LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a pretrial was set April 3 for Derek Thompson, 29, St. George Street, East Liverpool, charged with assault, domestic violence and criminal damaging for allegedly assaulting another inmate at the Columbiana County jail on March 20 by punching him in the head and in the face. Earlier that same day, he was accused of causing or attempting to cause harm to a woman in Wellsville and allegedly breaking the door to get into her house, cussing at her and breaking the back windshield of her car with a tire iron. His bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety and he was ordered to have no contact with the victims. Thompson was also fined $150 for disorderly conduct, amended from domestic violence, for an incident March 19 when he threatened the same woman, poked her in the eye and grabbed her and pushed her on a bed. She wanted him to just leave.
Jeffrey Yocum, 45, Boardman, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. Yocum was accused of responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranged to have sexual activity with a female in exchange for $180 and traveled to East Palestine on Oct. 30, 2022 for the meeting.
A pretrial was set June 20 for Roger Lee Thomas, 59, Alliance, charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly requesting sexual conduct from an undercover agent in exchange for $100 and traveled to Salem on March 21 for the meeting.
A pretrial was set June 5 for James Exline, 58, Roller Coaster Road, Lisbon, charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly urinating in public on Calcutta Smith Ferry Road near the Four Seasons Mini Mart in St. Clair Township on March 22.
Jason Blystone, 30, Michigan Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $500 for failure to file city income tax return for not filing his East Liverpool city income tax return for 2014. Five additional counts for failing to file city income tax were dismissed for subsequent years though 2020.
Mario Patterson, 44, Warren, was fined $1,200 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended and credit for six days served, for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving under suspension and marked lanes. His driver’s license was suspended for two years and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
