Hancock Sheriff

— Charles Willard, of Houston, Pa. was arrested May 1 on charges of petit larceny, domestic battery and attempted kidnapping.

— Erica Conkle, of Weirton, was arrested May 1 on a charge of domestic battery.

— Ryan Cooper, of Chester, was arrested May 6 on charges of domestic (first offense), strangulation and kidnapping.

— Brianne Hardy, of Weirton, was served May 7 with a capias warrant.

— Kristie Bottegal, of Steubenville, was arrested May 7 on a charge of shoplifting.

— Amanda Ripley, of Newell, was arrested May 8 on a charge of joyriding.

— Jena Lindsey, of Weirton, was arrested May 9 on a charge of truancy.

— Randy Cox, of Industry, Pa., was arrested May 10 on a charge of felony destruction of property.

— Ashton Todd, of Newell, was arrested May 24 on a charge of possession with intent.

— Michelle Ryan, of Chester, was arrested May 23 for being a fugitive from justice.

— Jorge Monserrate, of Chester, was served May 23 with a capias warrant.

— Wilbert Faulk, of East Liverpool, was arrested May 29 on a charge of petit larceny.

— Charles A. Smith, of Weirton, was arrested May 30 on a charge of DUI (first offense).

East Liverpool

— After observing Johnny Exline, 51, address not provided, as a passenger in car and knowing him to have an outstanding warrant, an officer conducted a traffic on Pennsylvania Avenue on May 24 after confirming the warrant and took Exline into custody and transported him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers secured an employee door at Hall China on May 24 after responding to a call about someone being inside the building. The keyholder reported that via a remote camera he could see someone in the building. Officers arrived and searched the building but were unable to find anyone.

— Officers stood by at a Moore Street residence on May 24, to allow a male to gather belongings from the residence after an incident earlier in the day where officers responded to the same location when the male reported the resident had struck and spit on him.

— Officers were requested at Woodlawn Avenue residence on May 24 to document someone putting tires on top of a resident’s vehicle.

— Kahill Tookes, 29, address not provided, was arrested for strangulation and domestic violence, after officers responded to a State Street residence for a domestic dispute and observed marks around the victim’s neck and under her eye.

— Officers searched a portion of state Route 7 on May 24 for a grey sedan that was reported to be driven by a reckless driver.

— Officers were unable to make contact with a resident who reported someone trying to break into a Pennsylvania Avenue house on May 24. A search of the area turned up no one.

— Officers took a report from a juvenile on May 24 who said he was riding his scooter when Chase Haney, age and address not provided, stopped the car he was driving and threatened to pistol whip him and take his scooter. Officers talked to witnesses who said they saw the male talking to the juvenile but did not hear what was said. It was noted that the juvenile is an acquaintance of another juvenile who Haney has also been threatening and currently has menacing charges for.

— Officers responded to an open 911 line from a Maine Boulevard residence on May 24 and spoke with the resident who said the kids were playing with the phone. The officer was able to see the kids and confirmed they were playing with the phone.

— An officer was dispatched to an alarm at a Fifth Street location on May 24, but the call was canceled prior to his arrival for a false alarm.

— Officers checked an area of Cleveland Avenue near the railroad tracks for people who reported to be taking copper from a torn down house. Officers walked the tracks looking, but did not see anybody.

Highway Patrol

— Adonay Fuentes, of Canton, was cited at 4:57 p.m. May 22 failure to maintain an assured clear distance, after rear ending a vehicle driven by Landon Williams, of Annesley Road in East Liverpool on state Route 172 in Hanover Township.

— Robert Mountz, of state Route 164 in Lisbon, was cited at 9:22 p.m. May 24 for failure to control in Elkrun Township, after losing control of his vehicle while southbound on state Route 11, traveling left of center and striking a median.

— Two drivers from three vehicles involved in a crash were cited at 4:40 a.m. May 21 in Madison Township. Both Joshua Walker, of Toronto, and Larry Sonntag, of Grant Street in East Liverpool, were cited for assured clear distance. Leonard Bragg, of state Route 45 in Lisbon, was southbound on U.S. Route 30 and attempted to back into a private drive, when Walker struck the trailer of Bragg’s semi-truck and Sonntag rear ended Walker’s vehicle.

— Colton Sonkemp, of Alliance, was cited at 6:48 a.m. May 28 for failure to control in Hanover Township, after his eastbound vehicle failed to negotiate a curb on U.S. Route 30, went off the right side of the road and struck an embankment.

— Ryan Morris, of Cherry Street in Homeworth, was cited at 8:41 p.m. May 28 for failure to control in Knox Township, after going off the left side of Knox School Road while traveling southbound and striking a ditch and a traffic sign.

Sheriff’s Office

— A deputy at 6:19 p.m. Wednesday checked the area of U.S. Route 30 in West Township for an active domestic, searching the immediate and surrounding areas and finding no one.

— A caller at 4:43 p.m. Wednesday on Hilltop Drive, Center Township, contacted the sheriff’s office about a trespass. A deputy later called them back and advised them how to proceed, advising a report would be on file.

— A caller from state Route 45, Madison Township at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday reported a theft of credit cards. A deputy spoke to them later and advised them how to proceed.

— A deputy at 1:52 a.m. Wednesday returned a call regarding trespassing on Y & O Road, Madison Township, advising the caller how to proceed.

St. Clair Township

— Officers responded to Dunkin Donuts regarding an accident that happened May 25 at Dunham’s Plaza. A female reported the other driver involved in the private property crash had left the scene.

— An officer responded on May 24 to Calcutta Smith Ferry Road for a complaint of car wash traffic blocking the road. The road was clear.

— A female went to the police station on May 25 to report that while she was walking back to her car after walking around Calcutta Square for the car show her ex who she has filed for a protection order against blocked her vehicle in and started yelling. She took a picture of him and he left.

— Ohio highway patrol requested an officer with K-9 at a traffic stop on Pennsylvania Avenue on May 25. K-9 Rebel conducted an open-air sniff and alerted on the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle and officers found suspected white powder residue on the front passenger door but troopers were unable to collect enough for testing.

— An officer took a report on May 25 from a driver for Romeo’s Pizza who said that he went for a delivery and when he returned, he saw scratches on his vehicle.

— A driver was issued a warning following a May 25 traffic stop on state Route 170 for driving with no lights on.

— Officers found the Verizon Store on state Route 170 to be secure after responding May 25 for an alarm.

— Officers were notified on May 25 of a fight taking place at the Memorial Day event in front of Coaches Burger Bar and Grill. Before officers arrived Calcutta Station 10 firefighters checked the area and notified officers that both parties were gone, and no one still in the area witnessed the incident.

— An unnamed driver was taken into custody for OVI by Ohio State Highway Patrol following a May 25 traffic stop on Aten Avenue for which a St. Clair officer with K-9 was requested to do an open-air search.

— Officers spoke to a Lifeteam employee on May 25 regarding an open door that should not have been open. Nothing had been taken from the building.
