LISBON — A Lisbon man had his probation revoked and was ordered to serve 39 days in jail for fourth-degree felony assault and misdemeanor resisting arrest.

Richard R. Vecchio, 60, whose current address was listed as the county jail, appeared recently in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court for a probation violation hearing.

He was re-sentenced to 10 months for the assault and 180 days for the resisting arrest, with credit for 261 days already served in jail, leaving a total of 39 days to serve.

Vecchio pleaded guilty in January 2022 to assault and resisting arrest for harming sheriff’s office Deputy Kevin Shulas, who was trying to take him into custody on May 1, 2021.

Also in Common Pleas Court,

— David Evans, 33, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, pleaded no contest and was found guilty of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for possessing methamphetamine on Jan. 3, 2021. He was placed on probation for two years.

— Dale L. Kinney II, 43, Chester, W.Va., pleaded guilty to two counts possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, with sentencing set for May 26. Kinney possessed cocaine on Oct. 1, 2021 and April 23, 2022.

— Derrick Orrell, 46, Morton Street, East Liverpool, pleaded no contest and was found guilty of possession of cocaine, a second-degree felony, with a forfeiture specification for money in a drug case. Sentencing was set for April 21. Orrell possessed $1,866 and cocaine in an amount equal to or exceeding 20 grams but less than 27 grams on April 14, 2021.

— A motion to suppress and motion to dismiss was overruled in a drug case against Devon Hall, 23, West Park Avenue, Columbiana, charged with possession of fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing the drug on Oct. 8, 2021. A motion for intervention has been filed, with a motions hearing scheduled for May 25.

— William Marshall IV, 40, Alliance, was sentenced to 24 months in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of aggravated possession of drugs, with two third-degree felonies and one a fifth-degree felony. He was also fined $5,000. Marshall possessed methamphetamine on Jan. 26, 2021 and possessed both methamphetamine and MDMA on Jan. 27, 2021.
