-- A vandalism complaint was reported at 1:24 p.m. Wednesday in the 7000 block of state Route 7, but the person who called could not be reached by a deputy.
-- Deputies responded at 6:29 a.m. Wednesday to the 7000 block of Lusk Lock Road for an open 911 line, learning there was phone problem after speaking with the residents who said they were all fine. A deputy responded to the 42000 block of state Route 518 in Madison Township for a similar 911 hangup call with nothing heard but static. A resident was contacted and the deputy discovered an old unused cordless landline phone causing the problem.
-- Suspicious activity was reported at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday on West Main Street, Salineville where a vehicle door was found open. The resident was contacted and checked the vehicle, but nothing appeared missing.
-- A deputy responded at 8:01 p.m. Tuesday to state Route 14, Unity Township for a welfare check and found the person was being transported by East Palestine EMS to Salem Regional Medical Center.
-- A possible cow was reported on the road in the 6100 block of Fairfield School Road at 5:52 p.m. Tuesday, but was not found.
-- A domestic dispute was reported at 3:31 a.m. Tuesday in the 30000 block of Grant Street, Lisbon, with a warrant issued for the arrest of Timothy Homan, 55, Lisbon, for domestic violence. Homan was arraigned Thursday in Columbiana County Municipal Court.
-- A sex offense was reported at 3:19 p.m. Monday on Lisbon Road, but no further information was released.
-- A Canal Street, West Township resident reported at 8:47 p.m. Monday that his wife and her family members took the car seats out of their vehicle that he bought. He was told it's a civil matter.
-- A deputy was called at 7:36 p.m. Monday to State Street, Leetonia for a burglary report, but learned a Washingtonville Police officer was on scene, got statements and was turning them over to Leetonia Police.
-- A deputy was called at 6:58 p.m. Monday to South State Street, New Waterford for one to be removed from the football practice field behind New Waterford United Methodist Church. The person left when the deputy arrived.
-- Suspicious activity was reported in the 9000 block of Trinity Church Road at 6:15 p.m. Monday, but no other information was released.
-- A domestic dispute was reported at 3:37 p.m. Monday in the 16000 block of McCormick Run Road in Madison Township.
-- A caller at 9:14 p.m. Monday in the 36000 block of Perry Grange Road in Salem Township reported hearing a loud bang against her house. A deputy checked the area.
-- A caller at 5:41 p.m. Monday reported suspicious persons in the 22000 block of Virginia Avenue in West Township, saying two males were going door to door asking residents if they were interested in buying solar panels. They did not provide identification when requested and left. A deputy found the males in a vehicle on Circle Drive and they were advised of the complaint and were released after a brief investigation.
-- An ATV dirt bike was reported in the 16000 block of McSwiggen Road at 11:56 a.m. Sunday, but could not be found.
-- Deputies assisted Salem Police after a fight broke out at a local bar in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue, Salem at 1:54 a.m. Sunday.
-- An assault was reported at 12:48 a.m. Sunday in the 12000 block of Cusick Road where a man reported he and a relative had an argument. Both reported nothing physical happened.
-- A man reported at 7:09 p.m. Sunday that someone appeared to make entry into his camper in the 1800 block of Bandy Road. A neighbor had called after seeing a blanket over the door of the camper and checked it with his permission, noting that someone had been in the camper. When the man arrived, he noticed the camper had been ransacked, the LED lights were removed and a mixer/coffee maker was missing. A lock had been cut off of a storage container but he didn't notice anything missing from it. He also noticed a flashlight in the camper that did not belong to him with a name on it.
-- Contraband was found by correction officers processing a new inmate into the Columbiana County jail at 3:33 a.m. Oct. 8. The case will be turned over to the county Drug Task Force.
-- A deputy was dispatched at 11:17 p.m. Oct. 8 to the Columbiana County Airport on County Airport Road for an aircraft that reportedly landed at the airport after hours, however air traffic control had trouble contacting the pilot. The airport and surrounding area were checked, but neither the plane nor the pilot were located.
-- A woman on Rochester Road reported at 7:33 p.m. Oct. 8 that her estranged husband continues calling her at all hours after being told to stop communicating with her unless it's about the children. He told deputies he's been contacting her to see the children. Both were told a report would be on file.
-- Deputies were called at 6:58 p.m. Oct. 8 to Lisbon Canfield Road just north of state Route 344 in Salem Township for a suspicious vehicle with a male slumped over the steering wheel who was awakened by Leetonia EMS. The Ohio State Highway Patrol took over the investigation, leading to the male's arrest.
-- A missing 81-year-old female who walked away from a nursing home in Beaver County heading towards Columbiana County was reported at 8:59 p.m. Oct. 8. A deputy checked the East Palestine area, Pancake Clarkson Road to Lisbon Road area for two hours and did not find her.
-- A welfare check was requested on Spillway Road at 7:58 p.m. Oct. 8 after a man called saying he had not heard from his sister in a few days. A deputy made contact with her neighbors who reported seeing her sitting on the porch the day before. The man was called back and told about neighbors seeing her, then he said she was having issues with her phone but he wanted to make sure she was ok. Her vehicle wasn't there and no contact could be made.
-- A domestic issue was reported at 8 p.m. Oct. 7 on Steubenville Pike Road where a woman was in the process of moving out with two children. A man arrived home and noticed she had a vehicle packed with belongings. He is the registered owner of the vehicle and removed the items, saying she wasn't allowed to take the vehicle. He then broke a picture on the front porch area. No threats were made and nothing physical occurred. She wanted to leave, gathered up her property and the children and left. She did not get all of her property.
-- A welfare check was requested at 6:18 p.m. Oct. 7 on West School Street, but no other information was noted.
-- A wallet was reported found at 1:17 p.m. Oct. 7 on U.S. Route 30.
-- A duffle bag with a handgun inside was reported found in the cabins on Middle Beaver Road by a maintenance worker at 12:55 p.m. Oct. 7. The owner was contacted and was coming on Oct. 8 to retrieve the property.
-- A suspicious male was reported sitting in a vehicle in a driveway on Salem Alliance Road at 12:07 p.m. Oct. 7. It was determined he knew the homeowner.
-- A deputy responded at 12:04 p.m. Oct. 7 to the 2900 block of Homeworth Road where homeowners reported while they were gone for an hour, an unknown person kicked in the front door and took money and jewelry. The door jamb was broken and someone tampered with the locking mechanism. Someone had gone through a drawer in the kitchen and the top drawer of the woman's dresser and numerous pieces of jewelry and $500 were missing.
-- A possible insurance scam was reported at 11:09 a.m. Oct. 7 on state Route 14 where a woman reported receiving a call from a fake insurance company and giving personal information out, but no money.
-- A welfare check was requested by an employer at 9:14 a.m. Oct. 7 for a woman on Walnut Street, Leetonia. Contact was made and she was told to call her supervisor.
-- A worker for AT&T reported at 9 a.m. Oct. 7 that someone stole telephone line from the area of Old Irondale Road.
-- A theft was reported at 9:35 a.m. Sept. 28 on Mardis Road in Hanover Township. A warrant was issued for the suspect.
