ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP - Township trustees Monday approved a roof repair to the government building.

Trustees approved $2,800 to Danvers Construction to repair a leak in the roof of the government building, clean the gutters and install gutter guards.

The trustees, after a discussion with Road Foreman Dave Smith, tabled the decision to spend approximately $24,000 to purchase salt until a later date when they see if the salt purchase will be needed or not.

Trustees also approved a transient vendor application for Tyler Zimmerly of Sterling, Ohio, representing Trinity Solar and an application to work in a township right-of-right filed by AEP to repair a transformer on Annsley Road sometime between Oct. 26 and March 31.

Police Chief Brian McKenzie said the township's Trick-or-Treat will take place Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Minutes from the Oct. 5 meeting were approved as presented, and purchase orders totaling $7,841.62 and bills totaling $128,365.29 were approved for payment.

The Ohio Liquor Control Board sent correspondence to the township that all establishments with a liquor license in the township have until Feb. 1 to renew their licenses.

The trustees voted to enter an executive with the police chief and several officers representing the police department for contract negotiations, then returned to an open meeting with no actions taken.

The St. Clair Township Board of Trustees meets every other Monday at 4 p.m. in meeting room 116 at the St. Clair Township Government Building, 15442 Pugh Road, Calcutta. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Nov. 2.
