LISBON -- In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a case against Kristopher Simpson, 28, Continental Drive, Salem, was bound over to the county grand jury on a fourth-degree felony charge of domestic violence for allegedly physically assaulting a pregnant woman on April 10 in Salem.
A case against Eric Rogel, 32, Alliance, was bound over to the county grand jury for a fourth-degree felony charge of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and misdemeanors of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs third offense, OVI refusal with prior within 20 years and marked lanes. Rogel allegedly had a rifle with the bolt closed and a loaded magazine inside the weapon during a traffic stop when he was allegedly showing signs of impairment on Dec. 3, 2022 in West Township.
A preliminary hearing was set May 1 for Michael D. Mitchell, 32, Cleveland, charged with tampering with evidence and having weapons while under disability, both third-degree felonies. Bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety and he was ordered to have no firearms or ammunition. On April 25 in Columbiana, Mitchell possessed a firearm during a traffic stop and had taken it apart. The recoil spring wasn't located in the vehicle, but was found in the booking room trash after he was taken into custody for having the weapon, since he's prohibited from having one due to previous convictions.
A preliminary hearing was set May 4 for Julene Day, 42, South Cross Street, Columbiana, charged with fifth-degree felony drug abuse for allegedly possessing amphetamine pills during a traffic stop on Nov 5, 2022 in Columbiana.
Mishelle Gillespie, 56, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $350 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for theft for failing to scan and pay for 32 items totaling $154 at the Calcutta Walmart on Dec. 19, 2020.
David Berta, 56, West Main Street, Salineville, pleaded no contest and was found guilty of one count prohibitions concerning companion animals. Two additional counts were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with all jail time suspended pending successful completion of two years probation. He may not own, possess or live with animals except for the two dogs and two cats that live with him and five hunting dogs kept on his property in Carroll County. The charges stemmed from 2021 and involved six dogs and four cats kept at the West Main Street property.
A pretrial was set July 17 for Beverly Sexton, 48, Cherry Street, Salem, charged with theft for allegedly failing to scan and pay for $314 worth of items at the Salem Walmart on March 31.
A pretrial was set July 20 for Terry Lee Mullins, 51, state Route 154, Lisbon, charged with public indecency for allegedly engaging in conduct in front of a large sliding glass door visible from the road on March 25.
William Bryant, 18, Austintown, was fined $150 for disorderly conduct for doing donuts in the parking lot at Thompson Park in East Liverpool on April 18.
A charge of carrying a concealed weapon against Brandy Wolfe, 47, Renkenberger Road, Columbiana, was dismissed at the request of the prosecutor due to evidentiary issues. Wolfe had been charged after a loaded revolver was found in her zipped purse during a traffic stop in Columbiana on Jan. 20 after both she and the driver replied "no" when asked if any weapons were in the vehicle.
James Click Jr., 43, West Fourth Street, East Liverpool, was fined $500 for failure to file city income tax return, but the fine was suspended as long as the defendant remains in compliance. The charge dealt with failure to file in East Liverpool in 2014 and 2015.
A pretrial was set July 18 for Sara Ricciardulli, 73, Lakeshore Street, Columbiana, charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and marked lanes.
Scott Linger, 31, Toronto, was fined $390 and given a 30-day suspended jail term for possessing marijuana, drug paraphernalia and speeding. His driver's license was suspended for 180 days, with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to perform 40 hours community service. Linger possessed a metal straw with white powder residue during a traffic stop Feb. 8 in Liverpool Township.
Jenae Jones, 24, Youngstown, was fined $450 for driving under suspension, speeding and distracted driving.
Iman Lashawn Wade, 27, Wedgewood Street, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for intoxication after being found intoxicated on a street in East Liverpool on April 19.
Brittany Clutter, 28, Myler Park Road, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for intoxication after being found intoxicated on a street in East Liverpool on April 19.
A pretrial was set July 13 for Daniel Stiffler, 64, Butler Grange Road, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, OVI breath first offense and speeding.
A pretrial was set June 20 for Basil McMurray, 24, Empire Street, Leetonia, charged OVI first offense, speeding and possessing marijuana.
Nancy Faulkner, 61, state Route 14, East Palestine, was fined $60 for loud exhaust and no seat belt.
A pretrial was set July 18 for Mildred Exline, 66, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, charged with a stop sign violation, open container and littering from vehicle.

Andrew Meyers, 54, West Martin Street, East Palestine, was fined $95 for speeding and open container.

Brandy Johnson, 28, Youngstown, was fined $85 for speeding and no license.
Anna Jurich, 20, state Route 154, Lisbon, was fined $50 for an equipment violation, amended from speeding.
A pretrial was set July 13 for Louis Peronis, 21, Bacon Avenue, East Palestine, charged with speeding.
James Howell, 57, Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $185 for driving under suspension and speeding.
Clarence Allen McCune, 28, East Eighth Street, East Liverpool, was fined $50 for a tail lights violation.
Georgeann Railing, 46, East Liverpool Road, Lisbon, was fined $100 for speeding.
A pretrial was set July 20 for Tyler Rogers, 27, Benton Road, Salem, charged with improper towing.
Christy Dawson, 44, Lee Street, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for failure to stop after an accident, with her driver's license suspended for one year with driving privileges granted.
