St. Clair Township
-- Trey Isac Shields, 22, no address listed, was charged with petty theft and possession of criminal tools after officers responded to a 16000 block Dresden Avenue business at 8:37 p.m. Friday where he allegedly failed to scan five items totaling $224.40 at the self checkout. He was also found to have concealed additional items inside his undergarments.
-- Nicole E. Smith, 30, no address listed, was charged with petty theft and criminal trespass after officers responded to a 16000 block Dresden Avenue business at 2:50 p.m. Friday where she allegedly failed to scan 63 item totaling $464.46 at the self checkout. She was found to have been served a no trespass order for the property in the past.
-- Travis L. Keener, 35, no address listed, was arrested on an active warrant out of the East Liverpool Municipal Court and charged with possession of drug abuse instruments following a traffic stop on Challenger Drive at 3:48 a.m. Friday in which he was a passenger. A search of the vehicle revealed a hypodermic needle in the back seat where Keener was sitting. The search also revealed a clear crystal/rock like substance in the driver's purse which was sent for testing and possible charges.
-- Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Calcutta Smithferry Road at 1:17 a.m. Friday. Suspected drugs were found during the stop and were sent for testing.
-- Nicholas R. Hull, 31, no address listed, was arrested on an active warrant out of Columbiana County following a traffic stop in the 15000 block of state Route 170 at 5:14 p.m. May 5. Charges are pending lab results of a broken pill found folded inside of paper in the center console.
-- Cody Jackson, no age or address listed, was cited for improper registration at 12:30 a.m. May 5.
Lisbon
-- Richard Ralph Vecchio, 59, of state Route 164 was issued a minor misdemeanor citation, public intoxication on April 29 at just before noon. Officers were dispatched to the area of North Beaver Street near Numbers Brewing Company for reports of an intoxicated man on a bicycle. Officers identified Vecchio laying on the sidewalk next to a bike with an empty vodka and an unopened beer can next to him. Witnesses said he was attempting to ride or push the bike but kept tipping over and falling to the ground. He was unable to sit up due to his presumed level of intoxication, the report noted. Officers said he slurred at times and spoke incoherently. They said he smelled of alcohol. When asked about the empty vodka bottle, he said he "had been drinking a little bit." Due to his sluggish demeanor and his presumed level of intoxication, an ambulance was called. He was cited and transported to East Liverpool hospital for evaluation.
-- A resident called officers at 10:40 a.m. on May 3 and said they had hit a tree and needed a report. The resident pulled into the alley by 414 E. Chestnut St. when she said she backed up and hit the tree. The tree was in the curb lawn and bark was missing from it being hit. There was damage to the driver's left rear fender and bumper. No charges were filed in the incident.
-- Officers were called to Valley View on North Market Street about a man harassing people there on May 3 at 1:48 p.m. Officers found the man by Akron Children's Hospital and told him there was a complaint about him and to go home. No further incident was reported.
-- Officers arrived at Thomas Road for a property dispute on May 2 at 12:59 p.m. Two residents were arguing about where the property line was located. Officers filed a report on the incident.
-- Police took a report about broken car windows on East Spruce Street on May 1 at 12:18 p.m. The resident said the window was smashed during the night. Officers were unable to locate a camera covering the area.
-- Officers received a call from the sheriff's office about a red truck with a light bar driving recklessly southbound on state Route 45 Wednesday at 6:38 a.m. Police left the station and were heading north on North Market Street when they saw a truck of the same description. They ran the plate and followed it for a few miles. The truck's driver made no violations and the officers left without incident.
-- A call about a disabled vehicle in the roadway in the area of West Lincoln Way and Thomas Road brought police to the area on April 29 at 1:26 p.m. When they got to the scene they determined that the car had run out of gas. The driver of the car, Dustee Schwartz, had a suspended license. She was cited for driving under suspension then the registered owner of the vehicle came and picked it up.
-- A caller from North Beaver Street said a truck and trailer were blocking his vehicle, making it impossible to leave in an emergency at 2:31 p.m. May 1. He called police back several moments later and said the truck had left. No further incidents were reported.
Sheriff
-- A woman at 5:20 p.m. Friday reported her belongings were damaged at the residence of another female on Sunset Drive in Yellow Creek Township.
-- Alliance City Schools at 2:30 p.m. Friday requested a well-being check on a student on U.S. Route 62, Knox Township. Deputies spoke with the student, who was fine, and the student's mother.
-- Deputies were called at 3:14 p.m. Thursday to the 6200 block of Adams Road in Middleton Township for a bag of clothes on the side of the road.
