Sheriff’s Office

— An alarm was reported at 8:26 p.m. Wednesday at AG-PRO, U.S. Route 62, Knox Township. A deputy responded and found all doors and windows secure at ground level and all security cords on equipment secure also.

— A man from Depot Road, Hanover Township, reported at 1 p.m. Wednesday that three years ago he gave a nephew a 1982 Chevy El Camino as a gift titled in the nephew’s name. He learned that the nephew passed away a week ago in Youngstown and his mother took the El Camino from where he lived, possibly to this county. He was told it’s a civil matter that appeared to occur in Mahoning County and he should contact an attorney. He advised he contacted Probate Court in Mahoning County but did not want to travel to Youngstown to file paperwork with the court, saying he doesn’t want to claim an interest in the car, but wanted to make sure Probate Court was aware of the car so no one tries to steal it.

— A residential alarm was reported on Depot Road, Lisbon at 3:02 a.m. Wednesday, with the owner checking the cameras and reporting viewing a woman on the property attempting to gain entrance to the residence. A woman was located walking down the driveway and could not state a lawful reason for why she was there. Kacandra I Seddon, 45, Lisa Lane, Lisbon, was taken into custody and taken to jail for criminal trespass.

— A resident on Parkview Drive, Center Township reported at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday that drug addicts are walking up and down the road looking in windows and walking on peoples’ properties, saying this has been going on for 15 months. The report was sent to the Columbiana County Drug Task Force.

— A woman on state Route 45, Salem Township reported at 6:24 p.m. Saturday that she found empty pill bottles in her bathroom and does not remember taking the medicine.

— Deputies were dispatched at 9:26 p.m. May 29 to state Route 170, Unity Township, for a disturbance with a man trying to fight everyone. Dispatch reported receiving a 911 call with lots of screaming and yelling and the caller would not give much information. Upon arrival with East Palestine police officers, deputies were advised by multiple family members that the man left on a motorcycle heading south on state Route 170. No assaults were reported, just a verbal altercation.

— A woman on state Route 518, Franklin Township, reported at 8:52 p.m. May 29 that her ex-boyfriend, of Austintown, has been sitting in his vehicle down the road from her residence and is driving past her residence taking pictures.

— Deputies were dispatched at 8:30 p.m. May 29 to Padgett Road, Unity Township, for a person having mental health issues. Multiple family members were present and Negley EMS transported the person to a hospital in Pennsylvania.

— A caller at 12:04 a.m. Saturday from Waterford Road, Unity Township reported hearing loud noises in the back yard. A deputy responded and checked the premises and the neighbor’s property. Nothing suspicious was located.

— David A. Heddleston III, 51, and Heather Lee Sluss, 42, both listed as homeless, were taken into custody on charges of breaking and entering after a deputy was dispatched at 10:02 p.m. May 29 to a state Route 39, Yellow Creek Township property for a breaking and entering in progress at a vacant home. Both were taken to the Columbiana County jail.

— Suspicious activity was reported at 1:48 a.m. May 28 at Orchard Knoll Drive, Hanover Township, where a caller reported a neighbor’s garage door up and then closed a few times through the night. Deputies arrived and found the garage door open and lights on inside. Deputies attempted to make contact and found the door unlocked, then when preparing to enter, the garage door closed and then reopened. Deputies believed there was a short in the opener, checked the interior which appeared undisturbed and then secured the garage door and the rest of the residence.

— Deputies responded at 4:34 a.m. May 28 for a welfare check called in by a hotline for a resident on Failer Road, Unity Township. Deputies were unable to make contact. The call had come in earlier at 12:29 a.m., but deputies were tied up on other calls. The premises was found secure. Deputies were called to the same residence on May 16 for a man who called a hotline making comments of self harm and spoke to the resident, who was intoxicated and only wanted someone to talk to since he was depressed. He said he didn’t want to harm himself and appeared capable of taking care of himself.

Highway Patrol

— Daniel P. Leverknight, 19, state Route 517, Columbiana, was cited for reasonable control after his southbound vehicle on state Route 164 in Wayne Township failed to negotiate a curve and went off of the right side of the road and struck a utility pole at 8:18 a.m. June 2. No injuries were reported.

— Linda L. McLaughlin, 67, West Main Street, New Waterford, was cited for left of center after she turned from Crestview Road onto Unity Line Road in Unity Township at 10:06 a.m. May 29 and traveled left of center, striking a vehicle driven by Brianne E. Campbell, 20, Unity Line Road, New Waterford, who was stopped at the stop sign on Unity Line Road. No injuries were reported.

— Clark E. Geer, 24, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, suffered suspected serious injuries after his southbound motorcycle on state Route 45 in Yellow Creek Township struck a deer that ran into the road at 7:49 a.m. May 29. Geer was transported by Lifeteam EMS to East Liverpool City Hospital.

— Jordan M. Custer, 22, Jefferson Street, Salineville, was cited for reasonable control after his northeastbound vehicle on state Route 164 in Wayne Township crossed the center line and drove off of the left side of the road, striking a ditch, which caused the vehicle to overturn and travel back onto the road at 7:42 p.m. May 24. No injury was reported.

— Two Salem police vehicles collided at 11:38 p.m. May 22 in Salem Township when both were westbound on state Route 14 and a cruiser driven by Tanor English made a U-turn with emergency lights activated to travel eastbound to initiate a traffic stop and was struck by a cruiser driven by Lindsay Fraas. No citation was listed on the report and no injuries were reported.

— Mor Ngom, 48, Union City, Ga., was cited for reasonable control after the semi he was driving north on Bowman Street in Knox Township traveled off of the road at 2:53 p.m. May 22 and overturn, striking a ditch. No injury was reported.

— A hit/skip was reported at 1:58 p.m. May 22 when a semi with an unknown driver was stopped southbound and backed into another vehicle stopped southbound driven by Jaime Lyn Horoszko, 46, Seville Lane, East Liverpool, striking the front of her vehicle. No injury was reported.

— Christopher M. Tustin, 48, Chester, W.Va.,, was cited for assured clear distance, failure to stop after an accident and driving under suspension after his southbound vehicle on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township struck another southbound vehicle driven by Austin D. Reitter, 25, Weirton, W.Va., and fled the scene at 4:11 p.m. May 11. No injuries were reported.

— Robert K. Rhinehart, 78, Youngstown, was cited for a stop sign violation after failing to yield for a stop sign while eastbound on U.S. Route 30 and struck a northbound vehicle on state Route 7 driven by Rachel Thrasher, 32, Annesley Road, East Liverpool at 8:38 a.m. May 21 in Madison Township. No injuries were reported.

— Zachary S. Orgovan, 26, Chester, W.Va., was cited for reasonable control after his northbound vehicle on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township traveled off of the road and struck a sign, culvert and embankment at 6:35 a.m. May 21. No injury was reported.
