Columbiana County Sheriff's Office

-- A woman on Bayard Road, West Township, reported at 6:36 p.m. Friday that her neighbor continues to harass her and her family and anyone that comes to her residence. She wanted a report on file and was told how to obtain a protection order.

-- A theft was reported at 4:57 p.m. Friday on Knox School Road in Knox Township.

-- A medical call was reported at 5:53 a.m. Friday at Knox School Road and Buck Road, with a female being treated by Sebring EMS. She signed a refusal to be treated and was released by EMS. It was determined she shouldn't drive in her condition, so her vehicle was moved to a nearby gas well driveway and the person was transported to Alliance medical center.

-- Deputies were dispatched at 2:29 a.m. Friday to a possible prowler shining lights in the windows and shaking the door handles at a property on Jefferson Street, Salineville. The property was checked and no one was located. The deputy spoke to the caller and then checked the area with no contact. The deputy was called back shortly after passing the residence when the caller reported the people were outside shining lights again. Deputies arrived within seconds and there was no one located and no evidence of anyone being on the property. Deputies stayed in the area 20 minutes with no contact.

-- A threats or harassment report was taken from a North Canton man at 5:54 p.m. Thursday regarding an incident that happened on U.S. Route 30 in West Township.

-- A man on Peace Valley Road, Unity Township, reported at 5:11 p.m. Thursday that a Norfolk Southern train was blocking his driveway, which is a private crossing. Dispatch contacted Norfolk Southern and they advised they would move it as soon as possible.

-- A man on Homeworth Road, Knox Township, reported at 3:34 p.m. Thursday that his son, of South Carolina, borrowed his deceased grandfather's vehicle in December 2023 and was to return it in January 2024, but was refusing to return it.

-- Deputies were called at 12:08 a.m. Thursday to Adams Road, Unity Township, for one to be removed after a domestic dispute. Deputies spoke to both parties and neither wanted to press charges. A refusal was obtained.

-- A residential alarm was reported at 1:51 a.m. April 2 on state Route 7, Fairfield Township. The property was checked from the ground level, with all buildings found secure. No one was located.

-- A deputy took a report at 8:36 a.m. March 29 of items being taken out of a residence since October on West Main Street, Salem Township. The caller also reported that some of the items taken had been returned.

Highway Patrol

-- Charles Alexander, 43, state Route 152, Richmond, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after a side-by-side that he was hauling south on Adams Road in Unity Township with his pick-up truck struck a railroad overpass and then struck the camper Alexander was also hauling at 12:18 p.m. March 31.

-- Caleb White, 19, Clarkson Road, Rogers, was cited for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to control when the vehicle he was driving south on Union Ridge Road in Middleton Township went off of the right side of the road and struck a utility pole at 4 a.m. March 31.

-- Louise Young, 38, King Road, Salem, was cited for driving left of center when the vehicle she was driving eastbound on U.S. Route 62 in Knox Township traveled left of the center line, striking another vehicle, driven by Edward Waskivich, 42, Alliance, when it was attempting to pass Young's vehicle on the left side at 4:59 p.m. March 30.

-- Troy Williamson, 18, West Garfield Road, Columbiana, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after the vehicle he was driving southbound on state Route 7 in Middleton Township struck another vehicle, driven by Timothy Laughlin, 46, Fredricktown Clarkson Road, Negley, in the rear, while it was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Sprucevale Road at 6:24 p.m. March 29.

-- Matthew Holland, 22, Massillon, was cited for failure to control after the vehicle he was driving east on state Route 172 in Hanover Township went off of the right side of the road, striking a tree, at 11:43 a.m. March 29.

-- Leo McElwain, 21, North Georgetown, was cited for assured clear distance ahead when the vehicle he was driving northbound on Westville Lake Road in Knox Township rear-ended another vehicle, driven by Timothy Gottschling, 64, King Road, Salem, at 8:57 a.m. March 29.

-- Steven Spencer, 32, Butcher Road, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead and distracted driving when the vehicle he was driving westbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township struck another vehicle, driven by Megan King, 32, Bessemer, Pa., in the rear while it was stopped at a traffic light at 5:04 p.m. March 28.

-- Sarah Johnson, 35, Bell Avenue, Columbiana, was cited for failure to control after the vehicle she was driving east on state Route 558 in Salem Township went off of the right side of the road and struck a utility pole at 8:13 a.m. March 28.

-- Aiden Dale, 19, Church Street Extension, Salineville, was cited for failure to control after the vehicle he was driving eastbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township went off of the right side of the road and struck a ditch after passing a garbage truck at 12:36 p.m. March 27.
