LISBON -- In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set May 11 for Early Donald Simko, 28, Auburn Street, East Liverpool, charged with a second-degree felonious assault and misdemeanors of driving under suspension, turn signal violation and two counts domestic violence. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety and he was ordered to have no contact with the victim. According to affidavits filed May 1, Simko allegedly attacked a woman with a hammer in East Liverpool, striking her in the torso with the hammer and swinging the hammer in an attempt to get in the house to further attack her. He also allegedly struck her in the face with thrown items and broken glass and pulled her hair.
A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set May 11 for Brandon Robert Moore, 29, Annesley Road, East Liverpool, charged with fifth-degree felonies of breaking and entering and possessing criminal tools and a fourth-degree felony of burglary, along with multiple misdemeanors for no valid hunting permit, hunting white tailed deer without a non-resident deer permit, two counts failure to obtain permission and three counts miscellaneous wildlife. The hunting violations all stemmed from 2022. Moore allegedly entered the window of a vacant home in Salineville on May 4 without permission and allegedly remained at an East Liverpool residence after being told to leave, remaining on the premises to commit theft.
A preliminary hearing was set May 11 for Brittany Landacre, 29, Indiana Avenue, Sebring, charged with fifth-degree felony breaking and entering for allegedly entering a vacant house in Salineville through a window without permission on May 4.
A pretrial was set Aug. 1 for John Rensselaer Taylor, 56, Aurora, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to a posted undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for $80 to $140, traveling on April 30 to East Palestine for the meeting.
A pretrial was set Aug. 8 for Kyle David Gray, 32, Warren, charged with possessing criminal tools and soliciting for allegedly soliciting sexual conduct from an undercover agent posing as a purchaser of sex for $120 and arriving in Salem on April 26 for the meeting.
A pretrial was set July 27 for James Yocum, 44, Kansas City, Mo., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to a posted undercover ad on a known prostitution website of an adult mother and daughter and arranging to have sexual activity with both in exchange for $220, traveling to East Palestine on April 19 for the meeting.
Charles Shelva Lee Bell II, 19, Blakely Street, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and sentenced to 14 days in jail, with credit for 14 days served, for disorderly conduct, amended from domestic violence, for a domestic on April 15 against a woman.
Nick Rhodes, 49, old state Route 344, Leetonia, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 176 days suspended and credit for four days served, for domestic violence and obstruction of official business. He was also ordered to perform 20 hours of community service. Rhodes caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a woman and failed to obey deputy commands to put several items down and come and talk, trying to take off on foot on April 27 on Old state Route 344, Leetonia.
Dustin Chapman, 41, Union Street, Columbiana, was fined $200 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days served, for a misdemeanor charge of false report of child abuse for reporting a false tip to the FBI on March 18 in Columbiana which was then forwarded to Internet Crimes Against Children. Upon investigation, the FBI was told about Chapman's alleged history of making false reports.
A pretrial was set Aug. 8 for Tony Hilton, 43, Blakely Street, East Liverpool, charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan and pay for 17 items totaling $95 at the Calcutta Walmart on Feb.13.
A pretrial was set July 27 for Gage Gough, 28, Ambrose Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with theft and criminal damaging for allegedly not returning two chain saws in East Liverpool and for damaging another man's truck.
A pretrial was set July 24 for Briana Star Shaid, 22, homeless, East Liverpool, charged with criminal trespass for allegedly entering a condemned house in East Liverpool on April 30.
A pretrial was set July 18 for Angela Marie Hess, 41, homeless, charged with criminal trespass for allegedly entering a condemned home in East Liverpool on April 30 through a window.
A pretrial was set May 8 for Elijah Maze Manley, 21, homeless, charged with criminal trespass for allegedly entering a condemned home in East Liverpool on April 30 through a window.
Cynthia Mercer, 64, Railroad Street, Hanoverton, was fined $200 for sale of tobacco products to person under 21 for selling cigarettes to a 19-year-old during an undercover operation in East Rochester on April 17.
A pretrial was set May 16 for Michael Harroff, 41, Jimtown Road, East Palestine, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence first offense, no motorcycle endorsement, speeding and tail lights.
A pretrial was set July 20 for Joey Corfee, 34, Park Avenue, Salem, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a meth smoking pipe and razor blades with white residue on them during a traffic stop on May 4 in Columbiana. She was also fined $30 for a tail lights violation.
A pretrial was set May 11 for Colleen Murray, 43, Youngstown, charged with illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing a broken meth pipe on April 4 in Columbiana.
Brianne Flaherty, 28, Birch Road, East Liverpool, was fined $200 and sentenced to five days in jail, with credit for five days served, for possession of drug abuse instrument and drug paraphernalia for possessing syringes and a glass pipe commonly used to smoke crack cocaine during a traffic stop on Feb. 25 in St. Clair Township.
A pretrial was set July 24 for Kerry Frasier, 21, Canton, charged with OVI first offense and speeding.
A pretrial was set July 24 for Amanda O'Brien, 30, Calcutta Smith Ferry Road, East Liverpool, charged with OVI first offense, OVI refusal with prior within 20 years and a turn signal violation.
A pretrial was set July 27 for Brad Harlan, 46, Georgetown Road, Homeworth, charged with OVI first offense and failure to control.
A pretrial was set July 31 for Daniel Mikkelsen, 52, Jimtown Road, East Palestine, charged with OVI second offense, OVI refusal with prior within 20 years and a headlights violation.
Scott Bratt, 40, Sprucevale Road, Rogers, was fined $180 for driving under suspension and headlight violation.
A pretrial was set July 24 for Natalie Buzzard, 51, Sixth Street, Salem, charged with failure to reinstate and assured clear distance.

A pretrial was set Aug. 10 for Sara Campbell, 31, Lexington Avenue, Salem, charged with driving under suspension and a stop sign violation. She was also fined $60 for expired plate and no seat belt.
A driving under suspension citation against Savannah Solmen, 23, Newgarden Avenue, Salem, was dismissed.
