Sheriff’s Office

— Deputies responded to an address on state Route 9, Hanover Township at 12:57 a.m. Tuesday for a person having a mental health crisis. Deputies spoke to the person and family members and it was decided they should go to the hospital for an evaluation. The family advised they would transport the person to the hospital.

Wellsville

— Officers responded to a fire at 1701 Main St. on Aug. 1 where patrolmen found the structure in flames and made sure all occupants were out of the six-room apartment style structure owned by Joseph Pappas. When the officers were speaking to the residents one resident said he entered the apartment of another resident and found the bed to be on fire. All residents were accounted for except the resident whose bed was on fire.

— Dakota McGrew, age and address not provided, was issued citations and an Aug. 28 court date in Wellsville Magistrate Court for speeding (clocked at 96 mph in a 55-mph zone), reckless operation and physical control. The officer noted during the Aug. 2 traffic stop on state Route 11 he noted a strong level of alcohol coming from McGrew. Officers administered field sobriety tests which McGrew failed.

— Officers called for EMS to assist an elderly lady slumped over in her car with a young child in the back seat at the Dollar General on Aug. 2. Officers used a window punch to break the front passenger window after not being able to get a response from the female. After removing the juvenile from the car, officers began lifesaving measures until EMS arrived. Officers noted the female began to breathe again before being transported to the hospital. EMS determined the cause of the incident was high sugar levels. The juvenile’s uncle came to pick him up and take the car.

Liverpool Township

— The driver of a truck which caught fire on July 24 on John Campbell Road told officers he did some mechanical repairs on the truck and was taking it back to the owner’s house to drop off when he entered some sharp curves, heard a loud pop noise and saw a small flame under the hood and the next thing he knew the whole engine was engulfed. When officers arrived, the whole truck was in flames. Liverpool Township VFD arrived and put the fire out and then First Class Towing took the vehicle.

— An unnamed driver was cited for expired plates and given a verbal warning for a cover obstructing the plate following a July 25 traffic stop on Kountz Avenue.

— An unnamed driver was issued a citation for speed following a July 25 traffic stop on state Route 7.

— An unnamed driver was issued citations and a mandatory court date for speed and having no license following a July 27 traffic stop on state Route 7.
