LISBON -- A Salineville man with an alleged history of fleeing from police was served Thursday with a secret indictment for multiple charges from incidents in 2024, 2025 and 2026, including one last month in Salem.
Nathaniel L. Ford, 24, West Main Street, had been awaiting preliminary/pretrial hearings on Oct. 28 in Columbiana County Municipal Court for the incidents, but the cases were apparently presented to the recent county grand jury, resulting in the indictment.
Charges in the indictment include four counts of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, one count of fourth-degree felony failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer and misdemeanors of failure to stop after an accident and driving under suspension.
Ford remains jailed under a $150,000 cash or surety bond, but was also serving a 14-day sentence for two separate cases for theft, disorderly conduct, drug paraphernalia and two counts of obstructing official business from 2023 and 2024.
The most recent event for the indictment occurred Sept. 19 in the Salem area when an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop a red Kia for traffic violations on East Third Street. The driver fled, ended up crashing the car and then fled on foot in a wooded area and was later apprehended by the county sheriff's office. The driver was identified as Ford.
The other failure to comply charges stem from incidents on June 6, 2024, Aug. 5, 2026, and Aug. 21, 2025 and Sept. 2025 when he fled from Salineville police on mini bikes or dirt bikes.
