Wellsville
— A female called the station on April 2 who reported the front door to her Main Street residence was open when she go home and her dogs were gone. An officer told her to call the dog warden and report her dogs running away and that she could come to the station to file a report. She declined and hung up. She then called back and said her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend had broken in and taken the dogs. She went to the police department to fill out a statement and left without doing so. Following several more calls the dogs which had run away were located by the owners.
St. Clair Township
— An officer spoke with a female over the phone on March 26 who said that while she was at TJ MAXX shopping she was followed by an unknown male who said he was a federal air agent and was asking her all kinds of questions and he knew her name, her dog’s name and where she lived. The female was advised to come to the police department and give a detailed statement.
— Officers searched an area of East Liverpool Road on March 26 for a reported reckless driver.
— Officers checked a building on state Route 170 and found it appeared to be secure after investigating an alarm on March 26.
— Officers stood by at a St. Clair Avenue business on March 26 while an ex-employee gathered her belongings.
— Officers advised dispatch to let the highway patrol know of a semi reported to driving recklessly while getting ready to go northbound on state Route 11 on March 26 since it was the patrol’s jurisdiction.
— Officers investigating a dog bite at a Bell School Road residence on March 26 were told by the dog’s owner that it was a Spark driver that was bit and he was instructed in Spark notes to not exit his vehicle prior to the owner being on the property, but the driver had arrived on the property, blew the horn which riled the dogs, and exited the vehicle. The driver refused medical treatment and the dogs were had rabies vaccines.
— Daniel Ross, Weirton, West Virginia was trespassed from an Annesley Road property on March 26 after a female said he was threatening her and she wanted him removed.
— A verbal warning was issued to a driver who was stopped on Y&O Road on March 26 for an expired registration. The driver told the officer he was in the process of buying the vehicle was unaware the registration had expired.
Sheriff’s Office
— A deputy responded at 4:17 p.m. Wednesday to Elkton Auto Corral, Scroggs Road, Elkrun Township, for an alarm, but the owner advised it was a false alarm.
— James Merino, 68, Benton Road, Salem, was charged with burglary, a fourth-degree felony, and taken to the Columbiana County jail after deputies were dispatched at 3:44 p.m. Wednesday to a burglary at a residence on Lisa Lane, Center Township. The residents alleged that Merino kicked in their door and entered the residence. A deputy noted damage to the door. Merino, who’s the land owner, was evicting the victims from an adjacent property, however, the property where the incident occurred was not noted in the eviction notice.
— A woman on state Route 14, Unity Township, reported at 3:21 p.m. Wednesday that her sister-in-law, in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, was continuously harassing her by telephone. A deputy spoke with the sister-in-law by telephone and told her to have no contact with the woman.
— A woman on Depot Road, Center Township, reported at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday that she just reviewed her video surveillance and saw a person in a gray hoodie trying to get into her back porch at 2:30 a.m. April 5.
— A Canton caller at 9:27 p.m. Tuesday requested a welfare check on her son and daughter who live with their grandmother on Ridge Road, West Township. She wanted the welfare check due to not being able to make contact with them. A deputy spoke by telephone with the grandmother who said everything was fine and said they do not want any contact with the caller. The deputy spoke with the caller by telephone and she was advised.
— A woman on Salem Alliance Road, Butler Township at Deer Run Mobile Home Park reported at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday that her neighbor was spinning his tires on his vehicle and rocks went onto her vehicle. There was no damage at this time.
— A man on Cream Ridge Road, Elkrun Township reported at 8:48 p.m. Tuesday that people were trespassing on his property. A deputy checked the property but didn’t find anyone.
— Deputies were dispatched at 7:19 p.m. Tuesday to Rochester Road, West Township for a person who was making suicidal threats. The person was transported to a hospital in Summit County by family members.
— A man from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania reported at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday that he had his black 1994 Chevrolet 2500 Truck parked on a Cannon Mills Road, Madison Township property and now it’s missing.
East Liverpool
— An officer spoke with an Oak Street resident who said on March 25 she was being harassed by two people walking by her house and yelling at the residents. The officer said he would try to locate them and tell them to stay away.
— An officer responding to a Riley Avenue resident to check out an open 911 call on March 25 spoke with a resident who said a male driving at a high rate of speed almost hit his child and he yelled at him to tell him to slow down due to children in the area. He also said the driver told him he would end him and while appearing to reach into the door area of the vehicle. The male then told the driver he had a shotgun inside the house at which point the driver drove off. The driver told officers he saw a female and a child and slowed down which is in when the male came up to his vehicle and told him he had a shotgun in the house but never threatened to use it. The driver was advised to slow down while on Riley Avenue.
— Officers pushed a disabled vehicle off the street on Walnut Street and helped the driver to try to figure out what was wrong on March 25. The vehicle started with remote start on the key fob.
— Officers checked a house on Market Street on March 25 after it was reported that an upstairs window which is usually shut was open. Officers entered and found no one in the room. A female said they were last up there on Feb. 28 and that a 70-inch TV was missing from the back room.
— An officer spoke to a Eturia Street resident on May 25 who said that while she was on her computer her mouse started moving then her Amazon account opened up. She said she quickly shut down the computer to keep anything from being ordered. When asked if she checked the account to see if anything had been charged, she said no. She was unable to log into her account using her phone. She told the officer she was taking the computer to have it worked on, and the officer asked that she report her findings to the police and also report if her Amazon account had been charged. As of March 28, nothing had been reported.
