East Liverpool
— An officer responded on Dec. 23 to a Pennsylvania Avenue residence for a complaint about a semi-truck driver driving past the residence and blowing his horn six or seven times.
— An officer on Dec. 23 observed a NorthStar Ambulance on the side of West Second Street with its hazard lights on and stopped to check on it. The EMTs told the officer they were in route with a patient to a nursing home in Chester when they hit a pothole and lost all power in the ambulance. East Liverpool Fire Department was unable to transport the patient, so they were waiting for another NorthStar ambulance to arrive.
— A verbal warning was issued to a driver for no headlights following a Dec. 23 traffic stop on Pennsylvania Avenue. The driver told officers the knob for her headlights was broken, and she had to mess with it sometimes to get them to come on. She was able to get the lights to work before leaving the traffic stop.
— After receiving a third-party call about a possible domestic situation at a Wilbert Avenue residence on Dec. 24, officers were able to make contact with a female who said an altercation became physical at one point, but she did not want to speak with an officer or pursue charges.
— An officer checked the area of Chester Avenue and Morton Street on Dec. 24 for an open 9-1-1 call but did not see or hear anything out of the ordinary.
— Officers checked on a noise complaint on Dec. 25 at a Shadylane residence, spoke to a female who said her children were playing.
— A male reported to be drunk, diabetic and aggressive was transported by NorthStar from a St. George Street residence after police arrived and contacted EMTs.
— An officer responded to a report of suspicious activity on Dresden Avenue on Dec. 25 was told that a black male was loitering and used the BP’s microwave to cook noodles. The male left was the officer was en route. The male later came to the station and asked where he could stand to wait for a ride. The officer told him there was a Carts Bus stop outside the police department. The male went to the stop to wait for a ride.
— Officers on Dec. 25 arrived at a bridge on Route 30 to speak with a suicidal man who called the suicide hotline with threats to jump off the bridge. The male told the officers that he did not feel that he got the help he needed from East Liverpool City Hospital and that he was still experiencing suicidal thoughts and wanted to go to the Boardman Hospital. The officers were able to get NorthStar on the scene and they transported the male to the Boardman hospital.
— An officer received a call from the BP Gas Station telling him they wanted a male removed on Dresden Avenue on Dec. 25. Officers were unable to locate a male matching the description provided.
— An officer spoke with a male at the station on Dec. 25 who told him he was depressed, suicidal and was planning to jump into oncoming traffic. The officer pink slipped the male who told him he was pink slipped earlier in the day and taken to East Liverpool City Hospital where a mental health worker told him she would not place him in a facility. The male was taken back to the hospital and later called the police department back saying the hospital would not help him again and the officer provided the male the male with information to seek counseling through other resources.
— Officers checked the 2100 block of Ohio Avenue on Dec. 25 after receiving a call from someone stating that they heard a gunshot.
— An officer responding to a private property crash on Shadylane Drive on Dec. 26 filed a report for the involved parties.
— Officers on Dec. 26 conducted a warrant check at Woodland Hills Apartments for Zach Rudder, age and address not provided, after being notified that Rudder has an outstanding warrant for theft. Officers were advised by a taxi service that has been Rudder from using their taxis, that a caller using Rudder’s name had called and requested a taxi from the apartments. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate him.
— A driver was issued a verbal warning for running a stop light following a Dec. 26 traffic stop on Dresden Avenue.
— An officer received a call regarding a male walking on Jim Walker Way on Dec. 26. The officer searched the area and found no one walking on or near the roadway.
— Residents at Shadylane residence told officers responding to a noise complaint on Dec. 26 that they would be quiet for the remainder of the morning.
— Officers transported a male who was found passed out in the driver seat of his vehicle on Maryland Street on Dec. 26 to a family member’s residence to give him time to sober up. The male was not the registered owner of the vehicle. The officers took the keys so the male could not return and get the truck and told the male the owner could pick the truck up at the police station.
— Officers after checking a Riverview Street residence on Dec. 26 due to an alarm sounding, found all entry doors and windows to the home to be secure and found no evidence of any tampering or forced entry.
— A driver was given a verbal warning for no headlights following a Dec. 26 traffic stop on Jefferson Street.
St. Clair Township
— Officers checked a Glenn Street residence on Dec. 29 after a female called and said she was at the hospital and just given birth when a male known to her stole her key and left. The female said the male has never lived at that residence, but when officers ran his information, it came back to that address. The female also said the male told her he was at the residence and was going to burn it down. Officers checked the residence.
— An officer checked state Route 267 on Dec. 31 for an alarm drop and found the building secure.
— A driver was given a verbal warning following a Dec. 31 traffic stop on state Route 11 for no visible plate. During the traffic stop, the officer discovered a temporary tag in the rear window which was not visible due to the window being dirty.
— An officer who observed a disabled vehicle on Dec. 31 on Dresden Avenue spoke to the driver who said she was struck on Dresden Avenue. The officer was able to get the driver turned around so she could park the vehicle for the evening.
— An officer located a single car accident on state Route 11 on Dec. 31, but the accident was in Liverpool Township.
— Officers stood by while a female gathered some items from an East Liverpool Road residence on Dec. 31.
— Officers found Boost Mobile to be secure after responding to an alarm at the location on Dec. 31.
— Officer located a male that the manager at Quality Inn wanted trespassed from the property at Sheetz on Jan. 1 after following his tracks in the snow. The officers told the male he was not allowed back at the Quality Inn property, or he would face charges.
— An officer sent to Dresden Avenue for a truck reported with no lights searched the area but did not locate the truck on Jan.1
— An officer arrived at Sheetz on Jan. 1 for a male that had been involved in a theft earlier in the day, but the male had already left prior to his arrival.
— An officer on patrol observed an SUV parked off the side of the road on Dresden Avenue on Jan. 1 with its flasher lights on and spoke with the driver who said he was out of gas. The officer contacted Calcutta Towing to bring gas.
— An officer found Starbucks to be secure after responding to an alarm at the location on Jan. 1.
Liverpool Township
— Joshua Rife, age and address not provided, was issued a citation and mandatory court date for driving under suspension following a Dec. 27 traffic stop on state Route 7.
— Jacob Conley, age and address not provided, was issued a citation for speeding at 87 mph in a 55 mph zone and given a court date following a Dec. 28 traffic stop on state Route 7.
— An officer responded to a single car crash on Campground Road on Jan. 1 where the vehicle had struck a telephone pole. The driver had left the scene. First Class Towing was called to remove the vehicle. The driver was brought back to the scene by her family and told officers she lost control of the vehicle and slid into the pole and didn’t know what to do.
— Anthony Powell, age and address not provided, was issued a citation and court date for reckless operation following a Jan. 1 traffic stop state Route 7.
— John Shroades III, age and address not provided, was issued citations and a court date for a stop sign violation and expired plates and also given a verbal warning for failure to use a turn signal and no license plate following a Jan. 1 traffic stop on Parkway.
— Madison Jennings, age and address not provided, was issued citations and a mandatory court date for marked lanes violation and operating a vehicle without plates following a Jan. 1 traffic stop on Duncan Avenue. First Class Towing impounded the vehicle.
— Dakota Henson, age and address not provided, was issued citations and a mandatory court date for driving with no license and loud/defective exhaust following a Jan. 3 traffic stop on Kountz Avenue. First Class Towing impounded the vehicle.
Sheriff’s Office
— A man on Unity Line Road, Unity Township, reported at 4:26 p.m. Wednesday that per his bank, he put a check in the mailbox at the New Waterford Post Office, West Main Street, New Waterford, for $3,708 made out to Capital One and someone cashed the check at an unknown different bank.
— A woman on Unity Line Road, Unity Township, reported at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday that on Jan. 3, someone entered her unlocked shed and stole a chainsaw and multiple tools.
— A representative of Mahoning County Habitat for Humanity, Youngstown, requested a welfare check at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday on a man on Apples Way Drive, Fairfield Township. A staff member had gone to the residence and the man was not answering the door. A deputy spoke with the man, who was fine and said he would make contact with the staff member from Habitat for Humanity.
— A Metz Road, Fairfield Township resident reported at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday that her garage door keeps opening and closing on its own and she wanted the property checked. A deputy checked the property and had no contact with anyone. The garage motor was unplugged by the resident.
