Sheriff’s Office
— Deputies responded at 4:57 p.m. Monday to Hazel Run Road, Washington Township, to conduct a welfare check and were able to make contact with the parties involved. Deputies found all parties to be in good health.
— Deputies were dispatched at 10:55 p.m. Sunday to Sherwood Road, Yellow Creek Township, regarding an assault. While en route, deputies were told one of the persons had an active warrant. Deputies arrived and spoke to both parties involved, with the person with a warrant taken into custody upon further confirmation. The name of the person taken into custody and taken to jail was not listed on the report. The complainant gave a verbal refusal to pursue additional charges.
— A deputy at 10:53 p.m. Saturday was dispatched to Meadow Wood Drive, Butler Township, for a juvenile-related report.
— A welfare check was requested at 1:15 p.m. Friday, with a deputy arriving at 4 p.m. on East Liverpool Road, Madison Township. The deputy spoke with the mother of the person involved and was told the person was okay.
Highway Patrol
— William Stock, of Laughlin Road in Lisbon, was cited at 4:17 p.m. Jan. 27 in Madison Township for a lanes of travel violation, after traveling left of center while northbound on West Point Road and striking a southbound vehicle driven by Howard W. Bott, of West Main Street in Salineville.
–A two-vehicle Unity Township crash still is under investigation as of Feb. 10. According to troopers, Joseph Kobikla, of New Castle, was northeast bound on Pidgeon Road when he was struck left of center by a southbound vehicle before overturning. The vehicle was left unoccupied at the scene; however, a responding fire crew found an old traffic ticket written to Patrick Bender in the vehicle. Patrol attempted numerous times to reach out to Bender, who deferred them to talk to his attorney. Upon contact to Bender’s attorney, troopers were notified that Bender is not currently on their client list.
