Highway Patrol

-- Sandra A. Reynolds, 53, East Palestine, was cited with assured clear distance after she rear-ended a vehicle driven by Cheryl A. Strum McCormick, 65, Lisbon, on state Route 164 in Center Township at 6:28 p.m. Saturday. McCormick was cited with OVI.

-- Jack R. Morrell, 54, East Liverpool, was cited with failure to control after he went off the road while traveling on state Route 7 in Elkrun Township and struck a row of trees, metal pole, a culvert and two mailboxes before rotating and striking another tree at 8:40 a.m. Friday. Morrell sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

-- Dylan Rothwell, 23, Columbiana, was arrested and cited with failure to control, OVI and improperly handling a firearm while intoxicated at 1:50 a.m. Saturday. Rothwell was traveling on Kelly Park Road in Fairfield Township when he went off the road and struck a mailbox. Columbiana police found a loaded firearm with two fully load magazines and a bullet in the chamber in the center console of Rothwell's vehicle. After being evaluated and found non-injured by EMS, Rothwell was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

-- Horace R. Chesney, 63, Lisbon, was cited with assured clear distance after he rear-ended a vehicle driven by Brenda Vargo, 58, Leetonia on state Route 45 in Center Township at 1:4 p.m. May 1. David J. Miller, 57, was traveling behind Chesney's vehicle on his motorcycle and put his bike down in an attempt to avoid striking Chesney's vehicle. Miller was seriously injured and transported by EMS to a local hospital. He was later cited with assured clear distance.

-- Jerry T. Westlake, 73, Salineville, was cited with failure to control after he went off the road while traveling on state Route 164 in Wayne Township and struck a ditch and a tree at 7:42 a.m. Friday.

-- Christopher Grace, 20, Beaver, Pa., was cited with failure to control after he ran off the road while traveling on state Route 45 in Madison Township and struck an embankment and road sign at 5:29 a.m. Thursday.

Lisbon

-- Officers conducted a welfare check at a residence on Pritchard Avenue on report of a woman who stopped taking her medication and was threatening to kill her mother at 10:35 a.m. Thursday. Officers made contact with the woman and explained to her that she could be charged with menacing if the threats continued. The woman's case worker made arrangements for her to stay at Personal Touch supportive living facility and she agreed to go.

-- An officer was dispatched to the Kendall House on state Route 154 for three people to be removed at 1:08 p.m. Saturday. An employee advised officers that two men had come to help a woman pack her belongings but they were refusing to leave. All three agreed to leave after the officers spoke with them.

-- Officers responded to the Days Inn on state Route 154 at 10:26 a.m. Wednesday for a possible overdose. The employees asked officers to search the room for any illegal drugs but none were in plain view.

-- An officer responded to Apple Grove apartments on Saltwell Road on the report of a rabid raccoon at 1:13 p.m. May 4. Upon arrival, the raccoon ran into the woods and the officer cleared the call.
