine and playing video games and engaging in conversation. The deputy found no reason to believe there was anything unusual related to the child or her welfare.
-- A woman on Rochester Road, West Township reported at 8:55 p.m. Friday that people in a pickup were at a residence taking tires from the property. She said the Environmental Protection Agency told her no tires are to leave the property and she was concerned the tires would be dumped somewhere else. A deputy spoke to the property owner via phone and he said he still owns the residence and no one is to be there taking his tires.
-- Oakhill Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, Louisville, requested a welfare check at 3:43 p.m. Friday on a person who signed out against medical advice. A deputy spoke to the person at their residence on Georgetown Road, Knox Township. The person was fine and advised why they signed out AMA.
-- A man from Buck Road, Knox Township reported at 11:20 p.m. Thursday that he was en route to his residence and another man was waiting for him to come home and assault him over an argument over property. The deputy spoke to both men and they said they aren't having anymore contact with each other, with the other man leaving.
-- At 7:06 p.m. Thursday, Stark County Sheriff's Office requested a deputy check the welfare of an employee at a golf course in Knox Township who was making suicidal threats. The deputy checked the golf course and learned from staff the employee already left.
-- A man on Ridge Road, West Township reported at 2:41 p.m. Thursday that his neighbor's dogs were loose and came onto his property again. He was going to contact the county dog warden.
-- Neighbor troubles were reported at 1:31 p.m., July 29 on McCracken Road, Salem Township where a man advised the neighbor drove his lawn mower to his residence and told his wife to stay off of his property and to stop mowing his grass. The man said he did mow some of his grass but meant no harm. He was aware of the property line and just went on the other side of the trees. He wasn't happy with the neighbor using foul language to his wife. A deputy spoke with the neighbor who admitted he talked to the man's wife and he had mowed his property and his sister's property. The man agreed to stay on his side of the trees.
-- An assault was reported at 9:17 p.m. July 25 at Fireside Lake Campground, Rochester Road, West Township, with a warrant issued through Columbiana County Municipal Court for assault for an East Liverpool man.
-- During a traffic stop on state Route 7 at the Third Street exit in Wellsville, a deputy at 1:29 a.m. July 24 requested a K-9 officer on the scene, who alerted to the scent of narcotics when run around the vehicle. Deputies found miscellaneous drug paraphernalia and needles. The driver and passenger were detained, with all paraphernalia seized. All narcotic items were being turned over to the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.
-- Criminal mischief was reported at 10:10 p.m. July 23 on Cannon Mill Road, Madison Township.
-- Neighbor troubles were reported at 7:50 p.m. July 23 on Grant Street, Lisbon where a deputy spoke to both parties. The caller requested deputies trespass the other person, who was intoxicated at the time, from her property. The other person was told about the trespass order.
East Liverpool
-- Officers responding to a report of suicidal threats at the Vista Motel on July 14 spoke with a female who said she was not suicidal and refused medical treatment. The female told officers she was homeless and they provided were possible resources to use that could help her.
-- Officers conducted a welfare check at an Ambrose Street residence on July 14 after being told that a female called the police department requesting an ambulance for medical assistance and could be heard screaming over the phone. When officers arrived at the residence they spoke with the female who told them she was screaming as a reaction to her roommate punching the wall and injuring his hand. She also told officers the roommate left on foot to go to the city hospital for treatment.
-- Officers conducted a welfare check on a female at her Anderson Boulevard apartment on July 14 after her brother called to say that he had not heard from her in five days and she did not show up for work the night before. Police used forced entry to get into the apartment where they found the female deceased.
-- Dreyvan Walton, 29, was taken into custody and charged with failure to comply with an order or signal from a police officer and no driver's license after leading police on a pursuit at speed reaching 125 mph on state Route 7 on July 14. Walton told officers he fled when they tried to conduct a traffic stop on him on West 8th Street for speed and unable to read the registration, that he fled because he has an outstanding warrant in Columbiana County.
-- Michael Dodajlo was issued a citation for expired registration during a July 14 traffic stop on Pennsylvania Avenue. The vehicle was towed by First Class Towing.
-- An officer on patrol on July 14 saw Robert Davis standing near his car at the Mainland Gas Station on Pennsylvania Avenue and ran him through LEADS to see if he had any active warrants. When it came back that there was a warrant for him, the officer pulled into the gas station behind Davis's car, Davis took off on foot leaving his car with the keys in the ignition. The officer pursued Davis in his patrol car but lost sight of him. The officer requested First Class Towing and began to inventory the vehicle before the car was towed.
-- An officer investigated a portion of Pennsylvania Avenue on July 14 after receiving a report of suspicious activity and found a male messing with an air conditioning unit. The male, identified as Christopher Thomas, 41, told the officer he was charging his phone using an outlet next to the unit. Thomas was discovered to have an active warrant and was arrested for it.
-- A juvenile was transported to Tobin Center on July 15 after making threats to her mother that she was going to kill her.
-- An officer spoke with the owner of the property where AFK Gaming is located on July 15 about the increase in activity outside the establishment after speaking with the business owner who said there was a problem with people drinking alcohol there and has had complaints from customers someone passed out drunk. The business has no loitering signs posted. After speaking with the property owner and the business owner, they both gave permission to officers to trespass and charge anyone who continues loitering there.
-- Officers investigated a report of someone in a Fisher Avenue residence who wasn't supposed to be on July 15. Upon arrival at the residence officers found a female inside who said she was allowed to be there. Officers verified with the mother of the owner that she was allowed to be there.
-- Officers investigating a possible domestic situation at a Wilber Avenue residence on July 15 spoke to the male and female involved who both said it was just a verbal argument. The male left the residence to calm down.
-- At the request of the safety service director and officer went to Anderson Boulevard near Orchard Grove for a blue Ford Escape that keeps moving the road closed signs and driving through the construction zone. Workers were unable to get a license plate number.
-- Timothy Gibbs, 38, was arrested for an outstanding warrant on July 15 after an officer stopped to talk to him because he matched the description of a subject that was reported to be seen near Nikki's Lounge which is where the officer was heading to investigate an alarm.
-- Officers responding to a custody dispute at a Vine Street residence on July 15 told the children's' grandmother that she could not prevent their father who is the legal guardian from taking the children. The daughter said she did not want to go with her father, but with her mom not home she had to go with her dad.
-- Ryan Ostrander, 37, was taken into custody and charged with persistent disorderly conduct on July 15 after police were called to a Heights Manor residence after his girlfriend called to report that he was drunk and keeping her the kids up. The officer noted that Ostrander appeared to be severely intoxicated and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from him. Ostrander became erratic with officers and started being aggressive and loud.
-- Officers investigating a noise complaint of power tools and hammering come from a Thompson Avenue residence on July 15, found two males at the residence who said they were building a deck. The officer advised them of the noise complaint, and they said they were done for the remainder of the morning.
-- After checking on a male sleeping on the steps of a Dresden Avenue business on July 15 and finding out he was okay the officers advised him to get his belongings and be on his way.
St. Clair Township
-- Officers responded to a July 17 call at Walmart for a female who had fallen inside the store, possibly breaking her arm and striking her face on the concrete floor. East Liverpool EMS was already on the scene treating the female who was transported to the hospital when officers arrived.
-- Officers searched state Route 170 on July 17 for a female who was reported to be in roadway yelling at cars.
-- Officers assisted highway patrol in a July 17 traffic stop on Dresden Avenue where there were multiple people involved with one having an outstanding warrant.
-- Officers searched Duke Road on July 17 for a noise complaint they received in which the caller said it sounded like vehicles were drifting and hit something.
-- Officers assisting the sheriff's office with a warrant attempt at an Echo Dell Road residence on July 17 were not able to locate the person and were told the male did not live there.
-- An officer on patrol on July 17 observed a deputy on a traffic stop at Sheetz and stopped to check on the deputy who was serving a protection order.
-- An officer gave a ride to a male and his young son after finding them walking on state Route 11 on July 18. The male told the officer his vehicle broke down, and he was unable to find a ride or someone to come get the car. Calcutta Towing towed the car off the road.
-- Officers searched Calcutta Smith Ferry Road on July 18 for a male reported to be on a hoverboard soliciting.
-- Frederic Springer, 24, East Liverpool, was issued a citation for driving under suspension during a July 18 traffic stop on state Route 170.
