Municipal
LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a pretrial was set Dec. 29 for Shawna M. Lewis, 40, West Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence for allegedly throwing a plate at a man that cut his leg, along with throwing multiple other items, on Dec. 19 in East Palestine.
A pretrial was set Dec. 29 for Kirk R. Bloss, 67, Alliance, charged with violation of a protection order for allegedly sending a letter in the mail to a protected person on Oct. 24 in Butler Township.
Aaron J. Thomas, 48, East End Drive, Salineville, was fined $50 for expired registration and received no fine for driving under suspension.
Grand Jury
LISBON — Mark E. Foden, 55, Main Street, Wellsville, was served Thursday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for possession of cocaine and aggravated possession of drugs, both fifth-degree felonies, with specifications for forfeiture of money from a drug case, for allegedly possessing cocaine, methamphetamine and $91 on Nov. 12, 2024.
Court News
LISBON — An East Liverpool man accused of stealing a pinball machine and possessing drugs was sentenced to nine months in prison.
Jason M. Call, 32, Avondale Street, recently appeared for sentencing in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court for breaking and entering, theft, receiving stolen property and aggravated possession of drugs, all fifth-degree felonies. He received credit for 85 days served in jail.
Call was accused of breaking into an unoccupied property on July 23, 2024, stealing a pinball machine and disposing of miscellaneous collectibles on July 30, 2024. He also possessed methamphetamine on Nov. 14, 2023.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— April L. Carter, 45, Warren, was placed on an intervention plan for 12 months after pleading guilty to illegal processing of drug documents, a fourth-degree felony, for possessing a false or forged document for a drug from Oct. 29, 2022 to Oct. 31, 2022.
— Kristen M. Layne, 33, Crestline, was placed under community control for two years after pleading guilty to possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing cocaine on Oct. 12, 2024. She received credit for 24 days served in jail.
