County Sheriff
-- A Middleton Township resident contacted the sheriff's office at 1:21 a.m. Monday regarding a telecommunications harassment from someone known to her.
-- A deputy was doing security checks at the Eagle Pass Golf Course on state Route 172 when he noticed a door to the club house ajar at 12:35 a.m. Monday. He checked to make sure nothing was missing and that the door hadn't been pried open, then secured it and cleared.
-- Deputies were dispatched to Knox Township for an alarm drop from a residence on Westville Lake Road at 11:42 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, the owner, who lived nearby, stated that the tenant's boyfriend had accidentally set off the alarm. The deputy checked the residence to be safe, then cleared.
East Liverpool
-- A woman reported at 1:31 p.m. Sunday another woman who was helping her move the previous day had taken some of her belongings. She said the other woman admitted to taking the items but had not yet returned them.
-- An officer responded to an Orchard Grove Avenue home at 2:34 a.m. Sunday in reference to a disturbance and found the two residents had been in an argument. One of them agreed to leave for the night.
-- Officers responded to a St. Clair Avenue business at 11:25 p.m. Saturday where a man reported he was pushed multiple times by women he did not know after making a crude comment to his ex-girlfriend from whom he had borrowed $100. Officers spoke with the ex-girlfriend who said she also did not know who the women were. The complainant was advised nothing could be done since he did not know who the women were.
-- Officers responded to Thompson Park at 10:58 p.m. Saturday in reference to juveniles fighting on the basketball court. The juveniles left before officers arrived.
-- An employee of a local cab company reported at 7:34 p.m. Saturday a man with whom he is not to have contact had been calling the company requested he specifically drive the cab for him.
-- Officers responded to the 1400 block of Etruria Street at 9:19 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported her bike had been taken and she believed her neighbor took it. The bike was located and returned to the resident.
-- An officer responded to the 200 block of West Ninth Street at 8:32 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported a man against whom she has a protection order had been driving by her home and revving his vehicle's engine.
-- Officers responded to the 1200 block of Dodge Street at 6:37 p.m. Saturday in reference to people attempting to break into a condemned home who fled when told the police were on their way. Officers found evidence someone had tried to kick the front door in, as well as broke the hasp on a basement door.
-- A Spring Grove Avenue resident reported at 8:34 p.m. Saturday his wife has a protection order against him and he got one against her but she is constantly messaging him wanting him to come home. He said she must also be following him because she took a photo of him shopping at a local business and sent it to him. The officer could only find a protection order preventing him from contacting his wife.
-- A man reported at 2:27 p.m. Saturday a woman he knows had been liking his Facebook posts after he was served with a no contact order.
-- Geter Blakely Gist, 53, no address listed, was charged with disorderly conduct intoxication after officers responded to the 500 block of Mulberry Street at 11:55 a.m. Saturday where he was slumped over the driver's wheel of a vehicle and found to have a vodka bottle in his hand.
-- Officers responded to the 2200 block of Harvey Avenue at 9:58 a.m. Saturday in reference to someone being inside a condemned home. The home was found to be secure and officers were unable to enter it.
-- An officer responded with Liverpool Township police to the 2200 block of Dresden Avenue at 7:24 p.m. July 8 where juveniles reported unwanted sexual messages and comments made to them by an adult registered sex offender. The matter is under investigation.
-- Officers responded to the railroad tracks on Putnam Street at 6:03 p.m. July 8 in reference to a man apparently under the influence of something walking down the track, dancing and singing. Officers could not find the man in question.
-- An officer responded to the 400 block of Vine Street at 4:28 p.m. July 8 where a resident driver reported striking a dumpster while attempting to travel between it and a parked vehicle, causing damage to passenger side doors. The officer found the dumpster tucked as close to the curb as possible and the other vehicle parked against the flow of traffic. The driver, who was not identified in the report, was cited for parking against the flow and expired plates.
-- An officers escorted a man to an 800 block Louise Avenue home at 3:58 p.m. July 8 where he said his wife had several people waiting for him to get there to retrieve his belongings. The wife refused to let the man and officers inside the home. Both people were advised the man has rights to the residence to gather his belongings and property is a civil matter.
-- An officer spoke with someone at 10:53 p.m. July 6 who reported being threatened via text by someone he knows. The officer observed the text messages which were part of an argument in which the complainant was apparently taunting the other person. The complainant told the officer the argument started over him stealing an eighth ounce of marijuana from him.
-- Gregg Burton, 46, no address listed, was disorderly conduct (intoxicated risk of harm) and criminal damaging after officers responded to the East Liverpool hospital at 9:10 p.m. July 6 where he was reportedly fighting security. He was found to be combative while being evaluated and broke the window frame, damaging the window, of a room.
St. Clair Township
-- A Bell School Road resident reported at 1:39 p.m. Sunday a suspicious vehicle drives slowly past his home and turns around nearby.
-- Michael Paul Higgins, 46, no address listed, was arrested on active warrants after officers responded to a Huston Road home at 10:35 a.m. July 9 when they saw a man ducking down in the passenger seat of a vehicle owned by a resident while it was traveling on state Route 7. While on station, Higgins requested medical attention and was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
-- Officers responded to the 14000 block of Old Fredericktown Road at 10:19 a.m. July 9 where a resident reported someone had left two garbage bags on his property.
-- Officers responded to the area of Calcutta Smithferry Road and Trotter Lane at 7:19 a.m. July 9 where a driver reported falling asleep but that he did not remember what happened. The vehicle apparently traveled left of center and struck a mailbox then a metal utility pole, spinning the vehicle around and back onto the roadway. The driver was transported by ambulance to the East Liverpool hospital with suspected minor injures.
-- Officers responded to a Dresden Avenue business at 4:26 p.m. July 6 in reference to a fight. Witnesses told officers upon arrival that the people involved had already left in a truck.
