LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a Salineville woman has been bound over to the grand jury for allegedly having a knife out at the Utica Shale Academy.
Britania B. Brown, 44, Haiti Road, is charged with illegal conveyance or possession of a deadly weapon in a school safety zone, a fifth-degree felony.
Salineville police officers were called to the Utica Shale school on East Main Street, Salineville on Jan. 14 for a report of a woman with a knife and found Brown a few blocks away at BK Beverage. A police affidavit said she admitted to having a knife open while in the presence of a school teacher while at the school and had the knife in her possession.
Brown was also sentenced to 20 days in jail for criminal trespass and breaking and entering in which she entered an outbuilding of the Assembly of God in Salineville and caused damage July 16.
David Alan Michael Talbott, 35, Henry Avenue, East Liverpool, was bound over to the grand jury for receiving stolen property, at fourth-degree felony, theft and possession of drug abuse instrument for allegedly taking a vehicle without permission March 4 and being found at a Calcutta business in possession of a hypodermic needle.
Wendel Duane Powell, 49, North Jackson, was bound over to the grand jury for tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, for allegedly stomping on a burnt pipe while exiting a vehicle following a traffic stop on West Eighth Street, East Liverpool, in which he was a passenger. A pretrial has also been scheduled for April 6 for a headlight violation.
A sentencing hearing was scheduled April 6 for Isaiah Tyrique Cambridge, 28, St. George St., East Liverpool, charged with criminal mischief for allegedly slicing the tire on a vehicle March 7.
Damien Troy Waggoner, 20, state Route 164, was fined $100, sentenced to 30 days in jail (17 suspended and 13 credited), placed on one year of probation and ordered to have no contact with the victim for domestic violence in which he threatened a member of the household with violence Feb. 26.
Kenneth Bragg, 33, Youngstown, was fined $150, sentenced to 90 days in jail (89 suspended, one credited), placed on two years probation and ordered to complete 50 hours community service for obstructing official business.
Richard Allen Powell, 37, Campground Road, Wellsville, was fined $75 for a taillight violation. A charge of driving under suspension was dismissed.
