LISBON -- In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set Aug. 10 for Douglas L. Ritchie, 61, Bears Den Road, Leetonia, charged with third-degree felony domestic violence for allegedly striking a juvenile several times in the face during an argument when he was allegedly antagonizing and in the victim's face trying to get the victim to hit him on July 14 in Leetonia. The charge is a felony due to prior convictions.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Aug. 26 for Michael B. Delp, 49, East Eighth Street, Salem, charged with third-degree felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanor illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly smashing a glass pipe with burnt residue and eating a baggie of white powder during a traffic stop on July 27 in Salem.
Gage Matthew Gillespie, 18, Vine Street, East Liverpool, was fined $700 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 90 days suspended and credit for 14 days served, leaving 76 days still to serve for obstructing official business amended from felony obstructing justice, two counts receiving stolen property (with one amended from a felony) and resisting arrest. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to stay away from the victims. A pretrial was set Oct. 27 for multiple traffic charges, including bicycle on sidewalk, prohibited activity, hand and arm signals, lights and reflector on bicycle, skateboarding and reckless operation. A probation violation hearing for a 2026 case of theft and criminal damaging was set for Aug. 17. Gillespie was accused of possessing and spray painting a stolen dirt bike to evade detection of authorities on July 13 in East Liverpool. On June 29 in East Liverpool, a police officer spotted a man, identified as Gillespie, wanted on a warrant and when he went to place him in handcuffs, Gillespie pulled free and ran and was located behind an abandoned building where he was taken into custody. On June 22 in East Liverpool, he was riding a stolen bicycle through Giant Eagle, was confronted by the victim and ran away from the scene, with a lot of the traffic charges dealing with his operation of the bicycle.
Kyle Gattrell, 31, Staunton Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended, credit for one day served, and 29 days electronically monitored house arrest for aggravated menacing and assault. He was ordered to complete 50 hours community service and to stay away from the victim. Gattrell pushed a woman to the ground and hit her in the eye after an argument when he threatened to kill her and her family by saying he was getting his rifle and shooting up the house on Nov. 24, 2025 in St. Clair Township.
A pretrial was set Oct. 6 for Mark Alan Mills, 45, East Fourth Street, East Liverpool, charged with assault for allegedly grabbing a chair and throwing it at another man on April 29 in East Liverpool.
Tyler James Graham, 23, West Street, East Palestine, was fined $300 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 179 days suspended and credit for one day served, with 40 hours community service, for assault amended from domestic violence. On May 10 in East Palestine, Graham attempted to put his arm around a woman's neck, twisted her arm behind her back after they were pushing each other and slammed her on the ground.
A pretrial was set Oct. 7 for Dustin T. Whaley, 31, West Chestnut Street, Lisbon, charged with menacing for allegedly threatening a woman in Lisbon on July 27. He was allegedly seen on video screaming at her while his fists were balled up and saying he was going to whoop her.
A pretrial was set Sept. 23 for Jacob Cameron, 21, New Cumberland, W.Va., charged with endangering children for allegedly inhaling a narcotic and consuming an alcoholic beverage with a juvenile in the vehicle on May 26 in East Liverpool.
A sentencing hearing was set Sept. 8 for Timothy Robert Browning, 20, Campbell, who pleaded no contest to criminal damaging. He was accused of spray painting graffiti on the back and side of a building on North Market Street in East Palestine on May 5.
David Grimm, 51, New Castle, Pa., was fined $750 and given a suspended 180-day jail term, with 25 hours community service, for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He already completed a prostitution prevention course. Grimm responded to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranged for sexual activity with a woman in exchange for $140, then drove to East Palestine on May 26 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.
A pretrial was set Aug. 12 for Ryeasha Laelle Jordan, 30, Youngstown, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly leaving the county Municipal Court building after being served with a bench warrant for failing to appear on traffic charges. She had been told she was in custody and to stay in the lobby while paperwork was being done, but left the building and drove away and did not return.
Kenneth Paul Bach, 50, Market Street, Salineville, was fined $250 and given a suspended 180-day jail term, with 25 hours community service, for theft. He was ordered to have no contact with the Calcutta Walmart, where he left without paying for $155 in merchandise on Jan. 2.
Nevaeh L. Weidner, 22, Canfield, was fined $250 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 26 days suspended and credit for four days served, for underage consumption, with 30 hours community service. Weidner was a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop on June 11, 2024 in Columbiana and admitted an open container of Twisted Tea belonged to her.
Payton Carter Robey, 20, Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $1,165 and sentenced to 180 day in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, with $500 of the fine suspended, for operating a vehicle impaired and no license, with 40 hours community service. His license was suspended for one year.
A pretrial was set Oct. 5 for Michael P. McKenzie Jr., 30, Fair Avenue, Salem, charged with OVI, OVI breath and marked lanes.
A pretrial was set Sept. 29 for Tyler John Fullum, 27, Second Street, Hanoverton, charged with OVI, OVI breath and marked lanes.
A pretrial was set Sept. 21 for Amanda Sue Evans, 40, Berlin Center, charged with OVI, OVI breath and left of center.
Melissa R. Brink, 46, McKinley Avenue, Lisbon, was fined $715 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 84 suspended and credit for six days served for physical control amended from OVI and driving under suspension, with 20 hours community service. A charge of failure to display valid sticker was dismissed. Her license was suspended for one year.
