LISBON — A woman who tried to take drugs into a detention facility was sentenced to 12 months in prison for violating the terms of her probation for the 2023 case.
Amber Maraldo, 42, Louisville, appeared recently for a probation violation hearing in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court for the lesser offense of attempted illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a governmental facility, a fourth-degree felony.
The incident occurred Jan. 28, 2023 when she attempted to take drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility.
She received credit for 62 days already served in jail and her community control was dishonorably terminated.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— Amanda L. Fulmer, 37, Newell, W.Va., was placed on an intervention plan for two years after pleading guilty to fifth-degree felonies of possession of a fentanyl-related compound and possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drugs. She possessed fentanyl, cocaine and xylazine on Dec. 29, 2023.
— Miah K. Coviello, 31, Mingo Junction, pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated possession of drugs, with one a third-degree felony and the other two fifth-degree felonies, with sentencing set for Dec. 11. Coviello possessed bromazolam, MDMA and methamphetamine on Sept. 21, 2024.
— Ross A. Chaplow, 43, Metz Road, Columbiana, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, with sentencing set for Dec. 17. Chaplow possessed methamphetamine on July 27, 2024.
— Justin Sprout, 45, Harvey Avenue, East Liverpool, was sentenced to 120 days in the county jail, with credit for 66 days served, leaving a balance of 54 days still to serve in jail for violating the terms of his probation for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. His community control was dishonorably terminated. He possessed methamphetamine on April 23, 2022.
— Darius X. Ruffner, 20, Youngstown, was placed on an intervention plan for two years after pleading guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing methamphetamine on June 28, 2024.

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a fourth-degree felony charge of receiving stolen property against Melissa D. Payne, 54, South West Street, Columbiana, was dismissed at the request of the state, with costs taxed to the state. She had been accused of possessing a vehicle that had been reported as stolen on Sept. 22 in Columbiana.
A pretrial was set Oct. 27 for Knowledgeborn Furman Jamel Price, 49, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with domestic violence for allegedly pushing a kitchen table toward a woman to strike her with it, then grabbing her by the arms trying to throw her to the ground and hitting her phone out of her hand on Oct. 14 in East Liverpool. He was also fined $50 for expired license.
David M. Donaldson, 47, Park Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and given a suspended 60-day jail term for failure to comply for fleeing from a traffic stop on April 3 in East Liverpool.
Jason Varley, 45, Richardson Avenue, Negley, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 178 days suspended and credit for two days served, for endangering children. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to comply with orders of Trumbull County Family Court. Varley was accused of failing to care for a child on April 29 in Middleton Township
Robert L. Cehrs, 43, Beaver Falls, Pa., was fined $250 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for menacing amended from aggravated menacing. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to have no contact with the victims. Cehrs was accused of threatening to shoot another man in the face on June 12 in front of Wellsville police officers investigating an alleged road rage incident.
Mathew J. Campbell, 42, Youngstown, was fined $450 and sentenced to 16 days in jail, with credit for two days served, leaving a balance of 14 days still to serve in jail for obstructing official business, criminal trespass and reckless operation. On July 21 in Salem, he was accused of threatening a bartender and the Foundry business in Salem, sending text messages that he was on his way to the business to cause problems. He was trespassed from the property, then police saw him turning into the parking lot and told him he was trespassed. He allegedly drove out of the parking lot and then came back into the parking lot. He also refused to give officers his identification.
A sentencing hearing was set Nov. 13 for Julie Marie McClain, 42, Old Fredericktown Road, East Liverpool, who pleaded no contest and was found guilty of criminal damaging, resisting arrest and two counts of criminal trespass for trespassing in an East Liverpool apartment on Sept. 18 and being found sleeping inside. On Oct. 10, she trespassed again in the apartment, pushing her way through the door causing damage and causing a disturbance, refusing to follow police officer commands.
Rebecca E. Steed, 53, West Main Street, Washingtonville, was fined $250 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for theft. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and to stay out of the Salem Walmart. Steed attempted to steal $256 worth of merchandise from the Salem Walmart on June 27, 2024.
Heather M. Bywaters, 44, Chester, W.Va., was fined $50 for disorderly conduct amended from theft. She was accused of failing to scan and pay for 12 items totaling $57 at the Calcutta Walmart on May 28.
A pretrial was set Jan. 13 for Robert James Davis, 40, Purinton Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with menacing for allegedly yelling racial slurs and trying to entice others to fight at Carriage Hill Apartments in St. Clair Township on Oct. 2, with the victims saying he was harassing them and getting in their face.
A pretrial was set Jan. 12 for Hunter Thomas Zeiber, 26, Michigan Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, reckless operation and earphones or earplugs for allegedly fleeing from police on a motorcycle on Calcutta Smith Ferry Road, St. Clair Township, traveling at a high rate of speed and passing at least seven cars, stopping before entering Pennsylvania on Oct. 9.
A sentencing hearing was set Nov. 6 for Zachary Edward Perry, 30, Cadmus Street, East Liverpool, who pleaded no contest and was found guilty of criminal trespass for entering an apartment in East Liverpool uninvited on Oct. 13.
A pretrial was set Jan. 12 for Jonathan Michael Fracchione, 40, Carey Road, Salem, charged with kindle fire during restricted hours for an open burning complaint by the Winona Fire Department for allegedly burning trash such as plastic bottles, metal cans and other fibrous materials in a pile left burning and unattended in a field with dead brush and undergrowth that was not cleared away on June 17.
A pretrial was set Jan. 14 for Jennifer L. Starcher, 38, Andrew Avenue, Salem, charged with permitting dog to run at large for an alleged incident on Oct. 9 in Salem for failing to confine her dog.
A charge of passing bad checks against Sarah L. Maze, 46, last known address West Fourth Street, East Liverpool, was dismissed due to the age of the case, which was filed in 2000,
Susan M. Joy, 20, East Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was fined $1,315 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program and $500 of the fine suspended, for operating a vehicle impaired (two OVI counts merged), marked lanes, open container and underage consumption. Her driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and she was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
Matthew B. Farson, 52, West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was fined $1,145 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program and $500 of the fine suspended, for OVI, no seat belt and failure to control. Another OVI charge was dismissed. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted.
Brenden Mitchell Mullen, 25, Elkhart, Ind., was fined $375 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served for a driver intervention program and $500 of the fine suspended, for OVI. A charge of vehicles to be issued distinctive number/certificate/registration was dismissed. Mullen’s driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
A pretrial was set Jan. 14 for Michael J. Villegas, 29, South Lincoln Avenue, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath, marked lanes and open container.
A pretrial was set Jan. 7 for Henry A. Fink Jr., 64, East Euclid Avenue, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath first offense and traffic control devices.
A pretrial was set Jan. 13 for Angel Gonzalez, 19, Park Drive, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, underage consumption and reckless operation.
A pretrial was set Nov. 20 for Bryan Avery Faust, 19, Lakeview Road, Hanoverton, charged with loud exhaust.
A pretrial was set Jan. 6 for David Alan Ritchie, 29, Mineral Ridge, charged with speeding.
Ashley S. Cash, 34, Campbell, was fined $100 for no license amended from driving under suspension.
Michelle J. Clark, 36, West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, received no fine for driving while texting, but was ordered to pay costs. A distracted driving course was completed.
Elizabeth Anne Anchondo, 26, East Main Street, East Palestine, was fined $50 for wrongful entrustment.
Amanda Sierra, 44, Girard, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.
Mitchel O. Lacey, 53, Bethesda Road, Hanoverton, was fined $125 for expired license and parking on road.
Heidi Danielle Roe, 50, Orchard Grove Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.
