Liverpool Township
— An unnamed driver was issued a citation for speed of 80 mph in a 55-mph zone following a July 1 traffic stop on state Route 7.
— An unnamed driver was issued a citation for running a stop sign following a July 1 traffic stop on Anderson Avenue.
— An unnamed male was cited for no driver’s license and had his vehicle impounded following a July 1 traffic stop on Parkway Avenue. The traffic stop was initiated because the officer did a random plate check which showed the vehicle registered to a male with no license.
— An unnamed driver was issued a citation for expired plates and given a verbal warning for speed following a July 2 traffic stop on state Route 7.
— An unnamed driver was issued a citation and court date for speed of 72 mph in a 55-mph zone following a July 2 traffic stop on state Route 7.
— An unnamed driver was issued a citation and court date for speed of 71 mph in a 55-mph zone following a traffic stop on state Route 7.
— An unnamed male was found to have a felony warrant for felonious assault and taken into custody following a July 3 traffic stop on state Route 7. The male had two juvenile passengers with him, one of which called his father who requested the driver be arrested once he arrived on the scene.
— An unnamed driver was issued two citations — one for no license and the other for no turn signal — following a July 3 traffic stop on Seventh Avenue. The officer noted that approximately three weeks prior he had transported the driver to Columbiana County Jail for an outstanding warrant and he was given a citation for no license then.
— Dylan Walsh, no age or address listed, was issued a citation for no license and his unregistered motorcycle was impounded following a July 3 traffic stop.
— An unnamed male who admitted on July 3 to officers that he fled the scene of an accident on June 18 was issued citations and a court date for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to control and driving under suspension. The male was originally stopped on July 3 for a traffic violation when he told officer he wanted to the accident.
— An unnamed driver was issued a citation and court date for speed of 71 mph in a 55-mph zone following a July 4 traffic stop on state Route 7.
— An unnamed male was issued a citation and court date for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 7. Officers allowed his wife to drive the vehicle home.
Sheriff Reports
— A deputy was dispatched at 3:51 p.m. Sunday to state Route 170 regarding a domestic violence incident that occurred the night before. Contact was made with the victim, who advised she wanted a report made, but did not want to file charges against the other woman. She advised a relative punched her in the face and scratched her arms during an argument. The report said alcohol appeared to be a factor. The victim advised she would seek a protection order.
— A theft report was taken at a residence on Hazel Run Road, Washington Township, reported at 6:33 p.m. Saturday.
— An Alliance woman reported at 5:46 p.m. Saturday that she went to pick up her child at the father’s residence on Cherry Valley Road, Salem Township, and he allegedly made a threat against her. She was advised how to obtain a protection order.
— An alarm was reported at 1:12 a.m. Saturday at the Yellow Creek Township garage. All of the buildings were found secure by deputies who arrived and checked them.
— A man on North Shore Drive, Knox Township, reported at 9:27 p.m. Friday that there is an ongoing issue with motorcycles speeding in front of his residence. A deputy sat stationary in the area, but had no contact with anyone.
— A woman on Lisa Lane, Center Township, reported at 9 p.m. Friday that an Alliance woman was harassing her through social media and sending her text messages to her cell phone. She advised she already blocked from contacting her.
— Deputies were dispatched at 7:59 p.m. June 29 to Roger’s Food and Fuel on Depot Street, Rogers for a private property accident, learning a man had taken his girlfriend’s vehicle and used it to strike another vehicle before fleeing with her 2-year-old son in the vehicle. Ohio State Highway Patrol and St. Clair Township Police were requested to assist in the search for the vehicle and safe return of the child. Later it was advised the man led the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a pursuit and the child was dropped off at the grandmother’s house. The man continued to flee on foot and successfully evaded law enforcement on scene and a drone was later called to the scene and was unsuccessful in locating the man, with charges filed. James Laughlin, 34, state Route 518, Lisbon, appeared in Columbiana County Municipal Court last week and is set to face a preliminary hearing on Thursday for first-degree felony kidnapping, fourth-degree felony domestic violence and four counts of third-degree felony vehicular assault.
