LISBON — In Columbiana County Common Please, Mberwa Murjani Mberwa, 23, Pittsburgh, Pa., pleaded guilty to third-degree felony compelling prostitution, fifth-degree felony possessing criminal tools and misdemeanor engaging in prostitution. He is accused of allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website of an adult mother trafficking her minor daughter and arranging for sexual activity with both females in exchange for $100, then arriving in East Palestine on Oct. 24, 2025 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession. Sentencing is set Aug. 20.
Also in common pleas court:
Brandon Staudacher, 34, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a fifth-degree felony, and and misdemeanor endangering children, for an incident on June 7, 2025 when he allegedly failed to follow police commands and put a child at risk. He was originally also charged with a third-degree felony count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer. Sentencing is set Aug. 20.
Grand Jury
LISBON — A Wellsville resident accused of stealing a credit card from an elderly person was recently served a secret indictment out of the Columbiana County Grand Jury.
Jessica Jean Morris, 48, Anderson Avenue, is charged with theft from a person in a protected class, a fourth-degree felony; receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony; and misuse of credit cards, a first-degree misdemeanor. She allegedly deprived an elderly person of $1,585.25 through the theft of a credit card Oct. 11 through 14, 2025.
Also served a secret indictment:
Ryan M. Powell, 42, state Route 164, Leetonia, charged with possession of heroin, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and possession of cocaine, all fifth-degree felonies, and possession of drug (diazepam), a first-degree misdemeanor, for allegedly possessing the drugs Nov. 22, 2025.
