-- Officers responded to the 50000 block of Stagecoach Road at 1:41 a.m. Sunday in reference to an intoxicated man beating on the doors and windows and yelling obscenities at his wife. Officers removed the man for the night.
-- An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with only one headlight on state Route 170 at 11:56 p.m. Saturday. The driver, who was not identified in the report, was found to have a suspended driver's license and was cited accordingly.
-- An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plate light on state Route 170 at 3:56 a.m. Saturday. The driver, who was not identified in the report, was found to have no driver's license and was cited accordingly.
County Sheriff
-- A welfare check was requested at 10:06 p.m. Sunday at a residence on Canal Street in East Rochester. The woman said she was fine.
-- Hilcorp Energy representatives at 10:37 a.m. Aug. 7 reported a theft of batteries and copper wire from a well site on state Route 517 in Fairfield Township. The matter was under investigation.
-- The owner of Kevin's Corner, state Route 172, Hanoverton, called at 8:44 a.m. Aug. 6 to report a break-in overnight. The matter was under investigation.
East Liverpool
-- Officers responded to a 600 block Walnut Street business at 8:47 p.m. Sunday in reference to a man acting strange and not buying anything. Officers spoke with an employee who said the man was seeking a ride to a place 200 miles away. Officers found the man in question behind a business on Dresden Avenue who said he was not acting weird in the store.
-- Officers responded to the alley behind the 400 block of Market Street at 8:36 p.m. Sunday in reference to fight between two men possibly involving a knife and gun.Officers found the argument was about $20 owed for a tattoo. Both people involved were told to stay away from each other.
-- Officers responded to Jim Walker Way at 6:48 p.m. Sunday in reference to someone shooting a gun at the stop sign. Officers spoke with a man who said he was waiting for a ride from someone and that people were shooting BB guns into the woods. He was told to stop shooting the BB gun because it was unsafe and creating an alarm in the public.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of West Eighth Street at 6:17 p.m. Sunday in reference to woman who was being struck by her boyfriend while on Facetime with her daughter. Officers spoke with the woman in question who said nothing physical had happened and her boyfriend had only taken the phone out of her hand without her feeling threatened.
-- A 300 block Haywood Street resident reported at 3:02 p.m. Sunday his truck was stolen from the driveway with three new propane tanks in the bed.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of West Eighth Street at 3:54 p.m. Sunday for a possible fight and found a group of people arguing. One individual said another man come onto the porch and assaulted him so he hit him with a weed eater. Other people scene said the complainant struck the suspect first, causing a response in self defense. The accused was told to speak with the city's law director.
-- An officer at 3:28 p.m. Sunday observed a vehicle with flames coming from underneath it. The owner of the vehicle was able to extinguish the flames using a fire extinguisher. The fire department responded as a precautionary measure. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
-- Kenneth R. Jordan, 49, no address listed, was charged with illegal plates, driving under suspension, reckless driving, and failure to comply following a traffic stop on Bradshaw Avenue at 10:19 a.m. Sunday in which he was traveling on Ravine Street toward Bradshaw and accelerated at a high rate of speed when an officer attempted to stop him. A passenger jumped off the motorcycle at the intersection of Ambrose and Jordan continued on Maine Boulevard onto Anderson Boulevard, indicating he was pulling over but was still attempting to flee the officer before stopping at the intersection at Parkway due to mechanical issues. Jordan then reportedly drove through backyards on Rubicon where he laid his motorcycle down and attempted to flee on foot, hiding under a parked pickup truck. Jordan was removed from under the truck and transported by ambulance to the East Liverpool hospital for treatment. The plates for the motorcycle were found to belong to a Winona resident.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Moore Street at 8:14 a.m. Sunday in reference to people arguing the past hour. Officers spoke with a man who said he had been in an argument with his girlfriend. The man said he did not live at the home and was escorted off the property. He refused to accept documentation of the trespass notice but was advised he would be arrested for criminal trespass if he returned.
-- An officer at 2:16 a.m. Sunday observed an issue outside of a business in the 600 block of St. Clair Avenue in which two females were arguing outside a man's truck, apparently about the man. The officer gave a courtesy ride to one of the women to her vehicle on Ambrose Avenue to avoid further confrontation.
-- Officers responded to the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 1:09 p.m. Saturday where a cell phone had been stolen from a woman who had set the phone down while on video chat. Officers checked the area but couldn't find the man in question.
-- An officer responded to the 400 block of Vine Street at 11:03 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported he was trimming weeds when a rock from the equipment hit a vehicle, breaking out a window. The resident wanted a report on file and spoke with the owner of the vehicle to work out the cost of damage.
-- Charles J. Smith, 42, no address listed, was charged with public intoxication after an officer found him lying face down on Green Lane, asleep from intoxication. He was transported to the East Liverpool hospital by ambulance.
-- An officer responded to the 300 block of Jackman Street at 2:13 a.m. Saturday in reference to a fight and found that a couple was arguing but nothing physical occurred.
-- Police received a call from the East Liverpool hospital at 10:47 p.m. Aug. 12 in reference to a man in the emergency room who was not supposed to be there due to a previous criminal trespass charge not wanting to leave stating he is suicidal.
-- Officers responded to the 800 block of Lisbon Street at 3:48 a.m. Aug. 12 where a resident reported seeing a woman outside his home who appeared to be in distress and said a black car was following her. The woman told officers someone had attempted to rape her which she claimed she reported to the afternoon shift. She said she was walking back home to Lisbon when she noticed a black sedan following her. The woman was given a courtesy ride home.
-- An officer responded to the 500 block of College Street at 12:35 a.m. Aug. 12 where a resident reported someone knocked on her door and left when she answered. She said she went outside and saw two men arguing at a neighboring home with one of them carrying a handgun. The officer checked the area but could not find the two men in question.
-- Officers responded to the 400 block of Orchard Grove at 6:52 a.m. Aug. 11 in reference to a disturbance and spoke with a man who said he was upset because he lost his truck keys after discovering he had run out of gas. The complainant said the man had come over to talk after recently breaking up and went to leave only to find he was out of gas, then starting throwing items around in his truck which she felt was disturbing the neighborhood. Officers spoke with the man again who said he was trying to start the truck without the keys and would be leaving soon.
-- A patrolling officer observed two people dressed all in black walking north on Dresden Avenue near Trentvale Street at 3:39 a.m. Aug. 11. They were found to be juveniles walking home. They were given a courtesy ride home and advised of the curfew laws.
-- Officers responded to the 300 block of Monroe Street at 10:38 p.m. Aug. 10 in reference to someone with a flashlight on the second floor. Officers found the homeowner installing a staircase that was not there the last time the agency was in the home.
-- Marlena Luanne James, 20, Seventh Avenue, East Liverpool, was cited for failure to control following a two-vehicle crash in the 800 block of West Ninth Street at 9:23 p.m. Aug. 10 in which she was westbound and allegedly sideswiped an eastbound vehicle driven by Hayden Nicholas Stovall, 18, Orchard Grove Avenue, East Liverpool. James was transported by ambulance to the East Liverpool hospital for suspected minor injury.
-- A 1600 block Globe Street resident reported at 7:09 p.m. Aug. 10 the front driver's side window had been broken out of his vehicle.
Lisbon
-- Officers responded to the Circle K at 11 :51 p.m. Aug. 6 where the complainant was reporting a female was harassing customers inside the store. Officers spoke with the woman in question outside the store who said he had just asked a couple customers to borrow a phone charger and she left after they said no. Officers advised the woman to head home for the night.
-- Dennis Allen Higinbotham, 46, Wellsville Avenue, Lisbon, was arrested on a warrant out of Marion County and cited for driving under suspension and expired tags following a traffic stop at 9:01 p.m.Aug. 5 on Vista Drive.
-- Officers responded to the 100 block of Sherman Street at 6:59 p.m. Aug. 5 in reference to a woman in labor. Officers stood by until EMS arrived and transported the woman.
