LISBON -- Four Salem residents were charged with obstructing justice in County Municipal Court after attempting to hide a woman from authorities when they came to an East Fourth Street home with a warrant.
Marie L. Whitman, 48, last known address East Fourth Street, Salem, was credited with a day in jail, sentenced to an additional 14 days in jail and fined $500 for obstructing justice for telling authorities looking for Tricia Watson on Jan. 19 that she had not seen her, when Watson was found hiding behind the couch she was sitting on.
A March 29 pretrial was set for Bryan K. Cibula, 40, East Fourth Street, Salem, charged with obstructing justice for allegedly telling authorities at the front door that Watson had been there, but she had left. Watson was found hiding inside.
A March 29 pretrial was set for Wesley D. Clark, 30, last known address East Fourth Street, Salem, charged with obstructing justice for allegedly also telling authorities he had not seen Watson, while sitting where he could see behind the couch.
A March 29 pretrial was set for Craig A. Coffman, 38, East Fourth Street, Salem, charged with obstructing justice for allegedly telling authorities Watson was not there and he had not seen her.
Codey Allen Mobley, Chester Avenue, Wellsville, was credited with 50 days served, sentenced to an additional 40 days in jail and fined $400 for aggravated menacing, criminal damaging, criminal trespassing and domestic violence. On Aug. 19, Wellsville police responded to an Independence Square apartment, where the mother of Mobley's two children, Sarah Berdine, lived and was inside the kitchen with her boyfriend. Mobley kicked the back door, cut the screen and smashed the glass window.
A Feb. 4 pretrial was set for Randy A. Martin, 34, Broadway Avenue, Wellsville, charged with carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and drug paraphernalia. On Nov. 28, Martin allegedly was driving a F-150 pickup owned by Lester Russel without his permission, abandoned it in the roadway when Wellsville police were turning around to stop him, left a machete without a sheath on the floor, as well as a black pouch containing a methamphetamine pipe, Martin's own birth certificate and Social Security card, as well as about 30 credit cards in various names in the glove box.
A March 8 pretrial was set for Mary L. Rizzo, 64, Monroe Avenue, Salem, cited with OVI first offense and traffic control devices.
Michael A. Garlough, 19, High Street, Leetonia, was fined $250 for disorderly conduct amended from improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle for allegedly having a shotgun and ammunition on the floor of the passenger seat of his vehicle during a traffic stop on Nov. 19.
A March 23 pretrial was set for Cordero M. Mason, 26, Pike Street, Alliance, charged with aggravated menacing and telecommunications harassment. Mason allegedly repeatedly sent unwanted messages and used fake numbers to call his ex-girlfriend, Emily Slepski, in August 2019.
Jarrett Lee Martin, 25, Youngstown, was fined $180 for driving under suspension and a seat belt violation.
Travis Parker Baxter, 22, South Range Road, Columbiana, was fined $150 for distracted driving. A marked lanes violation was dismissed.
David Reeger, 35, Church Street, Salineville, was fined $250 for driving under suspension and disorderly conduct for fighting with Kenneth Dickson on Sept. 23.
A driving under suspension citation against Karla A. Calvinoaks, 55, state Route 172, East Rochester, was dismissed.
EAST LIVERPOOL MUNICIPAL
EAST LIVERPOOL -- In East Liverpool Municipal Court, Kira E. Dunn, Bell School Road, was fined $250 and given 180 days in jail (179 suspended), 40 hours of community service and placed on probation after being convicted on a charge of assault (amended from domestic violence).
Nathan L. Mayhew, Sunnyside Street, was sentenced to 60 days in jail for a probation violation.
Matthew J. Rothschuh, Garrettsville, was fined $300 and given 14 days in jail for assault (amended from domestic violence) and obstructing official business.
Jeffrey D. Meredith of Smithfield Street, was sentenced to $350 plus costs and 90 days in jail (seven imposed) on a charge of assault (amended from domestic violence)
David J. Jackson, Jackson Street, was fined $350 and given 30 days in jail on an assault charge.
Michael J. Murphy, Thompson Avenue, was fined $200 and given 30 days in jail (one imposed) and 20 hours community service for disorderly conduct.
Donna J. Potts, Avondale, was fined $850 and given 90 days in jail (10 imposed) for theft, criminal trespass and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Michael A. Russell, Riverside Avenue in Wellsville, was set for pretrial Feb. 11 on violating a protection order and criminal trespass charges.
Alexis N. Harrison, Wilbert Avenue, is set Feb. 11 for a disposition hearing on criminal damaging, theft, possession of criminal tools, criminal mischief and criminal trespass charges.
Amanda R. Ogle, Gipner Road, was set at Feb. 4 for a pretrial on charge of obstructing official business and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia.
John R. Sullivan, Belmont Avenue, was set for a March 25 pretrial on a violating a protection order charge.
Kathleen Townsend, Lincoln Avenue, is set March 25 for a second pretrial on property maintenance, storage of tires and littering charges.
Amber D. Strezze, Echo Dell Road, is set for March 25 pretrial on a theft charge.
Fred E. Morris, state Route 45 in Lisbon, is set Feb. 18 status hearing and March 3 jury trial on domestic violence charges.
Jena M. Smith, Midland, Pa., is set March 25 second pretrial on theft and aggravated menacing charges.
