House majority leader to keynote Columbiana County GOP event

Wellsville council looks at cost to bury cremains

WELLSVILLE – Village council is considering added a cost to bury cremains in an occupied grave. Council members recently agreed to have an ordinance drafted that would charge $350 on top of the grave opening and closing costs to bury cremains in an occupied grave at Springhill Cemetery. Council member Mike Lombardozzi told council members that currently if someone wants to bury the cremains of a relative in the occupied grave of another relative, they are only charged the fee for opening and closing the grave. Beaver Local school board discusses requirements on AI, cybersecurity

LISBON — As the technology landscape continues to evolve public schools are looking at how to meet the new state requirements on Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. The Beaver Local School District Board of Education discussed the new requirements included in Ohio House Bill 96 during their regular meeting this month. Pedestrian hit, killed in Perry Township identified: OSHP

PERRY TWP. (WKBN) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the pedestrian hit in an accident in Perry Township Friday night. According to OSHP Lisbon, an Oldsmobile traveled off the right side of the roadway and hit a pedestrian, identified by OSHP as Amanda J. Speigle, 35, of Salem, at 6:17 p.m. on State Route 45 in front of the Salem Golf Club. Speigle was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and she later passed away at the hospital, according to OSHP. The driver of the car was unharmed. John Boccieri, a former congressman and state legislator, spent more than $75,000 to win the Democratic primary for the open 58th Ohio House District seat. Boccieri’s postprimary report, between April 16 and June 5, shows he raised $21,777 — with $12,500 coming from political action committees — and spent $45,462.66.
