LISBON -- An East Liverpool woman accused of burglary was found competent to stand trial.
Holly Maddocks, 25, Thompson Avenue, East Liverpool, was found competent by a Columbiana County Common Pleas Court judge based on an evaluation by Heartland Behavioral Health. Her attorney had requested the evaluation based on behavior she had exhibited at the jail. A status hearing was set for Feb. 2.
Maddocks was charged with third-degree felony burglary for allegedly breaking into the home of a family friend in East Liverpool, beginning to tear up the interior and drinking the homeowner's alcohol on May 14.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
-- Robert Fuson Jr., 46, West Wilson Street, Salem, was sentenced to nine months in prison for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, with credit for one day served in jail. Fuson possessed methamphetamine on Aug. 4, 2021.
-- Jamie L. Gump, 39, Thompson Avenue, East Liverpool, was sentenced to 30 days in the county jail, with credit for one day served, for theft from a person in a protected class and telecommunications fraud, both fourth-degree felonies. Upon release from jail, Gump will be placed on three years probation. Gump was also ordered to make restitution of $3,745 to the victim. The indictment accused Gump of stealing money from an elderly client from Oct. 1, 2021 to Dec. 22, 2021 while working as a residential assisted living worker.
-- Malik Pullie, 26, Commerce Street, Wellsville, pleaded guilty to third-degree felony failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, with sentencing set for March 22. Pullie was accused of fleeing from police attempting a traffic stop and traveling at a high rate of speed through a residential school zone with several children and teachers outside on May 10.
-- Chad Brewer, 41, Pritchard Avenue, Lisbon, pleaded guilty to second-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs and third-degree felony tampering with evidence, with sentencing set for March 22. Brewer was accused of possessing methamphetamine in an amount equal or greater than five times the bulk amount, but less than 50 times the bulk amount and tampering with evidence on July 18, 2021.
-- Richard Short, 56, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was placed on probation for three yeas after pleading guilty to failure to verify address, a fourth-degree felony, for failing to verify his current address on Feb. 27, 2023 as required of a registered sex offender.
-- Sam Detoro, 31, New Middletown, was placed on an intervention plan for two years after pleading guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing methamphetamine on June 29, 2022.
-- Robert Skelding Jr., 41, Alliance, was placed on probation for 24 months after pleading guilty to nonsupport of dependents, a fifth-degree felony, for failing to pay child support for one child from Oct. 29, 2017 to July 21,, 2018.
-- Gregory Virden Jr., 33, Wayne Drive, East Liverpool, was ordered to spend 45 days in the county jail after violating his probation for a fourth-degree felony charge of grand theft of an automobile. The charge dated back to Aug. 31, 2018 when Virden was accused of stealing a vehicle. The new sentenced was for 427 days in jail, but he received credit for 382 days already served, leaving the balance of 45 days still to serve.
