— Officers investigating a possible crash from an iPhone crash detection alert on June 19 in the 700 block of Minerva Street checked the area but found no signs of a crash. The 911 caller’s mother later called the station and said her son had his phone sitting on the car, and it fell off as they drove away.

— Officers investigated a complaint from a driver on state Route 7 who said he was driving and a tire came flying at his car hit his driver’s side door on June 20. The driver told the officer he remembered seeing a broke down jeep that was missing a front tire. The driver had already left the scene when he called and was advised by the officer that since he had already left the scene and was in Weirton, West Virginia, at the time he called a report would be made but the accident could not be fully investigated. Another officer located the jeep and spoke to the owner who said his tire did not strike anybody as a passerby had helped him get it from the middle of the road. The officer took his information for the report.
