East Liverpool
–A female came into the police department on July 28 wanting to make a theft report. She suspected her son of possibility taken a credit card from her vehicle. Officers then spoke to the female about issues she was having with her son and advised her to obtain a protection order or a no-contact order through the courts.
–A male came to the police station on July 28 to file a report of two males in a red Pontiac driving past him while he was at the dispensary on Dresden Avenue and throwing quarters at him. The male said they drove back by him again and threw something else at him. He said he was then given a ride and followed the vehicle into town where he lost site of it. Officers checked the area for the car and noted the reason for the incident was unknown.
–Officers were dispatched to a First Avenue residence on July 28 for a possible domestic situation. When officers arrived they found a female to be very frustrated. While one officer spoke to the female another spoke to Homer Williams Jr. The female noted that she was afraid of Williams at that time and he had already been to prison for domestic violence. Witnesses to the incident told officers that Williams had threatened to knock the female’s and her granddaughter’s eyes out of their heads. Williams told officers he was not afraid of prison and last time he loved it there. Williams who was previously charged with felony domestic violence in 2019 and involuntary manslaughter in 1999 was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence
–An officer went to a Market Street residence at the request of the Jefferson County Medical Office to notify a resident on July 28 to contact the Jefferson County Medical Office.
–An officer checked the area of Park Way for a female reported on July 28 to be stumbling in the area.
–An officer who responded to a person to be removed call on July 28 at a Harvey Avenue residence advised the caller that he would need to start the eviction process to have the female removed from the property.
–Officers were told by a female that her brother threw a beer bottle at her dog that tried to attack him. She wants him charged for spilling beer on her when they responded to the situation at an Ohio Avenue residence on July 28. Officers spoke to the female’s brother and parents who told them the female was using narcotics again and digging through the neighbors’ trash causing a chemical smell throughout the residence. The officers requested the fire department check the residence due to a very strong chemical smell. The fire department noted that the smell was from a can of bug spray the female got from the garbage and sprayed under the window air conditioning unit. Officers suggested the siblings avoid each other for the night. The brother left to go stay with friends.
St. Clair Township
–An officer responded to a panic alarm on July 26 at the Hidden Haven Salon where he spoke to a female who said she accidently hit the wrong button.
–A driver was issued a verbal warning on July 26 for not having a driver’s license. He told the officer he did not know his license was not valid. The officer allowed the passenger to drive the vehicle after verifying she had a valid license.
–A warrant was issued for Anthony Greathouse (age and address not provided) for felony theft for a value of $1,000 or more on July 27 after officers viewed him on surveillance video walk out of Busy Beaver with a cart full of tools and miscellaneous items valued at $1,176.86 without paying for the items.
–Officers removed a branch from the roadway after responding to Calcutta Smith Ferry Road on July 27 for a report of a possible tree down.
–A driver was issued a warning for having a tinted plate covering obstructing the view of the plate following a July 28 traffic stop on state Route 170.
–Officers responded to the 16000 block of Martha Street on July 28 after receiving an anonymous call for a welfare check with a possible domestic situation going on. Officers spoke with the resident who said the subject of the welfare check had taken their daughter to cheer practice. Officers noted everything inside the residence appeared to be in order.
–Officers checked around a Kelly Avenue residence on July 28 after a resident said someone was looking in her window. Officers told the residence they did not find anyone but would do extra checks in the area and to call back if there were any more issues.
–Officers dispatched to Midland Fredericktown Road on July 28 for a tractor trailer blocking traffic after going under the trestle and stopping at the bridge that crosses Beaver Creek. Officers noted the driver ignored several signs posting weight and height limits before going the hill and a sign that said no turnaround after a point. The driver blocked traffic for approximately 45 minutes while he emptied his clean water load so he could turn around without causing damage to the roadway or vehicle.
–An officer on patrol on Florence Street on July 28 observed a pick-up truck in a driveway with both passenger side doors open. The officer knocked on the door and spoke with the resident who checked the truck and said all look good and secured the truck.
–An Irish Ridge Road resident told officers on July 28 that he had seen a four-wheeler sitting in the creek of his property when he left his house that morning and he thought the four-wheeler might have been stolen from somewhere on Dresden Avenue because he had seen it earlier on a trailer near there.
Liverpool Township
–An unnamed driver was issued a citation for speed for traveling 75 mph in a 55-mph zone and a court date following a July 28 traffic stop on state Route 7.
–An unnamed female was taken into custody following a July 28 traffic stop on state Route 7. A random plate check showed the driver having a suspended license. When officer conducted the traffic stop, the female driver showed driving privileges but told officers she was coming from AFK gaming in East Liverpool, which the officers told her was not in her driving privileges. A second unit arrived at the stop and recognized the female as from a traffic stop a week require in which they found narcotics in her car. Officers obtained the driver’s permission to search the vehicle and while they were searching, dispatch notified them that the passenger in the vehicle had a warrant for theft and placed her in custody. Officers did not find anything in the search. They wrote the driver a ticket for driving under suspension and let her mother come get the vehicle. The passenger was transported to the county jail.
–An officer conducting random plate checks on Lisbon Street on July 29 discovered a silver Durango with plates registered to a 2013 white car and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop the unnamed male driver’s license showed as suspended. The driver was issued a citation for illegal plates and driving under suspension. The vehicle was impounded.
–While during random plate checks on July 30 on state Route 7 an officer discovered a plate which had expired on April 5 and conducted a traffic stop. The unnamed female driver who said she must have forgotten about the plates was issued a citation for expired plates.
–An officer following behind a white Chevy Truck on July 30 on state Route 7 noticed the truck had no visible plate and conducted a traffic stop. The male driver who was discovered to not have a driver’s license was issued a citation for no license. The officer let the driver’s stepfather pick up the truck.
–An officer following behind a vehicle on July 30 on state Route 7 observed the driver failing to use a turn signal and the car having a loud exhaust. The officer conducted a traffic stop and issued the unnamed female driver citations for failing to signal and the loud exhaust.
