East Liverpool

–After receiving a complaint on Oct. 29 that Joseph Mason was leaning on a pole appearing to be under the influence of something outside Nikki’s Market, Dresden Avenue, officers went to check on him. As officers were leaving the station, dispatch told them there was an active warrant for Mason out of the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. When officers made contact with Mason who appeared physically fine, Mason, according to the police report, said “you ready” and that he knew he had a warrant and had been waiting on officers all day to come pick him up. Mason was placed in custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

–Officers were told by a female at a Crawford Avenue residence on Oct. 29 that she called them while she and her boyfriend were in a verbal altercation, and that while she was on the phone with them, he left the area. The female said that nothing physical had happened and officers were unable to see any signs of a physical altercation.

–A male came to the police station on Oct. 29 to file a report against G.G. who he said posted an old Facebook photo of his car and a rifle he used to own and said the male had been following him/her around town with the gun. The male told officers he got the rifle for his birthday and has since sold it and could text who it was sold to to prove he no longer owned it. The male said he just wanted the incident documented since G.G. keeps slandering him on social media.

— A female told officers responding on Oct. 30 to a report of a physical assault on Ashbaugh Lane between herself and another female over a borrowed car being returned later than the agreed upon time that she did not want charges pressed.

— Officers responding to E. 5th Street for a report of two people arguing were told by one of the parties there was not arguing. Officers told them that extra checks would be done.

— After receiving a call from a third party that two people were arguing in a Wilber Avenue apartment on Oct. 30, after going to the residence where they heard what sounded like yelling when they approached the door. Officers knocked multiple times, but no one answered. Officers spoke to the caller who said he saw a male push the female resident multiple times and was threatening to punch her in the face. Officers attempted to review footage with nothing found.

— Officers, after responding to an alarm on Oct. 30, at the Hot Dog Shoppe found no signs of foul play or damage and were unable to see signs of anyone inside the building. Doors and windows were secure.

— An officer on patrol on state Route 11 on Oct. 30 noticed two construction barrels in the roadway and moved them.

— Ashley Parker, 20, was taken into custody and charged with underage drinking after officers responding on Oct. 30 to Heights Manor for a report of an intoxicated female. Due to refusing to identify herself or answer any of the officers’ questions she was also charged with obstructing official business and transported to the police department where she identified herself, given a summons for her court charges and released to an adult. After being released, Parker was involved in another incident and arrested for underage consumption and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

St. Clair Township

— Officers told the owners of multiple cars parked on the side of Annesley Road, blocking the flow of traffic on Oct. 30, that they needed to move the vehicles or they would be towed.

— An officer gave a courtesy ride to a male walking on state Route 11 after the male got into an argument with his wife and got out of the vehicle and started walking on Oct. 30.

— Officers checked the area of Bell School Road on Oct. 30 after a reckless driver was reported in the area.

Highway Patrol

— Steven Boggs, of Austintown, was cited for failure to control at 11:07 p.m. Oct. 31 in Salem Township, after losing control of his vehicle while southeast bound on state Route 344, going off the right side of the road, striking three mailboxes, a culvert and a tree before overturning his vehicle which caught fire.

— Cody Oldaker, of Malvern, was cited for failure to control at 5:30 a.m. Nov. 7 in Fairfield Township. He was northbound on state Route 164 when he traveled off the right side of the road, hit two signs and a ditch.

— Dominic Hanks, of Alliance, was cited at 7:27 p.m. Nov. 12 for a right of way violation, after he pulled into the path of Elizabeth Maendel, also of Alliance, on Route 62 from a stop sign before it was safe for him to do so and was struck.

— No charges were noted for Darryl Miller, of New Garden Road in Salem, at 10:08 a.m, Nov. 4 in Butler Township. Miller was eastbound on Georgetown Road when he went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

— Albert Anderson, of Kelly Park Road in Columbiana, was not cited after his vehicle, while westbound on state Route 154, caught fire at 5:41 p.m. Nov. 5 in Middleton Township.

— Terry Shasheen, of Leslie Road in Lisbon, was cited at 3:20 p.m. Nov. 15 in Elkrun Township for failure to control, after his eastbound vehicle failed to negotiate a curve on state Route 154, traveled off the road and struck a mailbox, a pole, a tree and a ditch before overturning.

Sheriff Reports

— Deputies and Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers responded at 5:43 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a possible domestic violence situation with people reportedly barricaded on U.S. Route 30, Hanover Township. It was found that the reported victim was not injured or threatened and denied any further incident. The reported victim was interviewed on the scene and signed a refusal to cooperate. The residence was checked for any other persons and no one was located.

— A noise disturbance was reported at 3:55 p.m. Monday at a Steubenville Pike Road, Center Township property. Deputies asked the people involved to turn the music down, which they did willingly.

— A deputy at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 9 returned a call regarding fraud, with the address listed on state Route 164, Center Township. The deputy spoke with the complainant and advised them how to proceed.
