-- A deputy was called at 1:35 p.m. Sunday for an alleged shoplifter at the Dollar General, U.S. Route 30, Hanoverton, for a woman who entered the store with two bags, one which was empty and one that appeared to be filled with items. The report said she at first gave a false name then produced her license and there was an active warrant out of Stark County. She was detained and a needle was allegedly located in one of her bags and a pipe was found in the center console, prompting a probable cause search of the vehicle where narcotics, needles and other drug paraphernalia were located. Joyce Conn, 27, Canton, was charged with possession of drug abuse instrument, drug paraphernalia and possessing marijuana, with a pretrial pending on May 11 in Columbiana County Municipal Court.

-- A caller at 11:51 a.m. Sunday said his ex-wife was at the house they share on Timber Run Street, Unity Township, taking items out. He was told there was nothing deputies could do to stop her since she also lives there. He was told it's a civil matter and to notify the court if there's a court order.

-- A caller at 8:08 a.m. Sunday reported that she broke up with her boyfriend and he became depressed so she let him take her dog as comfort, expecting to get the dog back on a certain day, but he failed to meet her with the dog. The address listed was Bethesda Road, Franklin Township.

-- A juvenile-related call was reported at 10:14 p.m. April 24 on Lisa Lane, Center Township, regarding a woman's juvenile daughter and another juvenile girl who goes to the same school.
