Sheriff’s Office
— A deputy at 3:13 p.m. Thursday attempted to call a person regarding a reported sex offense, but both times the deputy called, the number was advised as disconnected. The address on the report was Winona Road, Butler Township.
— Deputies responded at 10:44 p.m. Wednesday for a shooting complaint on Bayard Road, West Township, with no details as to what happened on the report. Deputies spoke to both parties involved and advised them how to proceed. Deputies were then called back to the same address for an alleged assault. David Scott Lyon, 64, Bayard Road, Minerva, was charged with assault and transported to the county jail. He appeared for video arraignment in Columbiana County Municipal Court on Friday, with a pretrial set for Jan. 7.
— A deputy hit a deer while leaving the sheriff’s office on County Home Road, Lisbon at 2:33 a.m. Wednesday.
— A man on Hartley Road, Knox Township reported at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday that his ex-wife, who resides in Washingtonville, has not let him see or have contact with his two sons since Dec. 1 and isn’t following the court order. He was advised to contact an attorney.
— A deputy was dispatched at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday to Pinewood Drive, New Waterford for a medical call. Upon arrival, EMS advised the situation was under control.
— Deputies responded at 7:30 p.m. Monday to Sherwood Road, Yellow Creek Township regarding a burglary and while en route were told a person had an arrest warrent. The report said deputies made contact with the person and placed him under arrest, transporting him to jail. The report did not include the name or any information regarding the person arrested, but a sheriff’s office representative said the person was Mark Foden, 55, last known address Wellsville, who was taken into custody on a warrant for failure to appear for nonsupport.
— A stolen vehicle was reported at 12:24 p.m. Monday on McCracken Road, Salem Township.
— Debris was reported in the road in the area of Cameron Road near state Route 45, Madison Township at 3:19 p.m. Dec. 28. A deputy checked the area and found the debris posed no hazard.
— Noise was reported at 1:17 a.m. Dec. 27 on Grant Street, Center Township, with deputies asking the person to keep the noise down and they agreed to do so.
— Deputies at 12:19 a.m. Dec. 27 checked the area of Cream Ridge Road, Elkrun Township regarding a shooting complaint, checking the immediate and surrounding areas, but finding nothing.
— A deputy at 10:51 p.m. Dec. 25 returned a call regarding a noise complaint on Wells Hollow Road, Yellow Creek Township, telling the caller how to proceed.
— A welfare check was requested on Crestview Road, Fairfield Township at 7:48 p.m. Dec. 25. A deputy made contact with the person in question and found him to have some memory loss. EMS checked the person and cleared him. A relative was reached and was on the way.
— Menacing was reported at 5:26 p.m Dec. 25 on Water Street, Salineville.
