County Sheriff

A residents of state Route 154, Elkrun Township, reported at 8:55 p.m. Jan. 5 that his trailer was stolen from his property. A warrant for theft was issued out of Columbiana County Municipal Court for an Elkrun Township man.

St. Clair Township

-- Officers went to a residence in the 48100 block of Moore Road on Jan. 3 at 6:25 p.m., to serve an arrest warrant for Joshua Burkett, 48, (address not provided). Burkett was arrested and transported to the St. Clair Township Police Department.

-- Officers responded to the 49100 block of Hickman Road on Jan. 4 at 11:54 a.m., for a private property crash.

-- An officer responded to Walmart on Jan. 4 at 2:49 p.m., for a report of a male attempting to get into people's cars. The officer found stolen merchandise on David Talbott,33, (address not provided) totaling $398.96. Talbott was charge with petty theft.

-- An officer responded to Walmart on Jan. 4 at 6:20 p.m., for a female shoplifter. Brandi Hissom, 48, (address not provided) was observed to scan 237 items totaling $1,564.91 using a .50 price tag. Hissom was arrested and charged with theft.

-- An officer was dispatched to the intersection of state Route 170 and East Liverpool Road on Jan. 5 at 9:01 p.m., for a car crash. The officer spoke to Robert Simms (age and address not provided) who said his license was suspended. Simms was issued a citation, and his vehicle was towed.

-- An officer was dispatched on Jan. 6 at 9:15 p.m., to Calcutta Smith Ferry Road and Grimms Bridge Road for a two-car accident with possible injuries. The driver of the vehicle which was struck was identified as Mary Judy, 54, (address not provided) who officers knew did not have a valid license. Judy told paramedics she had a drink earlier in the day. The officer found open containers in her vehicle. She was transported to the hospital due to injuries and then issued citations for driving with no license for two or more offenses and OVI. She was also issued a summons for court.

-- An officer conducted a traffic stop on Jan. 8 at 9:50 a.m., on Cannon Mills Road for a registration violation. The female driver gave officers consent to search the vehicle. At that time the passenger, Joshua Thrasher, 40, (address not provided) admitted to having a syringe on him. Thrasher was placed under arrest and charged with possessing drug abuse instruments and given a summons to appear in court.

-- An officer conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation on Y & O Road on Jan. 8 1:12 p.m. The officer asked the passengers for their IDs and neither of them had one. The female passenger who was identified after providing a false name as Samantha Gallimore, 33, (address not provided) was discovered to have an active warrant. The male passenger identified as Joshua Gallimore, 34, (address not provided) also had an active warrant. Both passengers were placed under arrest and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

East Liverpool

-- A school resource officer was requested on Dec. 14 at 8:35 a.m., to transport a student from the high school to Westgate Middle School because he missed the bus.

-- An officer responded to the 800 block of St. George Street for a report of a low hanging wire on Dec. 14 at 5:26 p.m.

-- An officer responded to the 300 block of Blakely Street on Dec. 14 at 8:22 p.m., for a welfare check due to a vehicle being parked in a random driveway.

-- A male called on Dec. 14 at 5:20 p.m., to report a female who lives with him had made threats towards him.

-- An officer responded to a report of an unresponsive female in the 300 block of Moore St. On dec. 14 at 3:40 p.m. EMS was on the scene when the officer arrived. A 66-year-old female was found on the bathroom floor. Life savings measures were attempted without success. No foul play suspected.

-- Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Sophia Street on Dec. 14 at 5:55 p.m., for a suspicious male getting in and out of a car with a flashlight.

-- Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Globe Street for an unruly juvenile on Dec. 14 at 3:25 p.m. The female juvenile told her mother she was going to run away.

-- A female came into the police department on Dec. 14 at 7:37 p.m., to report her daughter smelling of marijuana every time she leaves her father's house.
