— An officer on his way to work on July 31 came across a single-vehicle crash on Lisbon Street. Another officer and the police chief arrived on the scene where the vehicle had wrecked into a telephone pole and split it at the base. The unnamed male told the officers that he lost control of his vehicle and spun 180 degrees. A witness who came out of his house after hearing the crash witnessed the driver not driving in a dangerous or careless manner. It appeared the driver lost control due to mechanical failure. The male was transported from the scene by North Star EMS and at the request of the driver the vehicle was towed by Calcutta Towing. AEP was notified about the damaged pole.
— An officer conducting random plate checks on state Route 7 on July 31 conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a driver without a license. The driver showed the officer a permit and the officer told him he needed a valid driver with him while driving on a permit. The unnamed driver was cited for driving alone on a permit and allowed to call someone to come get him and his car.
— An officer on patrol ran the plate of the car in front of him on state Route on July 31 and found the plate to be expired. The driver, Emily Smith, was cited for a registration violation.
— An officer on patrol on Lisbon Street on Aug. 1 saw a vehicle with only one head light and conducted a traffic stop. After running the plates, it came back that the unnamed driver had no license. The driver was cited for not having two working headlights and having no license. He was issued a court date and called his brother to pick up him and the car. Officers verified the brother had a valid license.
— An officer conducted a traffic stop on state Route 7 on Aug. 1 for a vehicle which the license plate came back registered to a person with no license. The unnamed driver who was not the owner of the vehicle also did not have a license. The driver was cited for no license and First Class Towing impounded the vehicle.
— After officers received a call telling them that a male at a Westfield Road residence had a county warrant on Aug. 1, they went to the address to attempt to contact the male. The male was standing in the driveway waving the officers up and helping guide them where to park when they arrived. Officers confirmed the name of the male and that he did have a warrant and was taken into custody.
— An officer checking Sixth Avenue near the end on Aug. 1 observed a male known to the officer to have warrants coming from the back yard of a residence on Seventh Street. The officers advised the unnamed male of his warrants and took him into custody.
— An officer ran the plate of a vehicle on state Route 7 on Aug. 2 and conducted a traffic stop when the plate information returned showing the owner did not have a valid license. The male was told to call and see if he could get a licensed driver to come drive his vehicle. The male’s wife arrived and officers verified her as a licensed driver. The driver was told the officer was unable to issue him a citation at the scene but would be by his residence to issue him one for no operator’s license.
