Highway Patrol
— Gertrude D. Evans, 82, North Front Street, Negley, was cited for improper passing after her southbound Chevy Trailblazer attempted to pass a southbound U.S. postal vehicle driven by Nichole J. Boles, 41, state Route 154, Rogers, on state Route 170 in Unity Township at 11:04 a.m. April 21 and struck it when the postal vehicle was turning into a private drive. A passenger in the Evans’ vehicle suffered possible injury.
— Angel B. Brightbill, 25, Hazel Run Road, Salineville, was cited for reasonable control after her northwestbound GMC Acadia traveled off of the right side of state Route 45 in Salem Township at 9:20 a.m. April 19 and struck a ditch. No injury was reported.
— Jason J. Kalasky, 48, Youngstown, was cited for improper passing and failure to stop after an accident after his westbound Chevy Equinox on state Route 154 in Elkrun Township passed a westbound Toyota Tundra driven by Raymond E. Daniels, 63, Vienna, on a double yellow line and struck the Daniels’ vehicle when re-entering the westbound lane at 11:01 a.m. April 18. No injuries were reported.
— An unknown vehicle traveling northbound on Hunston Road onto state Route 170 struck a southbound Ram 1500 driven by Thomas R. Couche, 59, West Middletown Road, Columbiana, on state Route 170 as it was turning onto state Route 14 and fled the scene at 7:45 a.m. April 17. No injury was reported.
— Tiffany Martino, 54, Youngstown, was cited for a stop sign violation after a two-vehicle crash at 7:27 a.m. April 17 at the intersection of state Routes 14 and 165 in Unity Township. A Ford Mustang driven by Paul R. Daniels, 65, Beaver Falls, Pa. was westbound on state Route 14 when Martino’s Subaru Outback stopped for the stop sign on state Route 165 and started turning onto state Route 14 and was struck by the Daniels’ vehicle. Daniels suffered a suspected serious injury and was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown by East Palestine EMS. Martino suffered a suspected minor injury.
— Zoee L. Savage, 19, South Green Street, Lisbon, was cited for reasonable control and transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown by Winona Fire/EMS for suspected minor injuries after her Nissan Versa traveled off of state Route 45 in Salem Township to the right, crossed the center line, drove off the roadway to the right, struck a ditch and struck a pole at 3:57 p.m. April 16.
— Mervin Jones, 79, McSwiggen Road, Salineville, was cited for reasonable control, operating a vehicle impaired and OVI blood first offense after his northbound Chevy Silverado drove off of the right side of state Route 644 in Franklin Township and struck a guardrail at 9:38 p.m. April 16.
Wellsville
— Officers arrived to the intersection 15th and Commerce streets on April 14 for juveniles who were fighting and found the juveniles running off in different directions. A juvenile female who officers spoke with said the juveniles were going to run a “friendly fade” which is said to be a play fight. Officers spoke with two other juvenile females who said they did not actually fight. The officers then spoke with one of the female’s mothers and the other female’s uncle. Officers were later called back to Garfield Elementary School for the same scenario and were told this time two female juveniles did fight and were shown a video of it. Officers spoke to one of the females’ parents and the other female’s grandparents who all said they did not want to press charges
— Officers spoke with a male at a Clark Avenue residence who told them he had been assaulted by a male and a female on 19th Street on April 15.
— Officers advised two juvenile males who were fighting on Maple Avenue on April 16 to stay away from each other and told both their mothers to keep the juveniles away from each other.
