LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial was set Sept. 23 for Jonathan David Messenger, 31, West Street, Salineville, charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, third-degree felony intimidation and misdemeanor aggravated menacing for allegedly hitting a woman in the back of the head with a metal baseball bat at least three times and in her hand when she raised it to protect herself on Sept. 18 in Salineville, then threatening to kill her if she called police and making jokes about killing her while transporting her to the hospital.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set Sept. 25 for David R. Bartchy, 36, Ellett Road, Beloit, charged with two counts of fifth-degree felony telecommunications harassment and two counts of misdemeanor telecommunications harassment for allegedly continuously texting a woman after being told not to contact her several times in Salineville. A police affidavit said she texted him to leave her alone on Sept. 15 and he then texted her 54 times. On Sept. 16, she again asked him to stop contacting her and he sent 37 messages. on Sept. 17, she again asked him not to contact her and he texted four times, then again on Sept. 18, he texted her again.
A pretrial was set Sept. 29 for Matthew E. Berger, 48, King Road, Salem, charged with two counts of violation of a protection order for allegedly sitting in his vehicle at the mailbox in front of the residence of two protected people, making eye contact with the victims before driving away on Aug. 28 in Butler Township.
A pretrial was set Oct. 6 for Richard R. Vecchio, 63, state Route 164, Lisbon, charged with two counts of criminal trespass for allegedly trespassing at apartments on East Lincoln Way, Lisbon and at the Lisbon Laundry Basket in Lisbon on Sept. 16 after previously being trespassed from the properties.
A pretrial was set Dec. 15 for Molly J. Matz, 43, Alliance, charged with criminal mischief for allegedly taking the camera down inside a horse barn in Knox Township on Aug. 23, alleging to a deputy that she was under the impression by the owner that she could take it down.
A pretrial was set Dec. 8 for Nathaniel R. Brendlinger, 19, West Eighth Street, Salem, charged with criminal damaging for allegedly spray painting West Eighth Street with purple paint on the street using profanity on Sept. 18.
A pretrial was set Dec. 15 for Page Herbert Gardner, 41, West Martin Street, East Palestine, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly lying to police about a friend’s identity during a traffic stop on the motorcycle the friend was operating in East Palestine on Sept. 16.
Ryan D. Armstrong, 40, Depot Road, Salem, was fined $150 and sentenced to five days in jail, with credit for one day served, leaving a balance of four days to serve in jail for criminal trespass for trespassing at Smith Oil in Salem and refusing to leave. He had previously been trespassed from the property in 2021.
Taylor Lee Ballard, 27, Third Street, Summitville, was fined $925 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for operating a vehicle impaired and failure to control. His driver’s license was suspended for one year with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
A pretrial was set Dec. 11 for Aleasha R. McKee, 37, Dunn Road, East Liverpool, charged with OVI first offense and OVI breath first offense.
A pretrial was set Dec. 16 for Jaydin Isaiah Delauder, 22, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath first offense and park on highway.
A pretrial was set Dec. 16 for Tonya Bebout, 49, Wells Avenue, Wellsville, charged with driving under suspension.
A pretrial was set Nov. 13 for Alayna N. Risbeck, 23, Bell School Road, East Liverpool, charged with driving upon street posted as closed for repair.
Kevin G. Deeter, 38, East 10th Street, Salem, was ordered to pay costs only for driving while texting after completing the Distracted Driving Safety Course.
Thomas Charles Joy Jr., 31, Avondale Street, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for no license and expired registration.
Tabitha N. Morrow, 22, Shadylane, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for a temporary permit violation.
John S. Joy, 43, Riverside Avenue, Wellsville, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.
Monique C. Fish, 33, Goshen Road, Salem, was fined $30 for a turn signal violation.
