In Columbiana County Municipal Court, Izaac Devon-Joseph Chalmers, 19, Carole Drive, Salem, was bound over to the grand jury on charges of failure to comply with the orders of a police officer and receiving stolen property. Chalmers allegedly failed to stop for troopers, driving a stolen 2011 Chevrolet Silverado through three separate private lawns for nearly five miles before crashing, while he had two small children, ages 1 and 3 in the vehicle.
John W. Jarvis II, 41, North Madison Avenue, Salem, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over to the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury for burglary. On Aug. 7 Jarvis allegedly broke into the front door of a home, taking a 55-inch Samsung TV, placing it into a 2007 Volkswagen and leaving the scene. A criminal trespassing charge for the same offense was dismissed.
Richard C. Brendlinger, 45, last known address East Third Street, Salem, was bound over on a charge of illegal assembly or possession of the chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine. Brendlinger allegedly had the chemicals and supplies for a meth lab in his home on Aug. 8.
Karissa M. Piszczek, 18, Gavers Road, Hanoverton, was sentenced to four days in jail, fined $200 and required 40 hours community service for complicity to cruelty of animals. Piszczek video recorded as Drew K. Browne beat a domestic turkey about the head at least 18 times. Not only did Piszczek fail to do anything to stop or prevent what happened, she posted the video on social media. She was further ordered to have no contact with Brown, who was sentenced in May to 60 days in jail for the incident.
Chad L. Wilson, 42, Broadway, Wellsville, was fined $700, had his license suspended for two years, required 30 hours community service and sentenced to 10 days in jail for OVI first offense and tail lights violation.
Donald A. Mohr, 53, Mountz Road, Salem, was fined $100 and credited with a day served in jail for disorderly conduct amended from aggravated menacing for telling David Reed he was going to send three guys to his home to kick his rear on March 8.
A Sept. 27 pretrial was set for Larry A. Ketchum, 30, Broadway, Wellsville, charged with criminal damaging for allegedly damaging a sprinkler head in his cell at the county jail on Aug. 10.
An Oct. 4 pretrial was set for Joseph A. Ross, Summit Street, Salem, charged with possession of drugs for allegedly having buprenorphine and naloxone without a prescription on Sunday when he was the passenger in a vehicle searched by Salem K-9 Simon.
Joshua S. Messenger, 27, Cunningham Road, Salem, was fined $200, required 20 hours community service, credited with a day in jail and sentenced to an additional 19 days in jail for obstructing official business and resisting arrest. Messenger walked into Walmart after police told him to stop, refused to show them his identification when he came out of the store and then wrestled with them in the parking lot causing police to force him to be on the ground.
Dewey J. Souers, 29, Vine Avenue, Salem, was fined $150, required 30 hours community service and sentenced to 10 days in jail for illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia for two spoons with suspected narcotic residue in his pocket on Friday.
An Aug. 27 pretrial was set for Eric D. Collins, 22, West Fourth Street, Salem, charged with resisting arrest, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct. Collins allegedly attempted to flee on foot from Salem police on Aug. 18 while he appeared to be intoxicated or under the influence of an unknown substance as he was talking about dying, not making sense and sweating profusely.
An Aug. 30 pretrial was set for Deanna D. Moschella, 38, Youngstown, charged with falsification for allegedly giving police the identification number of her sister, Danielle Moschella, who is from Hawaii on June 27.
An Aug. 30 pretrial was set for Scott A. Martin, 37, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, charged with criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct and assault for allegedly punching Richard E. Parrish in the head and pulling out a knife on April 21. The other two charges were for allegedly running away from Salem Regional Medical Center and into a shed on Monroe Street while he was intoxicated on May 2.
n Mason Andrew Taylor, 18, Granite Avenue, Salem, was fined $200, sentenced to five days in jail and required 30 hours community service for theft for taking a bicycle from the front yard of a Woodland Avenue property on Saturday.
Stephanie J. Vest, 44, Spillway Road, Lisbon, was fined $100 and sentenced to 30 days in jail for theft for stealing items from Dollar General in Lisbon, placing some items in a large purse she was carrying, as well as taking a $10 package of toilet paper from a display on the sidewalk outside the store on Aug. 14.
Timothy Charles Hammen, 32, Cudahy, Wisc., was fined $280 for fictitious plates and a seat belt violation.
David Robert Wales, 29, Greet Tree Place, Lisbon, was fined $150 and required 25 hours community service for driving under suspension.
A Nov. 1 pretrial was set for Darrell Harrison Jr., 22, Youngstown, cited with possession of marijuana.
An Aug. 27 pretrial was set for Patrick L. Griffith, Maple Hill Road, Salineville, charged with resisting arrest for allegedly refusing to follow commands, placing a medications bottle in his pocket, pulling and pushing away from police and exaggerating a fall into the side of the Salineville police cruiser when he was being taken into custody in the Rite Aid parking lot in Lisbon on Thursday.
An Oct. 9 pretrial was set for Steven M. Flowers, 40, Spaite Drive, East Palestine, charged with driving under FRA suspension. Flowers was fined $100 for possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Daniel E. Williams, 23, Youngstown, was fined $100 and had his license suspended for 180 days for possession of marijuana.
Tyler L. Morrison, 20, East Fourth Street, Salem, was sentenced to four days in jail, required 30 hours community service and fined $150 for theft for taking a Mongoose bicycle from a Woodland Avenue home and riding away on it without permission and while people were chasing him to make him take it back on Saturday.
Lonnie Gene Laughlin, 33, Jefferson Street, East Liverpool, was fined $60 for no license and a seat belt violation.
A Sept. 25 pretrial was set for Joshua Ryan Kirtley, 36, Follansbee, W.Va., cited with disorderly conduct for allegedly, while intoxicated, creating a physical risk of harm to Sarah Jakacki and damaging her household when he had been warned not to return there on Aug. 8.
