LISBON -- An East Liverpool man accused of seriously assaulting an East Palestine man after coming there following an argument over a social media app about a woman on Oct. 2, appeared in County Municipal Court on Friday. An Oct. 15 preliminary hearing was set for Mason Andrew Taylor, 20, Oakmont Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with felonious assault for allegedly using a weapon resembling a cat's ears in the form of two protruding spikes to strike Matthew Jerome numerous times in the face. The injuries included a fracture to his orbital bone, a fracture to the interior wall of his sinuses and a damaged retina, which required surgical repair. Taylor is being held on a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
An Oct. 15 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for Lucas Lee Miller, 29, Sleepy Hollow Road, Leetonia, charged with theft, obstructing official business, two counts of possession of a drug abuse instrument and one count of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. The two felony charges are for allegedly stealing a black box with four gold coins and several bills of U.S. currency at the Rogers Flea Market on July 4 and then lying to deputies investigating it. The drug-related charges involve a cut straw, a spoon with residue and two hypodermic needles, which were allegedly seized from under Miller's seat during a traffic stop on Sept. 9, 2019, as well as drug paraphernalia found during a sniff by K-9 Argo on April 14.
Nicholas J. Conway, 39, East North Avenue, East Palestine, was bound over to the grand jury on a theft charge for allegedly taking a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica belonging to Ron Venezia, state route 14, East Palestine, on Feb. 28.
Adam C. Lydic, 25, Sunset Boulevard, Salem, was fined $925, had his license suspended for a year, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 40 hours community service for OVI first offense and failure to control.
A Nov. 23 pretrial was set for Ashley Marie Hill, 25, West Wilson Street, Salem, cited with OVI first offense, speeding, endangering children, possession of marijuana and child restraint. There were four children between the ages of 1 and 8 unrestrained in the backseat of the vehicle during a traffic stop on Oct. 6.
An Oct. 19 pretrial was set for Kimberly M. Jackson, 35, Darlington Road, Negley, cited with disorderly conduct for allegedly fighting with Timothy Boggs on Sept. 23.
An Oct. 20 pretrial was set for Michael A. Gubesch, 42, state Route 172, Minerva, cited with driving under OVI suspension and speeding.
Jeffrey Cox, 38, Fair Avenue, Salem, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.
A Nov. 24 pretrial was set for Mark A. Razo, 37, Canfield, cited with driving under suspension, illegal use of drug paraphernalia and use of an unauthorized plate.
A Nov. 19 pretrial was set for Matthew P. Soldo, 40, Youngstown, cited with possession of drug abuse instruments and illegal drug paraphernalia for allegedly having a syringe, digital scale and plastic baggies on Oct. 2.
A Nov. 17 pretrial was set for Randall J. Fegert, 56, East Fourth Street, Salem, cited with driving under FRA suspension.
A Nov. 23 pretrial was set for Todd Allen Robertson, 51, Georgetown, Pa., cited with failure to move left for a public safety vehicle.
