Highway Patrol
- Jeffrey Lynn Graves, 81, Manchester, Mo., was cited for a red light violation following a two-vehicle crash at U.S. Route 62 and Mahoning Avenue at 2:25 p.m. Aug. 28 in which hew as westbound and failed to stop for the light, striking a southbound vehicle driven by Rosemary C. Street, 33, Alliance. No injuries were reported.
- Beth Ann Grace, 34, Youngstown, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash at state Route 45 and Salem Grange Road in Salem Township at 4:36 p.m. Aug. 26 in which she was southbound and failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Jordan Charles Butts, 34, Lisbon. Grace was treated on scene for minor injuries.
- Ralph V. Hendershot, 86, Alliance, was cited for right of way at a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash at Knox School and Georgetown roads in Knox Township at 2:35 p.m. Aug. 25 in which he failed to yield at the stop sign, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by a 17-year-old of Homeworth, causing the driver to travel off the roadway into a ditch and overturn. No injuries were reported.
- Michael J. Chek, 48, Newcomerstown, Ohio, was cited for left of center following a two-vehicle crash on Sprucevale Road in Middleton Township at 6:02 p.m. Aug. 24 in which he was southbound and traveled left of center, causing a northbound vehicle driven by Shawn J. Keyes, 42, East Liverpool, to travel off the roadway through a ditch and over an embankment. Chek was transported by Negley EMS to St. Elizabeth's-Youngstown for non life-threatening injuries. Keyes and his two juvenile passengers were transported by Negley EMS to St. Elizabeth's-Boardman for non life-threatening injuries.
- A 17-year-old from Salem was cited for right of way following a two-vehicle crash at Heck Road and state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 6:05 p.m. Aug. 22 in which he was eastbound and pulled from the stop sign, striking a northbound vehicle driven by Ronald Earl Neff, 37, Lisbon. No injuries were reported.
- David H. Cessna, 75, Rogers, was cited for right of way following a two-vehicle crash at state Route 7, Signal and Middleton roads in Middleton Township at 4:31 p.m. Aug. 22 in which he made a right turn from state Route 7 onto Middleton Road then a left onto Signal Road, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by Richard Thomas Elliot, 75, Columbiana. No injuries were reported.
- Richard Duane Benoy, 67, Paris, Ohio, was charged with OVI following a one-vehicle crash in the 36000 block of U.S. Route 30 in Center Township at 8:13 p.m. Aug. 19 in which he was northeastbound and traveled off the roadway, recovered and traveled over the center line and off the opposite side of the roadway, striking a mailbox and continuing through private property over an embankment and striking two trees and a ditch. His 59-year-old passenger from Sebring was transported to the Salem hospital for life-threatening injuries. Benoy was transported to the Columbiana County Jail and ultimately lifeflighted from the jail due to his injuries.
- Brant R. Groves, 36, Washingtonville, was cited for right of way following a two-vehicle crash at state Route 14 and Old State Route 14 in Fairfield Township at 2:51 p.m. Aug. 19 in which he was northbound and failed to yield from the stop sign, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by Timothy Lee Haffey, 68, Enon Valley, Pa. Groves was treated on scene by Columbiana EMS for minor injuries.
- Charles A. Poynter, 75, Leetonia, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash on state Route 45 in Perry Township in which he was southbound and traveled off the roadway, striking a guardrail. No injuries were reported.
Columbiana County Sheriff's Office
- A deputy responded to a 4000 block of Signal Road, Fairfield Township, home at 3:27 a.m. Sunday where the resident reported his ex-girlfriend had kicked the door of his apartment, breaking the glass in the door. The resident was found to have a cut on his left forearm and left foot from the shattered glass. The resident and witnesses had been drinking and were advised to fill out statements when they were sober. The deputy observed tire tracks in the front yard to confirm the resident's account.
- Amy J. Oates-Colyer, 43, no address listed, was charged with domestic violence after deputies responded to the 7200 block of Lisa Lane, Center Township, at 3:43 a.m. Aug. 26 in reference to a domestic dispute.
- A South Lance, Hanover Township, resident reported at 4:54 p.m. Aug. 25 her husband is threatening to take their camper off the property. The resident was advised it was a civil matter.
- A Lisbon Dungannon Road resident reported at 4:01 p.m. Aug. 23 a camper had been abandoned on his property.
- Deputies responded to the 27000 block of Main Street, Knox Township, at 11:30 p.m. Aug. 18 in reference to a woman walking around a vacant trailer with a flashlight.
Lisbon
- Officers responded to a North Market Street business at 10:58 p.m. Aug. 23 in reference to a suspicious person and found a man who said he was talking to himself and arguing with the voices in his head. He declined medical assistance and said he was not homicidal or suicidal. He was told he was not wanted on the property.
- An officer responded to a North Market Street business at 7:28 p.m. Aug. 23 in reference to a man who had been told he was not welcome on the property. The officer was advised another officer was attempting to get the man mental health assistance.
- An officer responded to a North Market Street business at 6:11 p.m. Aug. 22 where an employee reported two men staring at the security camera, then attempting to purchase $400 worth of merchandise with a credit card that was declined. The employee said the men then left the business and she requested an extra watch.
- An officer responded to Lion Club Drive at 4:58 p.m. Aug. 22 in reference to a suspicious man with a juvenile. The officer found the couple in question and determined the woman was 22 years old and was there with her boyfriend.
- Officers responded to the 300 block of East Lincoln Way at 10:36 p.m. Aug. 19 in reference to juveniles yelling, but were unable to find anyone in the area.
