POLICE LOG:

East Liverpool

— Suspicious activity was reported at 12:59 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Park, where it appears a man was sleeping inside a running vehicle.

— Officers checked a report of drug activity involving a red-headed male in a white hoodie at 2:12 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Alpha Street, but they were unable to make contact.

— Stephanie Barnes was cited at 3:31 a.m. Monday in the first block of McKinnon for not having a functional license plate light. Her passenger, Francis Lewis, was served with an active arrest warrant out of East Liverpool Municipal Court

— A property owner in the 800 block of Fairview Street allowed the city housing inspector and an officer to do a walk-through of a resident without incident at 12:55 pm. Monday.

— A city police officer responded to juvenile-guardian disputes at 2:56 p.m. Monday in the 2100 block of Crawford Avenue and at 6:47 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. The 17-year-old girl at the Pennsylvania Avenue address was charged with domestic violence and transported to the Tobin Center.

— A complainant inquired at 8:54 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of Park Avenue regarding his neighbor’s blinding spotlight on his garage and if anything could be done about it. The officer is checking with planning but informed the man that there was nothing criminal about it.

— Officers responded at 3:45 pm. Monday to the 1100 block of Lisbon Street for a sibling dispute allegedly involving a knife. According to reports, the three sisters had gotten involved in an argument over the use of a car with one of them ransacking the house and threatening self harm. That sister was transported to City Hospital for further treatment.

— Linda Griswold, of North Jackson, Ohio, on Dec. 3 with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident with bodily injury.

— Ariel Coen, of Chester, on Dec. 4 with battery.

— Dakota Henson, of Chester, on Dec. 4 with malicious assault.

— Judi Pond, of Pittsburgh, on Dec. 8 with DUI (second offense) an driving suspended.

— Mason Jones, of Chester, on Dec. 9 with being a fugitive out of Mahoning County and DWLS administrative

— Joseph Truan, of Newell, on Dec.10 with burglary.

— Aundracio Jackson, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, on Dec. 11 with fleeing with reckless indifference, reckless driving, DWLS admin, being a fugitive from justice and obstructing.

— Nadine Struble, of Chester, on Dec. 11 with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

— Christopher Stevens, of Fairmont, on Dec. 12 with public intoxication.

— Calvin Fryman, of East Liverpool, on Dec. 13 with reckless fleeing and possession of marijuana as well as Dec. 12 for DUI.

— Patrick Kortright, of Darlington, Pa. with DUI.

— Rocco Barr, of Georgetown, Pa., on Dec. 13 with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.

— Linda Wheeler, of Sewickley, Pa. on Dec. 13 with DUI (third offense).

— Lindsey Beebout, of New Cumberland, on Dec. 16 with petit larceny.

— Jesus Giron Montinez, of Weirton, on Dec. 19 with violation of PDV.

— Jeremy Quintin, of Newell, on Dec. 24 with being a fugitive from justice.

— Steven Midcap, of New Cumberland, on Dec. 26 with driving revoked, DUI, child neglect with endangerment.

— Richard Brew, of Chester, on Dec. 19 with domestic battery.

— Tim Hughes, of Chester, on Dec. 29, with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The following individuals also were served with capias warrants: Travis Riggs, of Salineville; Marcus Ford, of Chester (and domestic battery); Justin Bartley, of New Cumberland.

County Sheriff

— Deputies checked on a vehicle in the roadway on state Route 164 near Spring Valley Road at 12:12 a.m. Thursday and found three young men attempting to change a tire, but the vehicle did not have a spare. They contacted AAA to have the vehicle towed.

— A Campbell Road, Hanover Township, man reported he received a friend request from a woman and they started messaging each other. He shared his phone number with her and she then began asking for money to meet and making other monetary requests. He eventually told her to stop messaging him. Now he is receiving calls from another woman, who said she wants money for services and threatened to call the FBI if he did not pay her.

— A domestic dispute was reported on Waterford Road, Unity Township, at 1:49 a.m. Thursday. A man left out the back of the home and those remaining in the home said he pushed his wife and threatened violence against all four people living there. A warrant was issued for Richard P. Smith.

— A Slater Road, Butler Township, woman reported at 6:41 p.m. Thursday someone was using her information to file for Ohio unemployment.

— A state Route 45, Elkton Township, man reported at 8:02 a.m. Thursday someone was perpetuating a scam after contacting him on Facebook regarding his dog that was reported missing.

— A morning cashier at DP Fuels gas reported a vehicle was parked behind the business at 4:03 a.m. Tuesday. A dispatcher called the owner of the vehicle, who said she broke down at about 8 p.m. Monday and the clerk working at that time told her it was fine if she left it parked there.

Highway Patrol

— Jeffrey S. Waicak, 43, Orrville, was cited for left of center at 6:01 a.m. Jan. 21. Waicak was traveling on state Route 172 in West Township when he went left of center and struck the vehicle of Michael Cotyk, 57, Canton. Cotyk was transported to a local hospital and treated for suspected serious injuries. Waicak did not sustain any injuries.

— Darryl McGuire, 68, Windham, was cited for assured clear distance at 9:15 a.m. Jan. 21. McGuire was traveling on state Route 7 when the vehicle in front of him, driven by Delbert Grimm, 30, Pine Grove, W. Va., stopped in the roadway for another vehicle. McGuire failed to stop and struck the read of Grimm’s vehicle. Grimm was transported to a local hospital for suspected minor injuries and McGuire did not sustain any injuries.

— Ashley A. Giambrone, 30, East Palestine, was cited for failure to control after she lost control of her vehicle and struck a guardrail on state Route 170 in Middleton Township at 6:47 a.m. Jan. 26.

— Samuel J. Ingledoe, 54, Lisbon, struck a deer at 6:55 p.m. Jan. 27 while traveling on Winona Road in Butler Township.

— Melvin E. Howard, 65, Salem, was cited for failure to control after he failed to negotiate a turn in Perry Township at went off the road, striking a mailbox and coming to a stop in a yard at 9:00 p.m. Jan. 25.

Lisbon

— A woman reported Tuesday she has a protection/no contact order against her ex-husband and he continues to contact her despite twice being charged by village police with violating the protection order by sending her letters. She received another letter, and as a result Thomas M. Barrett was charged again.

— Police were called Tuesday to West Washington Street home about dogs running loose and tearing up a resident’s flower garden. Police went to the dog owner’s home and what appeared to be a pitbull walked on the porch and began growling and barking at the officer. The dog retreated around the side of the house and there was no answer in the house, but the officer could hear a dog barking inside. The officer later returned and could see two dogs in the house. A message was left for the dog warden to follow up.

Columbiana

— Officers took a private property crash report that occurred in the Sunoco parking lot on state Route 14 at 5:59 a.m. Thursday.

— A representative of RDH Financial called and spoke with an officer at 10:20 a.m. Thursday in reference to a scam that is going around the area involving unemployment benefits.
