Sheriff’s Office

— A woman on Grant Street, Center Township called 911 at 7:57 p.m. Aug. 7 to request an ambulance take her to the hospital due to a mental health crisis. When deputies arrived, Northstar EMS transported her to East Liverpool City Hospital in East Liverpool.

— A woman on Rose Drive, Center Township, reported at 7:57 p.m. Aug. 7 that her 13-year-old nephew who lives with her had been gone from the residence for two hours. Upon arrival, deputies spoke to the juvenile, who was sitting outside the front door of the residence. The juvenile then went back inside and went to bed.

— A woman on Westville Lake Road, Knox Township reported at 5:03 p.m. Aug. 7 that her neighbor’s juvenile son keeps trespassing on her property.

— A man from Steubenville Pike Road, Center Township, reported at 4:34 p.m. Aug. 7 that his neighbor called him at work and told him someone was trespassing on his property and possibly inside the residence due to a silver Dodge 1500 being there. A deputy checked and had no contact with any vehicles or people, finding the residence secure from ground level.

— A deputy was dispatched at 10:42 p.m. Aug. 6 to the Columbiana County jail, County Home Road, Lisbon, Center Township, for an assault report involving two inmates.

— The Stark County Sheriff’s Office called at 8:06 p.m. Aug. 6 to request deputies go to Big Arb’s Campground, Buffalo Road, West Township, to take a man into custody on an active warrant out of Stark County. Robert E. Lacaze, Union Avenue, NE., Paris Township, Stark County, was taken into custody and transported to state Route 172 at the county line and turned over to a Stark County deputy.

— A Youngstown man called at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 6 to report he was at a Boston Street, Salem Township residence and his soon-to-be ex-wife kept driving by in her vehicle attempting to make contact with him. He said there’s a no contact order out of Youngstown Municipal Court on her to have no contact with him.

St. Clair Township

— Officers searched the area of Y&O Road for a silver SUV with one headlight that the highway patrol was looking for on July 29. The officers cleared the area without finding the vehicle.

— An officer spoke to residents on Artistic Drive on July 29 after a car backed into cable lines. The female who reported the incident told officers she spoke with the company and they told her that it wasn’t their problem and to not call them again. The officers found the wires that once went to another residence and the owner told officers that he no longer had wi-fi or cable.

— Officers spoke to a couple in the parking lot of Dollar General and a cashier in the store on state Route 267 on July 29 regarding a reported altercation between a male and a female in the parking lot. Both the cashier and the couple told officers they had not seen or heard anything.

— Officers arrived at a Winston Drive residence on July 29 for an unresponsive male. North Star EMS was already there and officers assisted them.

— A driver was given a verbal warning following a July 29 traffic stop on McGuffy Drive for no county sticker on the license plate.

— Officers were advised by dispatch per request by highway patrol to get into position on state Route 11 as they had a vehicle driving recklessly on the southbound side. The officers sat at the overpass on state Route 170 and set up stop sticks on state Route 11 south. As the vehicle passed it was not being driven recklessly and highway patrol was not behind it.

— A driver was given a warning following a July 29 traffic stop on Park Way for the county and registration sticker on his plate being covered by a plate cover.

— An officer responding to Amarillo Avenue on July 29 for cows on the loose was able to get the cows back into their pen.

— A driver was given a verbal warning for speed following a July 30 traffic stop on state Route 170.

— Matthew Ward (age and address not provided) was issued a citation for speed following a July 30 traffic stop.

— An officer on patrol on July 31 noticed the baseball field gate opened. He and another officer searched the area and closed the gate.

— An officer responding to an alarm on July 31 at Giant Eagle found the building to be secure.

— Officers assisted deputies from the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office in attempting to serve an indictment warrant at an East Liverpool Road address on July 31.

— An officer on patrol on Aug. 1 observed a vehicle parked in the Smith Gas Station on East Liverpool Road where there is usually not a vehicle parked. The officer did a check of the vehicle which was unoccupied and did not appear to be disabled.

— An officer traveling toward Sheetz on state Route 170 on Aug. 1 observed juveniles chasing each other down the hill beside the parking lot where vehicles were parked. The officer approached three vehicles parked next to each other which appeared to have juveniles in each of them and told them Sheetz was a business not a playground and they needed to leave if they were going to continue running around the parking lot. The vehicle occupants agreed to leave.

— A female who officers were requested to do a welfare check on at Highland Drive residence on Aug. 2 spoke with the officers and told them she was fine.

— Officers asked a driver who was parked in the rear parking lot of Hoges Restaurant for some time with his lights on on Aug. 2 to move on which he did.

— An officer checked the area of Cricket Lane on Aug. 2 for a report of shots fired. She also checked surrounding areas and found everything appeared to be in order.

— Officers responding to Giant Eagle on Aug. 2 for an alarm checked the building and found it to be secure and then were advised by dispatch to disregard because the proper code was given.

— Officers arrived at a Poplar Street residence on Aug. 7 regarding a squatter. When they arrived they found the caller of the property removed the power cord that was stretched from the neighboring house. Officers did not find a squatter at the residence. The property owner is deceased and subjects are allegedly in the house. Officers explained that until an owner of the property complains they have no way of knowing if whoever is in house has the right to be there. The officers said as for the electric theft the caller was told to leave the evidence there so they can file a charge for theft of service. While the officers were there they spoke to the caller’s niece who is in the process of being evicted and may have allowed the subjects next door to use the electric.

— An officer was sent to the area of state Route 267 and Irish Ridge Road for two horses in the middle of the road on Aug. 7. She followed the horses from behind as officers from Liverpool Township attempted to make contact with the owner. After some time officers found the owner whose residence was located off state Route 267 and the horses were safely returned home.

— An officer responded to a Cannon Mills Road residence for a dog bite to the face. LifeTeam Ambulance was already on the scene when the officer arrived and stood by as medics assessed the victim who was transported to the hospital by ambulance for her injuries.

— Officers arrived at a Carroll Road residence on Aug. 10 for a suicidal male with a firearm. NorthStar evaluated the male who refused to go to the hospital for treatment. The male, who initially told officers he did not have a firearm, later agreed to allow his neighbor to remove a shotgun from the residence and keep it at his residence for a while.
