-- A suspicious vehicle reportedly pulled into a driveway, turned around and then stopped near a home on state Route 45 at 3:32 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies checked the area, but the caller reported she believed the vehicle left. Deputies checked the property and did not find anything out of place.
-- Deputies responded to a Hadley Road home after receiving a hang up 911 call at 9:42 a.m. Sunday. The woman said it was her husband who called 911 and then hung up. Deputies explained that because this had been an ongoing problem, the next time he dials 911 if there is no emergency, he would be charged.
-- Deputies were asked by New Philadelphia police to check in the 14000 block of Foundry Hill Road for a stolen pickup truck. Deputies found Justin M. Lamp, 43, inside the vehicle and charged him with possession of drug abuse instruments and receiving stolen property. A stolen motorcycle also was located there.
-- A false alarm brought deputies to a home on state Route 172, Hanover Township, at 9:35 p.m. Monday. Everything was found to be secure.
-- An accident was reported in the parking lot of SD Nold, state Route 45, Center Township, at 4:17 p.m. Tuesday.
Lisbon
-- Police were called at 8:36 p.m. Friday to West Lincoln Way and spoke to individuals present, but both said no one called 911.
-- At 6:26 p.m. Friday, police were notified of a drive-off that occured at a gas pump at Smith Oil Gas Station. The only description was a black sedan, and police were unable to make contact.
-- Police responded to a complaint of criminal damaging on April 21 at 6:28 p.m. The caller stated that he was washing his clothes when a man showed up and poured Dr. Pepper on them. The man admitted to doing so, and the caller decided not to press charges.
-- Harry Baum was taken into custody at 7:51 p.m. April 20 on an active warrant. He was arrested at Baker's Towing on US Route 62 without incident.
-- An officer responded to a complaint at Smith Oil at 2:59 p.m. Saturday. The caller claimed someone had slashed her tire. The officer asked if it was possible that she had run over something, but she didn't think that she had. She was told that police would do an extra watch on Smith Oil's parking lot.
-- Police were called to North Market Street at 2:40 p.m. Saturday for a domestic complaint. They spoke to the individuals present, who stated nothing had happened. They admitted to yelling and screaming at each other, but neither one was harmed. Both parties were told to leave the other alone and keep the volume down.
-- A traffic crash was reported at 10:59 a.m. Saturday at the corner of Saltwell Road and state Route 45. No one was injured. The officer stood by until a state trooper arrived.
-- An officer spoke with a woman at the station at 12:22 April 23. She said she had been rear-ended the day before while pulling into BP gas station at around 5:10 p.m. She said the vehicle pulled up beside her, then sped into the Shale Tavern parking lot and went behind the building. The vehicle was described as a black SUV or Jeep. The hotel's security cameras were unable to pick up the traffic crash. Several vehicles matching the description drove through the lot, but none were confirmed as the vehicle involved.
-- An officer was called to a burning complaint on Sunset Drive at 9:50 p.m. Friday. The resident was in compliance with city ordinance, and was only cooking food over a controlled fire.
-- Police were notified at 4:58 p.m. Thursday of a disabled vehicle, a white Chevy Blazer with a flat tire, on West Washington Street and South Lincoln Avenue. The officer parked behind the vehicle and directed traffic until the driver changed the tire.
-- Officers on routine patrol encountered a truck with West Virginia registration parked at the Lisbon Vet Clinic at 12:25 a.m. Thursday. Since it was after opening hours, they performed a routine check on the vehicle. It was unoccupied and multiple lights were on inside the clinic. The officers realized it was an employee, then cleared the call.
-- Police received a domestic disturbance complaint at 11:20 a.m. Friday on North Market Street. The residents stated they were having a verbal disagreement over the state of their apartment. Officers advised both parties to separate for a while. The call was cleared without further issue.
-- A woman called the police at 8:58 a.m. April 15 and said that another vehicle had struck her mirror. She stated that she had followed it to Columbiana to get the license plate number, and the officer told her to come to the station to check the damage. Meanwhile, the other driver called the police and reported that a vehicle had followed her home and a woman had started yelling at her. After hearing both parties' stories, the officer was unable to determine who was at fault.
-- Police were dispatched to Valley View at 1:23 a.m. April 26 in response to a business alarm. All doors and windows were secure upon arrival. Dispatch was informed that an audible alarm could be heard, and the building appeared to be under renovation. Police could not make contact with a keyholder before the call was cleared.
-- Officers were called to a home at 7:51 p.m. April 24 for a juvenile complaint. The resident reported that two teenage boys were riding bikes in front of the house and yelling vulgar language at the resident's juvenile daughter. No juvenile males on bikes were found upon arrival. The surrouding area was thoroughly searched before the call was cleared.
-- Police responded to a call on North Market Street at 9:01 a.m. April 26 for a loose dog. An officer had dealt with the same dog the day before. Police were unable to make contact with the owner, and the dog warden was notified.
-- An officer responded to a call at 5:10 p.m. April 25 on West Lincoln Way. The resident stated that a man had tried to enter his apartment, and he did not want the man there anymore. He also stated that the man was drunk. The man did not appear drunk, and said he was on his way home. After searching his bags, with consent, the officer found no open containers of alcohol. He was warned that he would be cited if the police received another call about him, and was advised not to return to the man's apartment.
-- Officers responded to an alarm drop at the VFW at 9:20 p.m. April 25. The back door was found unsecured upon arrival. All internal doors were secure, so the officers secured the outside door and notified the key holder.
- A warrant was issued for Russell Allen Scott of Cream Ridge Road, 31, for telecommunications harassment April 24 after a complainant reported that he has been harassing them via the phone and social media. Police attempted to contact him twice and left messages, then they tried again the next day with no contact. A warrant was issued at that time.
- Police received a report April 28 about a dirt bike being driven on the street and on a property on East Washington Street. Police spoke with the owner who was not aware he could not ride on the public streets and he had moved from another state recently. Officers advised him as to how to make his bike legal.
- Richard Ralph Vecchio, 59, of state Route 164 was charged with public intoxication after a caller told officers they saw a man looking in cars Friday by the laundry mat. When officers spotted Vecchio he was walking in front of a car making a right hand turn onto North Jefferson Street. Police said he was clearly intoxicated, cited him and then a friend gave him a ride home.
- Officers responded to a call about a downed wire 10:01 a.m. April 28 by the Canton Bridge on West Lincoln Way. It was a main phone line. Officers directed traffic until AT&T fixed the wire so semis could get under it and pulled another wire off the roadway.
- Police performed a welfare check at the Days Inn at 1:05 p.m. April 27. A caller said he was worried about his aunt there. Police checked and the aunt said she was okay.
