Lisbon
— A caller advised officers that she was driving on East Chestnut on Feb. 15 when a vehicle struck her car and damaged the mirror. The car she reported as the one that struck her had called the station and reported that a car had followed her to her house and a female began to yell at her. Officers spoke to both parties and looked at both their cars but were not able to determine who was actually at fault in the incident.
— A West Washington Street resident advised officers that someone was banging on his back door at 2:16 p.m. on Feb. 15 and he was not able to check who it was. Officers arrived and saw a woman sitting on a chair. She told officers she had been staying with the man the past few days and he asked her to leave. She said she was waiting for a ride who should be there in 15 minutes. Officers found a syringe under the chair she was in, but she told officers it wasn’t hers. Officers disposed of the syringe properly in a sharps container.
— Officers responded to a visitation-related dispute on Feb. 16 when a mother called and said the child had not been returned home on time and the father blocked her number. Officers spoke to the father who said he was told by the mom he could keep the child longer and that he was going to return him later that evening. Officers advised both parties that the matter was civil in nature.
— A caller told officers that a man tried to grab and kidnap her two young daughters at their bus stop in front of the juvenile center on Feb. 15. The one child had a small cut on her hand from the incident and the caller said one child bit the man as the two fled. A similar incident occured recently to the same children with a man of the same description – a tan clean cut blonde man with blue eyes in a white car – and the mother reported that the children think it is the same man as before. Officers checked security camera footage of the area but did not see anything. Two other children who were with the two during the reported incident said they did see the man in the car but he never got out. They said the child with the cut had fallen and possibly caused the injury then. Officers advised the mother to have someone at the bus stop to get the children and she said she would.
— A person called the sheriff’s office at 8:46 p.m. on Feb. 5 but the dispatchers only heard breathing on the line and nobody would answer. Officers went to the address the sheriff provided where the call was supposed to have come from but they were not able to find a house with that number on West Washington Street. When nearby residents were questioned, nobody reported having made the call and said everyone was okay. There were no further incidents.
— Highway patrol advised officers of a suspicious silver car parked at the air pumps at Circle K on Feb. 5 at 6:35 p.m. Officers checked the area and were not able to find a car matching that description.
— A North Park Avenue resident called police on Feb. 16 just after 2 a.m. with a noise complaint. Officers drove by and did not hear anything and they told the caller to speak with his landlord about the matter.
— A resident on Sherman Street reported that two suspicious people were trying to get under her porch on Feb. 15 at 3:24 a.m. but officers on the scene found no footprints in the snow or signs of any activity in the area. They cleared the call. Moments later the person called again and said people had come out of the basement after officers left and ran southbound through multiple backyards. Again officers checked and found no sign of any such disturbance. The report notes the resident has made similar complaints in the past and has small children in the home so a caseworker was informed so they could follow up on the situation.
— The resource officer at the high school was advised by the principal that a visitor had locked their keys in their car on Feb. 17. The car was opened for the owner.
— Police helped highway patrol with a traffic stop on Feb. 27 at 4:36 a.m. with the car occupied by several minors who were under the influence of alcohol. The teens were cited, their parents were contacts and they were picked up.
— An alarm drop at 7989 Dickey Dr. summoned officers Feb. 22 at 10:02 p.m. but they found no signs of forced entry. A key holder was advised by dispatch and the call was cleared without further incident.
— A verbal altercation in the county municipal court parking lot on Feb. 24 brought officers to the scene at 3:35 p.m. A man told officers when he pulled into the lot, a neighbor came over from his home on Green Tree Place and started the argument. The Green Tree resident told officers the man had driven by his house and called him a racial slur while gesturing obscenely at him. However, the neighbor left to go to work and never contacted officers about pressing charges. The other man said he would stop by the station to file a report but he did not.
— Officers responded to a call about a minor traffic crash near Vista Drive on Feb. 23 just before 3 p.m. The driver told officers he was traveling southbound on North Market Street when another car pulled out of a driveway on the west side of the road and damaged the rear end of his car and left the scene. He said it was a 2020 Chevy station wagon and provided a plate number.
— Officers were called to Morrison Street on Feb. 23 at 4:33 p.m. about a protection order violation. However, a check of records showed the man had not yet been served with the order and therefore it was not in effect yet. The sheriff’s office said they did not yet have anyone available to serve the order and asked officers to get a good address and phone number for the man. Officers told him it would be best to give his address and then to wait there to be served.
— Officers were called to Dunkin’ Donuts by the sheriff’s office on Feb. 24 at 3:25 p.m. about a suspicious person driving a truck who appeared to be having issues walking. Police spoke to the only person in a truck there and they seemed to be okay and not having any issues. The employee there said they had not seen anyone matching that description and officers cleared the call.
— An alarm at Premier Bank on Feb. 24 just after 6 a.m. brought officers to the scene where they found everything secure. They determined that a power outage was responsible for the alarm.
— An alarm went off at Save A Lot on Feb. 24 at 4:41 a.m. where officers found the scene secure and determined it was due to a power outage.
— On Feb. 24 at 4:22 p.m. an alarm went off at Huntington Bank. The scene was secure and officers determined it was due to a power outage.
— A Maple Street resident called for help after his wife fell outside the evening of Feb. 19 and was laying in the street in need of assistance. Officers arrived and helped her up and EMS medically cleared her without further incident.
— When officers made a traffic stop at Smith Oil on Feb. 16 for expired registration, they ran the plate and realized it did not match the car it was on. Upon speaking with the driver, Robert Kennedy, police learned that his license was suspended. Officers smelled marijuana in the car and asked Kennedy and his passenger to exit the vehicle and they discovered two roaches and a small baggie of marijuana. Next it was confirmed Kennedy had an active warrant out in Columbiana County so he was taken into custody and transported to county jail on the warrant.
— On Feb. 21 at 2:01 a.m. a man came to the station and made a noise complaint against his neighbor for loud music. The man at the station was heavily inebriated. Officers had been by the house on the way to the station and told the man music could not be heard from the street. The man was advised to speak with his landlord and that the matter was civil. The man was offered a ride home due to his intoxicated state and the call was cleared.
— A key holder for 386 E. Lincoln Way came into the station on Feb. 21 just after 9 p.m. and said he had driven by and noticed an unusual number of lights were on inside. Officers checked and the front door was not locked. Upon entering, officers saw a key was left in the door from the inside of the residence but they found no sign that anyone had been inside recently. They found nothing lost and nobody inside and cleared the call without any other incident. The keyholder came to the scene and secured the residence.
— Police left a note on a dumpster left in the road on Pine Street near North Beaver Street with no traffic cones or tape surrounding it to see if they could get in touch with the owner on Jan. 5 at 2:11 a.m.
— Police were called to East Washington Street about a man having a heart attack on Feb. 20 shortly before midnight. The man was complaining of chest and arm pain. KLG arrived and transported the male.
— Officers were called to 247 W. Pine St. about a stray dog on Feb. 22. The owner was able to get the dog back.
— A caller alerted officers on Feb. 23 at 10:16 a.m. that a man was at Save A Lot asking people for rides and money. The man left the scene by the time officers arrived but they found out he had gone to the upstairs apartment next door. Officers went up and found him coming down the steps with the tenant. Officers told him to stay away from Save A Lot and the tenant took him home.
— Police were called to Kendall House on Feb. 26 about a resident who was having issues. The resident agreed to go to the hospital and be evaluated.
— Police were notified that a resident wanted civil standby while he got back his belongings from 81 Moore St. on Feb. 26 at 1:47 p.m. Police went to the scene and assisted. The man had an unserved protection order at the time and police stayed with him until the sheriff’s office came and served him.
— An argument at 348 Green Tree Pl. brought officers to the scene on Feb. 26 at 12:26 a.m. The caller said he was trying to move out of the apartment when his neighbor began pretending he had a gun in his waistband. The neighbor stated the man had said he too had a gun and would shoot someone. Both parties agreed to leave each other alone. The caller left shortly afterward and said he wouldn’t be back.
— Police were called to the high school just before noon on Feb. 26 about a person who appeared to be passed out in their car. Police spoke to the person who said they were sleeping before they had to be somewhere and they were okay.
— Bradley Aaron Frederick, 31, of 49846 N. Park Cir. in East Liverpool was charged with depositing litter on public property on Feb. 8. Frederick is a driver for Diamondback refuse service and he was reportedly emptying clients’ garbage cans out in the street on at least two known occasions; first on state Route 154 Feb. 8, then again on North Jefferson Street. Video was provided to the police which showed Frederick emptying a dumpster on the road. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
Sheriff’s office
— While a sheriff’s cruiser was parked on private property on Ohio Avenue, East Liverpool, at 7:08 p.m. Saturday someone backed into the passenger front end. A report was filed with the East Liverpool police department.
— Trumbull County sheriff’s office requested deputies check on someone at a Rose Drive, Center Township address at 8:11 p.m. Sunday. The person was found to be fine.
— A state Route 39, Washington Township, woman reported at 4:06 p.m. Monday someone stole a 2017 Reis Trailer from the property.
— A Bayard Road, West Township person was transported to Aultman Alliance Community Hospital at 4:21 p.m. Tuesday after suicidal concerns. A stolen vehicle was found on the property and towed.
