Sheriff’s Office

— A juvenile-related report was taken at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday on Lowmiller Road, West Township, with a copy sent to Child Protective Services.

— A woman on Millrock Road, Unity Township requested a report be placed on file at 3:31 p.m. Tuesday, per Medicare, that someone hacked into her husband’s account.

— Robert Byrd Jr., 45, Tallmadge, was charged with two counts of menacing for allegedly knowingly threatening deputies while in the line of duty during an incident at East Liverpool City Hospital, where he had been transported from the jail. According to a sheriff’s report, he attempted to order extra food and drinks in violation of department policy. He was told about the policy and that he would not be able to order any additional items. He then allegedly became belligerent and disruptive, threatening to kick a deputy in the head and threatening to project bodily fluid at the deputy. Another deputy was requested and Byrd was further restrained to the hospital bed. He attempted to resist deputies as they cuffed him to the headboard.

— Deputies were dispatched at 6:46 p.m. Sunday to Plymouth Street, Hanoverton regarding menacing. Deputies spoke to all parties involved. After an investigation, Tyler McClish, 29, Quaker Church Road, East Rochester, was taken into custody on a charge of menacing and taken to the county jail.

— A suspicious person was reported at 8:48 p.m. March 7 when a resident on Steubenville Pike Road, Washington Township reported a man walking on the property and leaving towards state Route 39. The area was checked, but no one was found.

— A 15-year-old student from Yellow Creek Township was taken into custody and transported to the Tobin detention center after deputies were called at 5:39 p.m. March 7 to Southern Local Schools, state Route 39, Washington Township, for a breaking and entering report. The SRO had a student detained inside the school after hours.

— Ohio Department of Natural Resources personnel at 4:35 p.m. March 7 requested a deputy assist them with a person who has an active warrant out of Stark County at the small Zeppernick Lake on state Route 172, West Township. A deputy stood by while ODNR took Maurice D. Malik-Wilson, Canton, into custody without incident.

— Deputies responded to JPI on state Route 518, Wayne Township at 4:38 a.m. March 7 for a person to be removed. The caller said a woman had shown up and was hitting an employee and also damaging a vehicle in the parking lot. When deputies arrived, the woman had fled the property. The employee who was assaulted refused to press charges or cooperate.

— Deputies responded at 5:29 a.m. March 7 to Y & O Road, Madison Township for a report of prowlers. Deputies checked the residence and out buildings, but no one was located and there was no evidence located of persons on the property.

— A property dispute was reported at 5:42 p.m,. March 6 on U.S. Route 30, but when a deputy tried to return the call three times, the call was sent to a full mailbox each time.

— A possible prowler was reported at 2:07 a.m. March 6 on Foundry Hill Road, Franklin Township. Deputies spoke with the resident and checked the exterior and interior of the residence, with no one located and no evidence of any persons on the property located.

— Deputies were dispatched at 6:21 p.m. March 2 to Hanoverton in reference to a can of root beer being thrown from a vehicle and striking a pedestrian between his legs under his groin. The pedestrian named the male suspect, with a warrant for assault issued for the suspect.
