-- An officer was dispatched to West Eighth Street near Dairy Queen on Feb. 3 at 5:24 p.m. for a piece of metal in the roadway. The officer moved an orange construction sign from roadway to the grass.
-- Officer were dispatched on Feb. 3 at 4:04 p.m. to a First Avenue residence for a report of someone messing with the homeowner's camera. Officers checked the residence and found nothing.
-- Officers arrived at First Class Towing to check on an alarm drop on Feb. 3 at 5:01 a.m. All doors were checked and was secured at this time. The lot was checked and cleared.
-- Officers were dispatched to Fawcett Apartments on Feb. 3 at 4:49 p.m. for a female that had taken a bunch of pills trying to overdose. The female was transported to the East Liverpool City Hospital by the East Liverpool Fire Department.
-- Officers noticed a vehicle in the 1800 block of Dresden Avenue on Feb. 4 1:46 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted and officers found the driver to be delivering newspapers.
-- Officers responded to a report of a male falling and hitting his head at 709 Sofia St. on Feb. 4 at 10:49 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a male who was lying on the living room floor with blood coming from the back of his head. The officer observed the male going in and out of consciousness and gave a sternum rub to wake him up until Lifeteam Ambulance Services arrived. Once Lifeteam arrived they transported him to the East Liverpool City Hospital.
-- An officer responded to a report for a juvenile complaint at 1007 Dresden Ave. on Feb. 4 at 6:04 p.m. Upon his arrival, the office made contact with the mother of the 16-year-old juvenile who said her son was being rude but she contacted his probation officer. The officer informed the mother that the police are not to be called as a scare tactic for children.
-- An officer was dispatched on Feb. 4 at 4:24 p.m. to 2505 St. Clair Ave. for a female that said her boyfriend was refusing to give her her belongings. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the female, who told them her clothes had been locked in her boyfriend's truck. He then left and she could not get her things. The officer advised her that it was a civil matter, but if he returned causing issued to call them.
-- Officers were dispatched on Feb. 4 at 2:45 p.m. to Avondale Street for a fight. Upon arrival an officer spoke with two juveniles who said they were just wrestling. The juveniles were moved along.
-- An officer on Feb. 4 at 3:15 p.m. responded to 1310 Brightview Dr. for a report of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a female who stated a male had stolen her car and then returned it. The female had video of the incident and showed it to the officers. While reviewing the footage, the female stated she could hear voices on the footage stating the subjects outside her house committed a murder. The officer could not hear the voices she described. The female gave the officers her modem from her cameras and said she wanted a detective to review it. The property was given to a detective for review.
-- Officers were dispatched to Pennsylvania Avenue on Feb. 4 at 12:55 p.m. for a report of a female flagging down cars. Officers found nothing.
-- A resident at 689 Lincoln Ave. reported a person looking through the windows of his apartment on Feb. 4 at 6:56 a.m. Officers checked the area and found no suspicious people. Report filed for documentation.
-- Officers responded to a call reporting a barking dog at 1110 Pope St. on Feb. 4 at 11:23 p.m. Officers sat in the area and found no barking dog. Report filed for documentation.
-- An officer responded to a report of a domestic situation at 231 W. Fourth St. on Feb. 4 at 11:05 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a 17-year-old juvenile and his mother. The officer observed the juvenile outside the house screaming at his mother. After talking with the juvenile for a few minutes he calmed down and stopped yelling. The officer spoke with the juvenile's mother, who said they were arguing over his girlfriend. The officer asked her if he was physical with her or made any threats and she said no.
-- Officers were dispatched on Feb. 4 at 6:10 p.m. to 1248 Erie St. for a welfare check on a dog. Officers made contact with the homeowner and all of her dogs were inside and perfectly fine.
-- An officer was dispatched to the area of 1200 George St. for a vehicle that had been sitting in the roadway with its headlights aimed into the home located there for a long time on Feb. 4 at 8:10 p.m. The officer made contact with the driver of the vehicle who was on his phone looking at directions and was lost. The driver said he was looking for 1426 Central St. in Wellsville. The officer advised him that there is no Central Street in Wellsville, only in East Liverpool and gave him directions to Center Street in Wellsville and moved him along.
-- An officer was dispatched on Feb. 4 at 7:20 p.m., to 1968 Michigan Ave., where the homeowner was requesting the removal of a female from the property because she would not leave. While en route to the call, the officer saw the female pumping gas on Pennsylvania Avenue and made contact with her there. The female said she was not causing an issue and that she was just talking to her daughter. The officer advised her not to go back there.
-- An officer was dispatched to 325 Moore St., for a deceased male. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a female who said she came by to check on the mail since he wasn't answering his phone and she found him sitting in the chair deceased. Officers learned after investigating that the male had spoken to the female the day before and another friend spoke to him that day. Foul play was not suspected. LifeTeam arrived and contacted the Columbiana County Corners Office.
-- An officer escorted a female on Feb. 4 at 2:59 p.m. to 409 Vine St. to get her children.
-- An officer responding to a disturbance at the intersection of Thompson Avenue and Sugar Street on Feb.4 at 8:52 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer found a male sitting in the middle of the road. When asked what he was doing the male responded he was heading to his daughter's house on College Street and sat down to rest. The officer informed the male he needed to sit off the street before someone ran him over due to not being able to see him. The male said he was leaving.
-- An officer responded to a noise complaint at 126 Avondale St., on Feb. 4, at 6:56 p.m. The caller said that a vehicle was sitting out back playing loud music and has not moved for an hour. Officer could not locate vehicle.
-- Officers checked on a male sleeping in his vehicle in his driveway at 1105 Oliver St. on Feb. 4 at 8:19a.m. The male said he was OK.
-- Officers were dispatched to the area of Ravine Street and Blakely for a reckless driver in a white truck on Feb. 5 at 5:52 p.m. Officers checked the area and did not find truck.
-- Officers were dispatched to 838 Avondale St. for a female wanting to report a gun stolen from her house on Feb. 5 at 5:28 p.m. The female stated that she and her father were moving and noticed that a gun safe with one of their guns was missing and that her brother is the only other person that has a key. She said the gun was a 16-gauge single shot rifle with a broken stock but could not remember the brand and had no paperwork for it because it was purchased in the 1970s.
-- A male called the police department on Feb. 5 at 5:10 p.m. to file a report on a female antagonizing him because she did not believe the eviction notice he gave her was real. He said she has left, but would like a report in case things get damaged.
-- Officers conducted a random walk through at Lena's Lounge on Feb. 5 at 2:12 a.m. Upon leaving, the officers checked the parking lot and found a male sleeping in his vehicle. The vehicle was towed and he was taken to the police station where his wife picked him up.
-- Officers were dispatched to 914 Columbia Ave. for a female that pulled a knife on her boyfriend. Officers made contact with the male who told him that he and his girlfriend (name not given) had gotten into an argument but now everything was fine. She left and he would not like anything done.
-- Officers on Feb. 5 at 6:55 p.m. assisted St. Clair Township police in taking a domestic violence suspect into custody at East Liverpool City Hospital.
-- Officers were dispatched to the VFW on Blakely on Feb. 5 at 10:25 p.m. to meet a female who said that the male she had been staying with since October will not let her into the house to get her dog or clothes. Officers advised her that her belongings were a civil issue but since she lives there he cannot keep her out.
-- On Feb. 5 at 12:08 a.m. officers responded to the area of 522 First Ave. for a caller who reported their back door alarm had gone off and requested the area be checked. Officers arrived and checked the area and found nothing. They spoke to the caller who said her alarm notified her the back door was open and she was afraid to go down stairs and check it. The back door was closed and nothing appeared to be out of place.
-- Officers were dispatched to 325 Moore St. on Feb. 5 at 6:28 p.m where Larry Barnes, 64, requested people be removed from his home. Officers arrived to find no one in the apartment but Barnes who was taken into custody for an active warrant through the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office.
-- Officers responded on Feb. 5 at 4:52 a.m. to 464 First Ave. for a female who reported two juveniles had showed up at her residence and threatened her 18-year-old son. She said the two juveniles left on foot. Upon arrival, an officer talked to the son while another checked the area for the juveniles. The son informed the officers that the incident had started two days prior when the unnamed juvenile had assaulted his sister on Fourth Street. He had since been in a verbal dispute with the unnamed juvenile where the juvenile had made several threats towards him and his mother. He also said when the unnamed juvenile and a 22-year-old male came to the house they had been drinking and began threatening them and brandishing guns. He also told officers he had text messages of the juvenile threatening to beat him up and showed pictures of his sister's face where she had allegedly been hit by the juvenile. The officer requested that he be emailed screen shots of the text messages and that the unnamed juvenile be blocked from contacting him through the phone. The officer explained the process for a protection order and recommended that it include the sister.
Columbiana County Sheriff's Office
-- A woman in the 31000 block of Georgetown Road, Butler Township, called at 3:18 p.m. Wednesday to report people trespassing on her property.
-- A deputy on routine patrol at 7:10 a.m. Sunday located a vehicle with no visible license plates in the pull-off area on Clarks Mill Road. The VIN number was checked and no record was located. The vehicle was locked and off of the roadway, but will be checked in a few days and towed if still there.
-- Telecommunication threats were reported at 2:24 a.m. Saturday in the 4000 block of Butler Grange Road, Butler Township. Statements were taken and refusals to prosecute signed. The process to apply for a protection order was explained.
