LISBON–A Salem man served a day in jail and was fined $150 for entering a business with a knife.

Carl Cranston, 46, McCracken Road, Salem, was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 29 days suspended and credit for one day served, ordered to have no contact with the involved business and fined $150 for menacing, amended from aggravated menacing for entering a bar with an approximately 5-to-6-inch knife and walking toward a man in Salem on Aug. 16.

Denver Jeffrey, 28, Cranseville Road, Greenville, Pa.,was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended, 40 hours of community service, and fined $750 for two counts of possessing criminal tools, of which one count was amended from engaging in prostitution, and an additional charge of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle was dismissed. The charges stem from an incident on May 27, 2025, when he drove to Salem to meet with an undercover agent of the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force for sexual conduct in exchange for $140 and possessed the cell phone used to arrange the criminal act at that time.

Amber Burkey, 36, Wayland Road, Deerfield, was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 87 days suspended and credit for one day served, 20 hours of community service, and fined $615 for OVI, and reasonable control.

Tamera Priest, 54, West Market Street, Alliance, was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 177 days suspended, 40 hours of community service, and fined $1205 for OVI, left of center, and a seatbelt violation.

Swayne Ellison, 51, Main Street, Wellsville, was fined $200 for driving under suspension and a turn signal violation.

Roman Capuano, 27, West Seventh Street, Salem, was fined $195 for speeding and no operator’s license, amended from driving under suspension.

Joshua Taylor, 33, Cullowhee Mountain Road, Cullowhee, North Carolina, was fined $100 for unsafe vehicle amended from reckless operation.

A pretrial and preliminary hearing were set Feb. 17 for William Payton, 21, Roxboro Drive, Hudson, Fla., charged with second-degree felony felonious assault and misdemeanor charges of contributing to the unruliness of a child, failure to comply, and two counts of endangering children for allegedly assaulting a man with a pipe and inducing two juveniles to participate in the assault, and fleeing from officers in a pickup truck with the two juveniles as passengers in East Liverpool on June 13, 2024.

A pretrial was set Feb. 23 for Howard Eammon Jr., 29, Pugh Road, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence, criminal damaging or endangering, and criminal trespass for allegedly entering a residence unwelcomed through an unlocked back door striking a woman in the face causing minor injuries, and punching her television screen in Wellsville on Jan. 11.

A pretrial was set April 20 for Kelly Kuttler, 36, West Washington Street, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence for allegedly striking a woman in the head with an open hand during an argument in Lisbon on Feb. 7.

A pretrial was set Feb. 18 for William Barker, 39, Irish Ridge Road, East Liverpool, charged with menacing for allegedly telling a woman that he was “going to knock [her] jaw clean off [her] face” via Facebook Messenger in East Liverpool on Jan. 21.

A pretrial was set Feb. 23 for Ronald Keller, 52, Murray Avenue, Minerva, charged with assault for allegedly pulling another man off the stairs and onto the ground inside of a residence during a physical altercation after a verbal dispute in East Liverpool on Feb. 8.

A pretrial was set Feb. 23 for Timothy Bell, 48, Dewey Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with assault for allegedly striking a man in the head and left eye causing a cut and bleeding to the left eyelid during a physical altercation after a verbal dispute in East Liverpool on Feb. 8.

A pretrial was set April 13 for Nathan Roush, 22, state Route 170, East Palestine, charged with assault for allegedly following a person out of a restaurant and striking them in the head and slamming them into the ground in the parking lot in Salem on Feb. 6.

A pretrial was set Feb. 18 for Luke Decker, 23, Realty Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pa., charged with permitting drug abuse for allegedly transporting a man to East Palestine to meet with an undercover agent from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force in exchange for marijuana, permitting the man to possess cocaine within the vehicle on Feb. 6.

A pretrial was set April 20, for Santos Andres, 46, Buttonwood Drive, Manhattan, Kansas, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly arranging to meet with an undercover agent from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force for sexual conduct in exchange for $120 and possessing the cellular device used to arrange the criminal act on Feb. 7 in Unity Township.

A pretrial was set April 21 for Ahmad Alsadeq, 21, Market Street, Boardman, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly arranging to meet with an undercover agent from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force for sexual conduct in exchange for $30 and possessing the cellular device used to arrange the criminal act on Feb. 9 in Unity Township.

A pretrial was set Feb. 23 for Andrew Smith, 39, Beard Road, New Waterford, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set April 13 for Sara Martin, 42, Hazel Run Road, Salineville, charged with driving while texting.

A pretrial was set April 22 for Thomas Clark, 33, La Croft Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with OVI and reasonable control.

A pretrial was set March 2 for Joseph Mitchell, 36, West Rocky Way, Grantsville, Utah, charged with driving under suspension.

LISBON — Frank B. Gardner, 30, Toronto, was served recently with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for two counts of nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly failing to pay child support for two children from Nov. 5, 2023 to Nov. 2, 2025.
