-- A deputy responded at 2:48 a.m. Tuesday to state Route 14 near Catalpa Grove Farm outside Columbiana in Fairfield Township to check on a person walking east wearing a jacket and a blanket around him. The man said he was walking to the Beaver County courthouse to appear in court the following day. He had a valid Ohio license and there were no warrants for him. He was checked for weapons and illegal substances, then the deputy gave him a courtesy ride to the Duke & Duchess in Columbiana and gave him some money to get something hot to eat and drink.
-- A woman at the Steel Valley Gas Mart in Hanoverton reported at 7:02 a.m. Sunday that her ex-boyfriend confronted her at her place of employment and then she was receiving threatening telephone calls from him and another person she knows who was in the vehicle.
